The War of Udistan or Udi War was a conflict between the Khazar Empire and the Sassanid Empire. Started after a punitive Khazar strike tired of the Sassanid-supported Mordvin attacks in its territory, it soon led to the collapse of much of the Khazar Empire and the founding of a new Mordvin Khanate to the north as well as the final securing of Udistan with the re-creation of Iberia as a buffer zone.
