1929- Spongebob made his debut in the first cartoon, "Sponge for Hire," Gary, Patrick Star, Mr Krabs and Squidward are introduced in that cartoon.

1931- Sandy Cheeks is introduced in the Spongebob cartoon, "A Fighting Squirrel."

1936- Plankton is introduced in the Spongebob cartoon, "Plankton Strikes."

1936-1969- SpongeBob theatrical shorts continue on in movie theaters in front of movies until 1969,Columbia Pictures stopped making any more SpongeBob cartoons.

1966- "Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants" airs on ABC, features Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward and introduces the characters, Pearl and Mrs Puff. It was produced by United Plankton Productions and Distributed by Screen Gems.

1968-”Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants" is cancelled by ABC for a low ratings, Columbia Pictures reverts the rights back to United Plankton.

1969- The last Spongebob cartoon, "Moon Sponge," is released on September 2.

1975- "SBSP," a SpongeBob cartoon airs for the first time, the show features SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Mr Krabs and Plankton and introduced Larry The Lobster, Squilliam Fancyson and Elaine the Newscaster Fish, It was distributed in the US by Worldvision Enterprises, later Paramount Television. It later debuted in 1978 on Paramount Network later UPN.

1978- Mermaidman, Barnacleboy and Spongebob’s Parents are introduced in the third season of "SBSP."

1979- Man Ray, Dirty Bubble, Harold the Shark and Tom the Chocolate Addict Fish are introduced in the fourth season of "SBSP." Later in the year, Paramount Pictures acquires the rights to SpongeBob and announces a joint venture deal with United Plankton, also plans for a first SpongeBob SquarePants movie.

1982- "SpongeBob and Patrick: Journey to Shell City," the first SpongeBob movie, is released on February 18, by Paramount Pictures Worldwide, five months before "Star Trek II: The Revenge of Khan" (which is OTL's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan") was released, the movie featured Spongebob, Patrick, Mr Krabs, Plankton, Gary, Sandy, Squidward and it introduced King Neptune and Her Daughter, Old Man Jenkins, Sir Walrus, Antoine D'Shrimp, Madam Mackerel, Bubble Buddy, Sam Shark, Patchy The Pirate and Potty The Parrot. The plot is the same as OTL's "The Rescuers," The movie is a huge success to the box office and reception and Paramount announced plans for a sequel. TeenGirl SquarePants and a Prehistoric and Primitive Versions of the characters are introduced in the final season of "SBSP."

1984- "SBSP" airs for the last time after nine years on television with the last episode, "Krusty Krab Forever." Which chronicles SpongeBob and Friends in his last day before Krusty Krab closes and goes out of business forever and becomes boarded up.

1985- Paramount releases the second Spongebob movie, "SpongeBob Too!," an action- adventure musical comedy featuring Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr Krabs, Pearl, Spongebob’s Parents, Sir Walrus, Antoine, Old Man Jenkins and Sam Shark and introduces Fred the Fish in his first appearance, popularizing the gag “MY LEG!”. "SpongeBob Too!" has a poor box office due to "Back to the Future," starring Michael J. Fox (who played Wesley Crusher in this timeline's "Star Trek: The Next Generation.")

1987- "SpongeBob: (AAS) Adventures Above Sea" airs on CBS, featuring Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and the rest of the gang and introduces the rest of the SquarePants Family, his cousins Stanley and BlackJack and introduces the antagonist Bubble Bass.

1988- "S.Q.U.I.D.," the spin-off of Spongebob Squarepants, released by Columbia Pictures and United Plankton, which involves Squidward and his adventures, It  introduces Squidbeth and featured Sandy from the first two SpongeBob movies. it became one of the successful animated films in 1988.

1989- "SpongeBob Squar3Pants," the third SpongeBob movie, was released by Paramount, the film featured Spongebob, Sandy, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, Mr Krabs, Pearl, Antoine, Rotor, Stanley, BlackJack, TeenGirl, Angler, Sealo and Sam Shark. The film bombs at the box office which puts the SpongeBob feature film franchise to a halt for seven years.

CBS cancels "SpongeBob: AAS (Adventures above Sea)" and replaces it with "SpongeBob: SATAM", featuring Spongebob, Sandy, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, Mr Krabs, Pearl and Antoine and introduces Rob and in the second season.

"I.J.L.S.A," the animated television series based on the hit movie premieres on ABC, it ran for three seasons.

1991- "SpongeBob: SATAM" is cancelled by CBS, after only 26 episodes.

“S.Q.U.I.D 2," is released by Tri-Star on December 11, it is the prequel to " S.Q.U.I.D " The film bombs at the box office.

1992- "New Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants" debuts in syndication in January, featuring SpongeBob, Sandy, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, Mr Krabs, Pearl, Antoine, Sir Walrus, Stanley, BlackJack, TeenGirl, Angler, Sealo, Jim, Tom, Fred and Sam Shark and two new characters, Mina the Eel and Karen are introduced in that series. Sue and Iso join the series in the second season.

1993- Lisa the Catfish debuts in the end of the second season of "New Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants ", Paramount Pictures announced plans for a fourth SpongeBob movie called, "SpongeBob and Patrick In Australia."

1994- Lina the Starfish and Bill the Bird join the series. Bill the Bird is fat and never showers.

1995- Sam Shark dies in the end of the fourth season of "New Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants." A special, "Return of the Krabby Patty," airs in June 30th, before the fifth season airs in September.

1996- "SpongeBob and Patrick Go Down Under," the fourth Spongebob movie, released in November 8 by Paramount, features SpongeBob, Sandy, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, Mr Krabs, Pearl, Antoine, Sir Walrus, Stanley, BlackJack, TeenGirl, Angler, Sealo, Jim, Tom, Fred and Sam Shark and introduced Wilbur the Anchovie and Kevin. Marine the Mermaid debuts in the sixth and final season of "New Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants".

1997- "New Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants " was later moved to then eventually cancelled by Fox Kids and was replaced by "SpongeBob Adventures" on September 7th.

1999- " SpongeBob Adventures " is cancelled by Fox Kids and is replaced with an entirely new reboot simply called SpongeBob Squarepants, (this is the series we all know and love).

 It eventually got moved to Nickelodeon and became a hit amongst a new generation of viewers. Paramount released “Legend Of The Lost Spatula" the fifth SpongeBob movie.

2001- "SpongeBob: Battle For Bikini Bottom," the sixth SpongeBob movie is released on May 20,

2003- "SpongeBob: SuperSponge", the seventh SpongeBob movie is released on Thanksgiving Day.

2004- Nickelodeon premieres a new Spongebob animated series, "The Squidward Show" which focuses on Squidward and a 2-D film titled "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" is released. It involved a mix of 2D characters and live-action actors. It starred the cast of SpongeBob Squarepants and has a cameo from David Hasselhoff

2006- "SpongeBob: Operation Krabby Patty," the eighth SpongeBob movie was released.

2007- " SpongeBob: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman," the ninth SpongeBob movie was released. "The Squidward Show" was cancelled after three seasons on Nickelodeon

2010-Present The Squidward Tentacles Movie is released in theaters. Spongebob Squarepants has been aired on boomerang,Cartoon Network,Ex Frim Nickelodeon
