The United Kingdom is a state that controls the British Isles and many colonial possessions around the world. It participated in the Danubian War, with France and the Ottomans, but it lost. It then chose not to help the French in the Ten Weeks War. The defeat of the French caused great humiliation among the British for not helping their ally. The next time a great European war rolled around, in this case World War One, the British entered on the side of the Allies, fighting the Austrians and Russians. The British proved to be a decisive force in the war, and although they suffered a major defeat in the Ukraine, they still contributed to the defeat of Russia. The United Kingdom itself was not very affected by the post-war revolutionary wave, but was forced to commit troops all over the world because of it, forcing Britain to stay in a wartime state for several years afterwards.
