"German SS suicide squadrons" were first introduced on the Eastern Front, when they proved to be extremely effective, destroying large amounts of Soviet targets while causing less casualties for the Wehrmacht. Modelled after their Japanese counterparts, they went onto be used against the Western Allies in key battles such as the Battle of Britain and Battle of India.
