The Treaty of Tunis was a treaty that pertained to the lease of the settlement of Collo by the Abbasid Caliphate to the Kingdom of France.

Terms

  1. The Abbasid Caliphate will lease the settlement of Collo to the Kingdom of France for ninety-nine years. This lease will be renewable, and can be extended by an agreement between both parties at any time.
  2. The Kingdom of France will pay a single payment of thirty-three thousand Livre to the Abbasid Caliphate.
  3. The Kingdom of France will grant the Abbasid Caliphate some French cannons.
  4. The Kingdom of France and the Abbasid Caliphate will have a eighteen year truce which can be renewed.
  5. Muslims inside the settlement will have the opportunity to move outside of it for ten years.

The lease came to be expired in 1525. In 1531, the lease was renewed by France and the Caliphate, and in 1535 a new terms were drawn up for the renewal:
  1. The Abbasid Caliphate will lease the Peninsula of Gibralter to the Kingdom of France for ninety-nine years, and terminate its lease on Collo. This lease will be renewable, and can be extended by an agreement between both parties at any time.
  2. The Kingdom of France will pay a single payment of thirty-three thousand Livre to the Abbasid Caliphate.
  3. The Kingdom of France will grant the Abbasid Caliphate a steady stream of books for the Library of Baghdad.
  4. The Kingdom of France and the Abbasid Caliphate will have a eighteen year truce which can be renewed.
  5. Muslims inside the settlement will have the opportunity to move outside of it for ten years, while the Christians in Collo will have the opportunity to move back to France for ten years.
