York is a city in the United Kingdom, and the capital since 2008, after the destruction of London in a Soviet nuclear bombing. York was chosen over Manchester and Birmingham because both cities were bombed to ruins, and York was far from Soviet forces.
After the Geneva Peace Accords, York became the capital of a war-weary, humiliated Britain under Ed Miliband. York quickly became known as a capital where little was accomplished, and where major decisions were made by the Soviet "political attache."
York was placed under martial law in 2008, and remained so after the war. This was primarily due to the
massive wave of protests against the government, led by Nick Griffin, and later against the Soviet occupation.
