The United States Presidential Election of 2008 was the 56th quaddrennial presidential election of the United States of America. It was held on November 13, 2008 and ended with Libertarian Bryce Irwin, then the Secretary of the Treasury and occasionally acting Secretary of State, defeating Democrat John Espinoza, the junior United States Senator from New Mexico.
