The War of the Three Brothers, sometimes called the War of Three Coats or the Roman Revolution, was a major civil war that ravaged the Roman Empire in the 1790s. The war was fought for a wide variety of reasons and involved two diverse coalitions with conflicting interests.
The war gets its primary name from the fact that the main leaders of the various coalitions were the three sons of the previous emperor Thomas IV and their rivalries and struggles to gain or maintain control over the Empire, which had become decidedly diverse over the last few decades of expansion. Andrew II and the Illuminati Faction believed that political reform and greater representation of the Empire's subjects would be key in maintaining order amongst the various states while Stephen III and Andronikos VI believed that the current political system was sufficient and granting greater representation would create greater instability amongst the different peoples of the Empire.
