Wars of Liberation is a part of the Live History project. The text here is adapted from multiple news sources from around the world. French and British revolutionaries fight for freedom against a powerful and aggressive German Reich. The world is on the brink of another World War, and its deadliness could eclipse that of even the infamous WW-II. The main news stations are:

Worldview- February 1st, 2011 Rioters gathered outside the regional capitol in Paris and outside of Vichy in an organized riot to create a free France. Thousands of rioters gathered at each location, chanting "Down with the Reich! Down with the Reich!". The protesters seem to be asking for the Greater German Reich to create a free French state instead of a weak puppet like Vichy France. In Vichy, the protesters have been unopposed, but in German Paris, the riot police were sent out to stop the rioters before they could change public opinion. The riot police has so far only used nonlethal means of subduing the crowds.
GGRN- February 1st, 2011 Today, thousands of rioters marched along the streets of Paris, chanting "Down with the Reich!" They are demanding that a free French state is created free of Greater German Reich influence. Riot Police were dispatched to stop the riots, and the police are on standby. Our great Führer Johann Hitler encouraged the people of Paris to not bow down to the cowardly ways of the protesters. "We must be strong and we must unite against these rioters whose only goal is to cause trouble and undermine the German state"
WorldView- Protests increase but organized police forces are yet to be seen The protests in German France and Vichy France more than doubled in size today, with around 2000 protesters in Vichy and 5000 in Paris. The situation seems to be controllable still, but German officials are warning Berlin that any delays in putting this rebellion down will cause it to spiral out of control. Führer Johann Hitler stated today that "according to the Reich Codes, your protest against the German state is unacceptable and will be put down using military force." Strong words, but the police in Paris are doing almost nothing to stop the protests, many of them actually joining the protesters.
BBC- Growing unrest in southern Scotland feeds concerns A growing unrest in the areas of southern Scotland bordering German-occupied England was reported in a survey, with 78% of people saying that they would like to see England under British control again and that 37% would be willing to fight Germany for it. A small movement called United Kingdom has grown over the past week, with dozens of new members every day. UK Prime Minister James Burgent stated that the movement has nothing to do with the UK government.
WorldView- Protests continue, now in the Austria-Hungarian Empire In the third day of mass protests in France against German rule, protests have now started in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. The diverse people groups of Austria-Hungary, such as the Slovaks, the Austrians, the Czechs, the Poles, and the Hungarians are seemingly all wanting independence from each other. Austria-Hungarian police have been dispatched and military is on route. In Vichy and Paris, protests continue to grow as military intervention is non-existent. Vichy France is in ruins, being a weak country with no popular support. The Greater German Reich is depending on the police in Paris to stop the protests.
GGRN- Protesters strike Austria-Hungary The protests today have continued, and now they are growing to strike other countries. This morning a large group of around 3000 protesters marched in front of the government headquarters just outside of Vienna, demanding that the different ethnic groups present in Austria-Hungary be allowed independence. The Greater German Reich is working with Austria-Hungary to stop the riots. A breakup of Austria-Hungary could mean that anti-German countries would see an opportunity to strike Germany while an ally is destroyed.
CCTV- Seven Chinese peasants killed by Japanese soldiers Reports today show that seven Chinese peasants working on farms near the Manchuria border were brutally killed early this morning. Witnesses say that Japanese soldiers machine gunned them all down for no reason whatsoever. This is just the latest in a series of attacks upon the Chinese by Japanese soldiers. The Japanese occupation of many Chinese coastal cities continue despite efforts by government.
GGRN- German military take great steps towards stopping riots, Germany discusses the reformation of the Reich League German military forces arrived late last night to a city in flames. Looting, vandalizing and destruction has reigned in this city for many days. The military forces were able to capture government buildings and are poised to stop the rebellion in its tracks. The Führer stated today that he would like to see a re-creation of the Reich League, last disbanded after World War 2 when Europe had settled down. The Führer plans to meet with the Italian leader tomorrow.
WorldView- Riots continues and Germans warn protesters not to continue, Austria-Hungary works to close borders' Austria-Hungary declared today that it is going to close its borders to try to stop the riots in Austria-Hungary. They believe that the rioters are being helped by other countries. In Paris minor fighting broke out between police and rioters, with around a dozen rioters injured but none killed. Germany declared that the riots must stop in three days or they will kill the rioters.
GGRN- Germany warns protesters to stop or other methods will be used to stop them The Greater German Reich warned the protesters in Paris, now 15,000 strong, to stop rioting or the Greater German Reich Army will use force. Already, 1300 German soldiers are in Paris, trying to quell the rebellion. The city is a standoff, with neither side budging at all
WorldView- Austria-Hungary closes down borders due to riots, Vichy France government in ruins Riots continued throughout central and western Europe today, with more protests in Vichy and Paris. Austria-Hungary has declared today that it is going to close down its borders to try to stop protesters from leaving the country. The Greater German Reich continues to feed military units into Paris, and continues to warn protesters to stop rioting or the military will use force. Vichy France's government, having always been unpopular and had no popular backing, is in ruins, with many government officials running from the country and many more being captured or killed by protesters.
GGRN- Protesters are given two days to stop or force will be used. The Reich League is planned to reconvene on February 15th. The Greater German Reich announced today that the protesters have two days to stop rioting or the ever-present German military will use force to stop them. The German forces have secured public museums and libraries to prevent them being destroyed by the protestors. The Greater German Reich insists that the situation is under control. The Reich League is planned to reconvene at Berlin on February 15th. Diplomats from Germany, Austria-Hungary, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Virginia, and Carolina plan to be there.
CCTV- murder of Framers investigated, Japan says that they were spies. An investigation of the deaths of the seven peasant farmers that were killed by Japanese soldiers last Thursday is being investigated by a Chinese and a Japanese team. Japan claims that the peasants were secretly carrying weapons and China states that they were only farmers and that Japanese soldiers were taunting China.
WorldView- German military gives one day for the rioters to clear out, Germany sends aid to desperate Vichy France. The Greater German Reich military have given one day for the rioters to clear out, and the crowds have somewhat dwindled. The remaining, around 13,000 people seem to be prepared for the worst, and they have blockaded an area in downtown Paris, where they have made a stronghold. The German military surrounded the area but left one road open for the rioters to escape. Germany has also sent aid in the form of food and money for the collapsing government in Vichy France.
GGRN- German military cause rioters to retreat deep into France, Vichy France receives aid. Rioters in the Greater German Reich in Paris have retreated deep into the downtown, where they seem to have set up their own mini-country. The German military will attack any remaining rioters tomorrow, but have left a way out for any giving up the fight. Vichy France received aid today as part of a Mutual Needs treaty. Vichy France sinks even farther into debt because of this.
WorldView- German military attack rioters, estimates killed in the hundreds. German military forces opened fire upon the rioters in Paris. The head of the Reich Interior Ministry, Hannts von Vilmera, stated that the violence was necessary to strengthen the integrity of Germany. General Joorn Ulcat of the Deutsches Heer stated that the fighting will be over by tomorrow. Over 500 people were killed in the fighting, and the protestors fought back. It is estimated that 28 German soldiers were killed by the protesters.
BBC-United Kingdom appalled by German tactics The UK prime minister, James Burgent, made a speech condemning what he called "cowardly acts of violence" on the part of the German military. Germany's response has not been heard yet.
WorldView- Many countries rise up against German aggression, protesters surrender. Today, after almost 2000 deaths, protesters in Paris surrendered to the pressure of German military forces. The protesters' fate is not known yet, and many countries await the verdict. Many countries have expressed their concern over the German dealings with the prisoners, saying that peaceful ways are possible.
BBC- United Kingdom calls for meeting of Democratic nations The United Kingdom called today for a meeting of democratic nations in New York on the 15th of February, the same day as the meeting for the Reich League. The participating countries will be New York, California, the Rocky Mountain Empire, Quebec, Ottawa, Spain, Portugal, China, and the UK.
WorldView- Germany turns its sights to Vichy France, protests in Vichy reach fever pitch The constant protests in Vichy France swelled with protesters from Paris who were running away from the German military. The city of Vichy is ruined, with over half the population of it fleeing to other countries. The Greater German Reich stated today that it will "cleanse the menace of the protesters from this earth, so we may all live in peace and prosper".
GGRN- Germany warns protesters in Vichy France to stop. Austria-Hungary to vote today on disintegration. Germany warned the Rioters in Vichy to stop or Germany will send force. many rioters are wary, because the German military was very effective in its own territory. Vichy France is unable to stop the rioters, with the government being run by minor officials. Meanwhile, news leaked out from Austria-Hungary that they will vote today on whether to disintegrate. Austria-Hungary is on the brink of collapse at this moment. It is suspected that even if they vote no, disintegration will still occur.
