A Short History of The Vistula Tribes
There were several tribes on the Vistula River. After the Second War for the North almost all of the several peoples of this river had at least one city which they could claim to themselves and some small hinterland. The Vistula River was a rather homogenous group culturally with the differences which could be found among the different peoples being minimal. However, they all very likely could have chosen their independence over joining into a much stronger Kingdom. If each of what are now the Duchies of the Vistula became independent kingdoms they likely could have been taken by their surrounding Kingdoms. Rather, the trade communities of the Vistula orchestrated a change in the political will of these several tribes which made their leaders create a Kingdom of the Vistula and not around twenty separate small kingdoms on the same river. It was due to the tremendous diversity in this Kingdom which allowed the name of this Kingdom and its people as the Kingdom of the Vistulan and populated by Vistulans. The largest of the Vistulans were the Wends and their group held the first Royal Family of the Vistulan Kingdom.
