Vietnam (Dàyuè, Dai Việt, 大越; literally the "Great Viet") is a sovereign state located within Indochina. The current dynastic household ascended to power when Emperor Trần Thái Tông took the throne after his uncle Trần Thủ Độ orchestrated the overthrow of the preceding Lý dynasty.
