This article details the Order of Battle of the United States Army on April 20, 1946. Most of the US Army was either on the Western seaboard, or fighting the Japanese in Formosa and the Home Islands. There were a total of nine National Guard Divisions strung along the coast. All were ill-equipped to face the might of the German war machine.
