"VILLA CRUONINGA"
As the United States is not dragged into the war the Soviet Union has to fight Nazi-Germany all by itself. Backed with shear manpower Stalin's technologically inferior forces manage to steamroll to the Channel, setting up puppet states along the way. Poland, Finland and the Northernmost region of Norway are annexed to the Soviet Union. The British Empire, realising that most of Europe was captured by its "ally" the Soviet Union seek further integration with their colonies and dominions, granting all colonies home-rule and establishing the so-called "Imperial Federation" with them. The Imperial Federation also pursues closer bonds with the United States. That very United States remain staunchly isolationist during the war, but the rise of Japan on the western banks of the Pacific lead to the awakening of this dormant superpower and the United States start to build up a strong Pacific defence. Despite the fact that the invasion was an outright failure the very presence of French troops on British soil caused a shift in British public opinion on the war. As a consequence a peace treaty is signed in 1813, in which the Continental System was lifted and French rule over most of the continent was recognised by the British. Because the Continental System was lifted the cooling between Russia and France was less intense and there was no Russian campaign. With no Russian campaign, no war with Britain and no overly ambitious Napoléon around to disrupt the balance, the French Empire survives to this very day. |
