Yugoslavia, officially the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY; Serbo-Croatian: Савезна Република Југославија, Savezna Republika Jugoslavija) is a sovereign state situated at the crossroads between Central and Southeast Europe. Yugoslavia borders several states to the north, east, and south, and the Adriatic Sea to the west. It is a federation composed of six republics and has four capitals; Zagreb, Sarajevo, Ljubljana, and the largest city of Belgrade which is home to around 7.5 million of the country's 22 million residents.
