[edit] Martin Luther
Hi Nik.
In my Cabotia and Brasil timeline I am playing with the idea of Martin Luther being cannonized as a Catholic Saint. St Martin Luther, Doctor and Reformer of the Church. I would like to explore the following events, and ask you for an opinion:
- Giovanni di Lorenzo de' Medici does not become pope in 1513 (Leo X *here*). Someone else does, someone with the political skills of Alexander IV or Julius II.
- This pope: *Leo X, while not a saint as other popes of the era, is definitively much less corrupt than de Medici.
- Martin Luther is still disapointed on the Church and the papacy, but not outraged for the way indulgencies and sees are being sold. He eventually shares his Thesis, but with a lower profile.
- Eventually *Leo X and Martin Luther begin writing eachother and share their points of view. They won't agree but there is no excomunion either.
- In mid or late 16th century, most Lutherian thesis had been incorporated in the Roman church.
- Some time in the 18th century, Martin Luther is cannonized.

- I would say that Luther probably went along the same route as *here*, initially. Posting the 95 Theses, etc. However, *there*, the Diet of Worms was more conciliatory. A compromise of some sort was adopted. Perhaps some kind of Council was created to investigate Luther's positions. The Council recommended the acceptance of Luther's major points - restrictions on the sale of indulgences, adoptance of the Vernacular, priestly marriage, etc. The Protestant-Catholic split would've been delayed, but I think it's inevitable that it would've occured anyways at some point, lead by a different figure, perhaps Calvin Nik42 23:42, 10 Feb 2005 (GMT)

There are several articles and categories that should be deleted, with nothing linking at them and no content.
They are located category:delete.
Thank you.

- I just added "category:delete" to "Image:Aztec Papatlaca.png". It is a floater and will not be used in my timeline. Is adding this catagory the correct way to request for a file to be deleted? --AirshipArmada 23:09, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Yes. It won't always be deleted immediately, because I don't check the category on a daily basis, but it will be deleted eventually. In this case, since you notified me, it will be immediately deleted. - Nik 00:35, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I know you're a moderator, and that's why I posted my question at your talk page. Don't hesitate to leave your response to my question at my talk page. :-) --WhatIfß 19:23, 21 Apr 2005 (CDT)

Basically I used Irfan View to play with the palettes, and Paint to draw the borders and fill areas. --Carlos Th (talk) 12:35, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
