Discussion:

4000 Cavalry does not give you 40 points, more like 20. The Rebels also get a point for defending under Forts, Aircraft and Tanks. Also, the Rebels are probably fighting for ethnic reasons not for political ones. Third, they get a mountains bonus, -4 to attacker and +5 to defender (Rockies, anyone?). Fourth, there is no "fresh army bonus. "Fifth, it could be argued that the war is unsupported in Mexico, but I won't push that.  Stephanus rex (talk) 13:47, August 22, 2014 (UTC)

Greece is defeated. It may retain its independence but it shall pay tribute to the Ottoman every year, which would be roughly 40% of GDP/PPP [Whichever it is].

All the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea shall be handed over to the Ottoman, no foreign military can maintain its presence on Greek lands and Greece shall not participate in any war against the Ottoman for until 1900. Finally, Greece must withdraw all of its claims over Ottoman land e-g Crete

I would agree, given the fact the two nations don't trade at all,  but Greece should have way more than 10,000 men. Given that it just instituted conscription, it should have a minimum of 40,000 men under arms, and probably  closer to 80,000.. Sho ga nai 01:17, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

As an uninvolved user, I would like to point out that, if Spain has already cut trade with the Ottoman Empire by placing it under sanctions, how does the Ottoman Empire cutting trade with Spain negatively affect it? It doesn't make sense. Sho ga nai 11:09, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Well, I have two answers to this: 1) If placing sanctions means that no longer exporting to that nation but you are importing from him then when both of them placed sanctions on each other; they effectively closed markets where the opposing sides merchants could sell stuff. When they did so, merchants on both sides suffered and so did the economy

2) If it means to completely stop trade then the result is the same as the above. Spain could no longer export/import to Ottoman and Ottoman could no longer export/import to Spain. They lost markets so the economy of both suffered. RexImperio (talk) 11:17, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Presumably, though, a nation wouldn't place sanctions unless it was confident its economy wouldn't suffer (especially when the sanctions are placed for the purpose of helping a foreign country like Greece, and thus not of especial importance to the country). Sho ga nai 15:56, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Well if you keep in mind that the sanctions were placed by a normal player (Who only had the -5 in algo for Ottoman in mind) not a skilled administrator, you would understand what I mean. Many strange things have happened in this game for example how England never intervened when Portugal was invaded except for in India. Or how many nations placed sanctions upon Portugal (Like Russia for example) for absolutely no reason. Russia would not benefit or suffer from a war taking place in the Iberian Peninsula. Strange stuff happens. RexImperio (talk) 16:48, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hmmm? RexImperio (talk) 11:20, August 29, 2014 (UTC)

If I may give my opinion: Even though I'm not very good with algorithms, I think both Sine and Rimp underestimate the other's nation. I think Spain's score should be 46.5, and the Ottomans should have 30. This would mean Spain still won, and still annexes Tunisia and Libya. I may be wrong. Tech, Lord of Rotterdam, Defender of Holland (talk) 10:36, August 31, 2014 (UTC)

Well, you need to show how they get those scores. By that logic, I'd give USSR 76 and Afghanistan 15 for the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan but in the end it was the Soviets that lost. Well you get my point RexImperio (talk) 03:09, September 3, 2014 (UTC)

The year of 1862 is basically a giant Antietam, the Union barely wins against the Confederacy (By +1), mainly because it has caught up with the Union in the number of armed forces. It is clear to both sides that this is not a minor war (Mainly the Union) but a long, grueling, painful war. The American Civil War shall be the deadliest war in American history.

Result

Persia wins and gets most of western and central Afghanistan. Remaining Afghans gather at and east of Kabul and ask Kunduz for help.

Fixed algo: Afghanistan successfully defends their territory by +15, the Persian invasion fails.

I do not see how the Afghan would have only 1000 soldiers. In fact, even if they did; thousands would flock to join the military during war time.

Moving on, extreme climate should also be added due to the arid climate in Afghanistan.

Finally, I do not see 10,000 soldiers conquering such a large part of Afghanistan. During the first Anglo - Afghan war, the British suffered 16,500 losses and during the second Anglo - Afghan war, the British suffered roughly 10,000 losses and the British were unable to acquire any territory. For the Persians to conquer more than half of Afghanistan with 10,000 soldiers would be highly implausible RexImperio (talk) 14:42, September 8, 2014 (UTC)
