Vasily Vladimirovich Schmidt (Васи́лий Влади́мирович Шмидт) was a Bolshevik politician.
Schmidt was born in St. Petersburg, Russian Empire on December 19, 1886. He joined the Social Democrats in 1905 and was exiled to Germany from 1907 to 1911, where he worked as a painter.
In December 1918, he became Commissar of Labor under Lenin.
