PoD (Kennedy assassination attempt)[]
Stable boy Sirhan Sirhan attempted to assassinate Robert Kennedy in San Diego, right after Kennedy won the primaries in California. However, Kennedy survived the shootings, and Sirhan was arrested. Kennedy temporarily suspended his campaign until he was out of the hospital, but when it resumed the RFK campaign grew stronger. Since Kennedy survived, he would go on to win the Democratic nomination and the presidency.
