The Ziris (Moorish: ⵉⵣⵔⴻⵏ Izren), a Moor dynasty of the Zenaga tribe, governed Carthage and the Punic Penisula from 773 to 812. Agwmar ben Ziri (773–799), founder of the dynasty, was the governor of Carthage under the reign of Aberarsan I, who revolted him establishing an independent state under his sovereignty. However, his dynasty was ephemeral and his son Atbir ben Agwmar (799–812) was deposed by Brahim of the Huwaris.
