|United States presidential election, 1992|
|November 3, 1992|
|Nominee||Tom Bradley||Steve Forbes|
|Home state||California||New York|
|Running mate||Lloyd Bentsen||Richard Lugar|
|Red states pledged toward Forbes/Lugar. Blue states pledged toward Bradley/Bentsen.|
The economy was also in the midst of a slight recession and Bradley's perceived greatest strengths were regarded as much less important following the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the relatively peaceful climate in the Middle East after the defeat of Iran in the Persian Gulf War.
However, Bradley won a plurality in the popular vote, and a wide Electoral College margin. The election was a significant election due to being the fourth consecutive Democratic landslide in American history.
