1802.0

The Treaty of Amiens is signed, ending the War of the Second Coalition.

Slavery is reinstated in the French colonies by Napoleon.

Haitian revolutionary Toussaint L'Ouverture is seized and imprisoned by French troops.

Let's do this!

  • Russian Empire: Tsar Alexander I ascended the throne and was proclaimed the Emperor of the Russian Empire in 1802. His early decisions included the Russian Government Reform of 1802 and the implementation of a new currency system which was to be the well-regulated ruble. The Tsar also supported the Russian Enlightenment, but did not generally force his will upon the landowners. However, he did advocate education and research in order to advance technologically, although the Empire opposed ideas seen as hostile to Christianity. Another important reform imposed by the Tsar included an attempt to reform the military, and maintain par with other European powers in terms of technology, training and organization. Due to the general interest in establishing a strong land force, the budget invested by the Imperial authorities into the army was much greater in comparison to that given to the navy. As for the Russian economy, the Empire largely depended upon Serfdom for an adequate agricultural output. Major exports of the Empire included coal, iron, zinc, platinum, copper, lead, etc. The Russian Empire expands into Central Asia by 350 px, Far East by 100 px and Alaska by 50 px. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Baltic Governates: Major investments were made into the Ports of Klaipėda and Ventspils, in order to divert traffic towards the Port of St Petersburg. A small military force of 40,000 men was also established. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Swedish Diplomacy: The Kingdom of Sweden would like to sign a ceasefire between the Russians and ourselves, and establish friendly agreements of trade.
  • Tokugawa Shogunate: We continue improving our country's infrastructure and economy. The current Shogun also continues to slowly take away power from the local warlords and Daimyos. We also continue talks of slowly opening up to the west.
  • Kingdom of Naples: Improve military and economy. Following the defeat of the Kingdom of Naples to the French Republic in the War of the Second Coalition and the terms of the Treaty of Florence. The only reason Naples was still independent was because of Napoleons need to please Russia. King Ferdinand begins building up his forces and begins sending messages to potential allies, particularly Russia and the UK, for an alliance against France.
    • Russian Diplomacy: The Tsar, Alexander I rejects the request of an alliance between the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Naples in opposition to the French Empire.
  • Kingdom of Sweden: Even with the signing of the Treaty of Amiens, the King, Gustav IV Adolf and his council believe it is best to try to gain an alliance with either Prussia or the United Kingdom, so he sends diplomats to each nation for a grand alliance against Napoleon and his nation. We also begin encouraging capitalists in Stockholm to build up infrastructure and build more factories in the region, and we also begin funding the army and encourage conscription in the southern regions of the country. We also plan to abolish slave trade by 1805 to further resist Napoleon's ideals in the minds of the Swedish people.
  • Persian Empire: The Empire begins to build up its strength. Guarded colonists are sent along the border with the Turkmen to extend the borders of Persia by 400 px, and Shia Imams go with them; the government begins a policy of welcoming native Turkmen integration. The Emperor believes that the Empire needs greater resources to express its power, and begins building up the navy massively in hopes to secure trade in the region. The army is also built up, and the Empire begins to secularize the military to allow for greater inclusion of minorities in the military for the purpose of man power boosting. The state begins subsidizing the production of fine Persian rugs to boost commerce.
    • Persian Diplomacy: The Empire of Persia begins looking outward, and seeks warm relations and lucrative trade to nearly all foreign nations.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: The Kingdom of Sweden sends diplomats to Persia to improve relations, and would like to trade Swedish ammunition with Persian opium.
    • Persian Diplomacy: The Empire wholeheartedly accepts and hopes that this sets a new precedent for co-operation with foreigners.
  • Ryukyu Kingdom: Improve infrastructure and economy. A relatively isolated country, Ryukyu will need to change our poor economy in order to gain an influence in the world. We will need to gather resources in order to arrange a proper attack. Currently we are in search of protection from either the Qing Dynasty or the Tokugawa Shogunate in exchange for oaths of loyalty.
  • Archduchy of Austria: We improve the infrastructure and economy. Francis II would like to increase relations with Prussia and other German states, as well as the Russian Empire.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Economy and infrastructure are improved. More rights are given to Hungarians and the Hungarian language is more widely accepted to prevent a rebellion.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Economy and infrastructure are improved. More rights are given to Czechs and the Czech language is more widely accepted to prevent a rebellion.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: Economy and infrastructure are improved. More rights are given to Croats and the Croatian language is more widely accepted to prevent a rebellion.
  • Kingdom of Sicily: With urging from the UK, Sicily had issued democratic reforms, such as the creation of a parliament. Sicily hopes to remain neutral in upcoming conflicts in order to built its power up internally. Its infrastructure and economy are improved.
    • The Kingdom of Naples: Asks the Kingdom of Sicily for an alliance to push the French out of Italy.
  • United States of America: God bless the United States. We improve economy and military by opening more ports for Atlantic trade and diversifying exports by constructing more plantations for cotton and tobacco and farms for certain crops. We send scholars to various European countries to study their system of government, economy and military. We express our desire to purchase Louisiana Territory from France for a negotiable price and favorable trade deals
  • Qing: We realize we are far behind the rest of the world militarily. Therefore we start reforms and improve tech. We request arms from any European country in return for trade in arts and culture, as well as support during wars. We look toward expanding into Korea and the "uncivilized" area to the west and east, as well as the countries in the south. We seek good relations with neighboring player-controlled countries. We also improve economy. Buddhism flourishes in the area. We also would accept Persia's offer and agree to protect the Ryukyu kingdom. Other stuff happens. The emperor decides to give the people rights, such as freedom of speech and other things. This is due to the increasing power of the republicans wanting a republic instead of the old monarchy. The emperor fears that if he doesn't, there would be a revolution as violent as the French Revolution. Eco and mil turn.
    • MOD: So, are you invading Korea?
    • Not yet ... but maybe soon ...
    • Minor mistakes that I would like to point out. The Qing were generally opposed to reform, and I doubt that they would issue reforms such as 'freedom of speech' as well as request European powers for armaments. You must keep in mind that China at this point was largely closed to Europeans, and did not completely open up until the First Opium War. You should also keep in mind that the concept of a 'Chinese Republic' did not exist in the early 19th Century, and even if it did, it would be held by a tiny minority that would surely have no influence on the actions of the Emperor. Moreover, I doubt the Qing would even care about the situation in Europe, and would not spend their time thinking of the French Revolution. Finally, Confucianism was a major religion practised in the Qing Empire, not Buddhism. The latter was largely restricted to Tibet and surrounding areas. -Rimp
    • Minor? *laugh* no ... it's not. Feel free to cross out stuff. I really don't care, but this is ATL.
    • The Persian Empire: Is happy with the idea of trade with the Chinese people.
  • Bavaria: Improves military and infrastructure. Conscription is introduced and we begin to modernize the army. Across the country roads are improved. We look to improve relations with our neighbors and offer The Archduchy of Austria a trade agreement
  • Denmark-Norway: We begin to build up our relatively small military, hoping to increase the number to at least 120,000 by the end of the year. We begin to industrialize our nation, with many factories being built up, mostly in Denmark and the Oslo area of Norway. With a limited amount of arable land, new laws are passed to limit who can own what land, with the intention being to produce as much food as possible. These laws prove somewhat unpopular with common farmers, but they still keep their jobs in most cases. We request an alliance with Prussia, feeling that it would benefit both countries.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We would also like a ceasefire with Denmark-Norway for the time being, in order to establish friendly agreements.

1802.5

The Tories win the United Kingdom general election.

Piedmont officially becomes part of France.

Sweden and Tripoli sign a peace treaty. However, America still remains at war with Tripoli.

    • The Tlingit request a trade deal and alliance with the Russians, offering to help them colonize Alaska.
  • Kingdom of Sweden The King and his council still want to achieve alliances with Great Britain or Prussia against Napoleon and sign cease-fires with Russia and Denmark-Norway, but we also want to improve our relations with Denmark-Norway. We also propose more trade with the Americans, and with the Austrians as well. Internally, we try to improve infrastructure and the army.
    • The Kingdom of Naples: Offers Sweden an alliance against Napoleon following the French annexation of Piedmont.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: The Kingdom of Sweden happily accepts Naples' offer, and proposes trading Swedish fish and Neapolitan potatoes.
    • Neapolitan Diplomacy: King Ferdinand accepts the trade offer of fish for potatoes.
    • Austrian Diplomacy: The Archduchy accepts the proposition of increasing trade.
    • Russian Diplomacy: The request for a ceasefire is accepted by the Russian Empire.
  • 'Kingdom of Naples: Improve military and infrastructure. Following the annexation of Piedmont by Napoleon, the Kingdom of Naples declares full mobilization and offers the Kingdom of Sicily an alliance against Napoleon. King Ferdinand declares mobilization to stop the "French takeover of Italy" and begins looking at possible technological advancements in the military.
    • Kingdom of Sicily Diplomacy: Sicily agrees to an alliance against the French.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: King Gustav IV Adolf would like to propose a betrothal between King Ferdinand's one-year old granddaughter Maria Theresa and his three-year old son and heir Gustav, Prince of Vasa.
    • Neapolitan Diplomacy: The King accepts the betrothal offer from Sweden, marking the beginning of a Personal Union.
  • Kingdom of Sicily: Parliament continues to focus on building up Sicily's economy. Plans are made to build new roads and harbors to increase trade, as well as build up local industries. Infrastructure/economy.
  • Bavaria: Improves military and infrastructure. Conscription is introduced and we begin to modernize the army. Across the country roads are improved. We look to improve relations with our neighbors and offer The Archduchy of Austria a trade agreement
    • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to the trade agreement.
  • Ryukyu Kingdom: Improves economy and infrastructure. The people of Ryukyu rejoice at the Chinese decision to protect what we hold dear to our hearts. Although we question is this a military alliance or a vassalization? We are fine with either, but if Qing decides to vassalize us, we need to know how much influence the Chinese will have on our island so we do not anger you.
  • Archduchy of Austria: Emperor Francis II orders an improvement of the armed forces, with plans to raise our army to a strength of 200,000 men. Conscription is only to be used in some cases, first, we try to recruit people voluntarily instead of requiring them to join. The army begins training exercises. Meanwhile, the infrastructure continues to be improved, with new buildings and roads constructed across the nation.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Hungarians are given more prominent positions in the national government of the Archduchy. The Hungarian language is more widely accepted to keep the population satisfied. Recruitment of ethnic Hungarians into the Imperial Austrian Army begins.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Infrastructure is improved. The Czech language is more widely accepted. Recruitment of ethnic Czechs into the Imperial Austrian Army begins.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: Infrastructure is improved. The Croatian language is more widely accepted, and several Croatian language schools are opened, even. Recruitment of ethnic Croats into the Imperial Austrian Army begins.
  • Portuguese Empire: We improve military and economy. We attempt to expand our control of India along the coast of the Arabian Sea. We authorize conscription in case of war with France. Portugal, seeing the strength of France, offers France an alliance, noting that if France agrees, a joint invasion of Spain will occur. Peter III is king and Maria I is queen.
    • All Colonies: Infrastructure and economy.
    • Persian Diplomacy: The Empire offers co-operation with the Portuguese Empire regarding influence in the Arabian Sea.
    • Portugal: We would like to establish trade with Persia and fully recognize its independence. Nonetheless, we will continue to colonize India, but nowhere else on the Arabian Sea.
    • Persian Diplomacy: Commerce with Portugal is happily welcomed.
  • Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire begins to improve its economy and build up its military. With growing of the Russian and Austrian threat, the current Sultan Selim III asks France and Sweden for an alliance and trade agreement. Sunni Islam rises in popularity and gains more followers. As Selim III continuing his reign as sultan and looking to establish closer economic partnership with various European states to grow the nation into the major worldwide power, the Ottoman Empire begins to westernize. The Ottoman Empire expands into the Sahara Desert by 500 px.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We politely decline the alliance, but we will accept trade.
  • United States of America: We send diplomats to Paris urging them to consider our offer regarding the purchase of Louisiana Territory. We also offer France a trade deal. The United States, keen on becoming a great power in a world dominated by Europe, desires a colony of its own and sends 100 colonizers escorted by 50 troops across the Atlantic and land at some place in Western Africa (OTL Liberia, and am I allowed to do this?). The United States improves greatly on her economy, increasing the amount of exports to other countries. More farms and pastures are built to sustain the need for food in the country. Cotton and tobacco farms are built on the northern part of the country to diversify each state's economy. America passes a law regarding this generation of slaves to be the last: No more slaves shall be recognized by the government after this year and slave owners will be paid handsomely if they comply with this law before the year ends. The United States also desires to be an industrial behemoth on par with the British Empire, and embarks on a country-wide industrialization process with the aim of building factories to increase industrial output. Research on steamboat technology begins. America also sends diplomats to Tripoli and see if they can negotiate a peace.
    • Tripoli accepts.
    • Liberia was actually formed around this time, so this is technically allowed, but it would be way more likely that the US establishes an "independent" colony.
  • Denmark-Norway: Agriculture reforms continue, and food production is at an all time high. We continue to build up out military, focusing especially on new technology and tactics. We begin colonial expansion, with several operations starting. Firstly, We 500 pixels into Greenland, hoping to find more arable land and resources. In addition, expedition are sent to northern Canada, in order to establish a colony in the OTL Queen Victoria islands. Another expedition is sent to Africa, although this expedition does not intend to establish a colony, but rather map out more of Africa for future colonial expansion. We accept Sweden's offer from last year and offer a trade deal to them.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We accept Denmark's trade deal.
  • The Tlingit: Focus on centralizing and uniting for protection from colonizers. The Tlingit form an alliance designed to enable them to unite against possible conquest attempts, and agree to have a common foreign and defence policy. To given this alliance, the Tlingit form a council of chieftains. Numerous Tlingit bands remain outside the nascent confederacy, however. The Tlingit continue to adopt European agriculture and technology, which fuels a population boom. Tlingit blacksmiths begin to produce metal tools independently, including, for the first time, a few primitive muskets.
  • The Portuguese Colony of Brazil continues to grow, with a population standing at 3.3 million. The nation remains mostly agricultural, with slave labour being the driving force of the economy. More Later when I get the chance.
  • Persian Empire: Colonization in Central Asia begins to increase in pace, and Persia expands by 415 px in Central Asia in a manner to build corridors of Persian control and seize access to
    Persian capsian

    Persia's intended colonial corridors.

the Aral. The army and navy continue large build ups, and new weapons are based on attempted reproduction of Swedish arms that were sold to the Empire, though this is done on a small scale. Productions of goods for exports continue, with fine rugs, opium, and spices driving making up the most of exports, but the Shah decides to open up large kilns and subsidize the education of fine craftsmen, thus allowing the ability to export fine clay pottery.
    • Persian Espionage: The Empire sends spies into the Chinese Empire in attempt to steal silkworms to bring back to Persia (RNG NEEDED).
    • RNG: (1-6 fail) (7-10 success) = 10, Persian spies are successful in stealing silkworms.

1803.0

The first practical steamboat is built in Scotland. Ohio is granted Statehood. Tensions mount between Britain and France as France refuses to withdraw from Dutch territory. The Swiss confederation replaces the Helvetic Republic.

I really think we need an active player for France, Prussia, Spain and Britannia. Upvote, Wrto, Killer-f111 and Saturn are not posting, and this game is bound to fail if there is no one posting for these nations. I mean, this entire game is based on the Napoleonic Wars and you're just ignoring many major nations ... -Rimp

If they don't post by the end of this turn they will be kicked. -Dream

The Russian delegate to the Tlingit accepts their request for a trade deal and an alliance. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Baltic Governates: Major investments were made into the Ports of Klaipėda and Ventspils, in order to divert traffic towards the Port of St Petersburg. A small military force of 40,000 men was also established. [Mil/Eco Turn]
  • Kingdom of Sweden: In response to France refusing to withdraw from Dutch territory, we openly declare multiple trade sanctions against Napoleon. We also will now accept an alliance from any country who wants to prevent Napoleon from getting any stronger, and we will primarily focus on building up and improving the army and infrastructure of Sweden. We also propose an alliance with Russia, Prussia and/or the United Kingdom if possible.
  • Bavarian Diplomacy: Faced with the threat from Napoleon we offer an alliance to Sweden.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We gladly accept.
  • Denmark-Norway: Worried about France, and seeing great value in an alliance with our neighbors, we offer an alliance with Sweden.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We accept Denmark-Norway's offer.
  • Sicilian Diplomacy: Since we are already allied with Naples an alliance between us would make sense.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We also accept Sicily's offer.
  • Russian Diplomacy: The Russian Empire accepts the Swedish offer of an alliance, but is generally opposed to the formation of a military alliance against France and as such, Russia shall not intervene if Sweden invades France. However, if a French invasion of Sweden were to take place, Russia would in that case help Sweden defend its borders.
  • Bavaria: With the threat of war growing conscription is increased. We continue to improve infrastructure. On the western border with France we begin the construction of a series of forts. Finally we offer a defensive alliance to the states of Baden and Wurttemberg against France.
  • Baden accepts.
  • Wurttemburg accepts.

'Ryukyu Kingdom: Improves economy and infrastructure. The Kingdom continues to collect money and improve roads, while the citizens just casually live their days. With no threat of war, the country seems relatively at peace, and so the adults work and the children play knowing that the islands are safe. Kingdom of Sicily: Money is invested into building new harbors and roads. With war possibly on the horizon, the size of our army is increased and a new fleet begins construction.

  • Denmark-Norway: Reforms in farming continue, with production remaining high throughout the country. We continue expansion in Greenland, though it is slowed slightly, so we only expand 200 more pixels in. Improvements in military continue, with our military standing at a solid 130,000 men on active duty. We successfully set up a small colony in northern Canada, and name it (admittedly uncreatively) North Canada. The mapping of Africa is a success, but due to the hostile environment and inhabitants, it is decided to make no colony there. Instead, ships are sent to OTL Indonesia, where trading begins with the natives, especially for spices and local products.
    • No Danish colony in Canada by this time, sorry.
    • If you want some colonies you are already in control of some African colonies so you could start to expand there. -Dream
  • Persian Diplomacy: The Shah offers the Danish easy port access and fine commodities for cheap in return for a steady supply of modern armaments.
  • Archduchy of Austria: Francis II would like to remain neutral in the dispute between France and Britain. We continue building up our land forces, nearing the objective of 200,000 men. We begin conscripting in some regions into the army. The economy continues to also be improved.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Hungarians are given more prominent positions in the government, and the Hungarian language gets more widely accepted. Some conscription takes place.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Infrastructure is improved. Some Czechs are drafted into the Imperial Army.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: Croatian language is more widely accepted to keep the people happy. Some Croats are drafted into the Imperial Army. Infrastructure is also developed.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We offer Austria a trade agreement: Swedish timber and various building supplies for Austrian ammunition.
  • United States of America: 'We send more Americans - mostly newly-freed slaves - to Liberia and begin to set up settlements for colonization (A mod, I think, told me that Liberia would be an 'independent' colony'. Can someone please clarify?) The United States, keen on establishing itself as a great power, begins to increase the capabilities of the military by passing a law requiring all citizens to serve a year in the military during the age of 18. Muskets and cannons start to be produced. Work on a navy begins as well with five frigates laid down to begin construction. Steamboat research receives more funding after the government learns of the one in Scotland. The first U.S Steamboat is expected to set sail within U.S rivers in the next six months. The United States also improves its infrastructure, with public schools and universities built en masse to educate the American populace. Roads are built between major Eastern Seaboard cities to make traveling efficient. Research on a steam locomotive engine begins, and the first train powered by it is expected to be built within the next two years. (We further express our desire to purchase Louisiana Territory from France in exchange for a negotiable price and favorable trade deals).
  • Mod: Liberia will be an independent colony, but it will be in your sphere of influence and therefore a puppet state of yours.
  • So Liberia will be my vassal? And does that mean I can expand its borders?
  • Mod: Yes to both.
  • Portuguese Empire: We improve military and economy. We attempt to expand our control in Africa, especially on the Southwest coast (Angola). We authorize conscription in case of war with France. Portugal, seeing the strength of France, offers France an alliance, noting that if France agrees, a joint invasion of Spain will occur. Peter III is king and Maria I is queen. We offer Brazil a special state of political independence but still a required alliance and economic dependency.
  • Persia: The Empire continues to expand by 420 px into Central Asia in the form of corridors. Exports and military spending continue to climb.

The first public railway is built in England.

Haitian revolutionaries defeat French forces at the Battle of Vertières, forcing the withdrawal of French troops from the island.

Persian spies are able to smuggle silkworms out of China and back to Persia.

America and Tripoli sign a peace treaty, bringing an end to the Berber War.

  • Russian Empire: Tsar Alexander I ascended the throne and was proclaimed the Emperor of the Russian Empire in 1802. His early decisions included the Russian Government Reform of 1802 and the implementation of a new currency system which was to be the well-regulated ruble. Major exports of the Empire included coal, iron, zinc, platinum, copper, lead, etc. The Russian Empire expands into Central Asia by 450 px and Alaska by 50 px. The Russian Empire declares war upon the Persian Empire, and launches a major attack. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Baltic Governates: Major investments were made into the Ports of Klaipėda and Ventspils, in order to divert traffic towards the Port of St Petersburg. A small military force of 40,000 men was also established. [Mil/Eco Turn]

'The Kingdom of Naples: Military and economy turn. The Neapolitan King backs up Haitian rebels, recognizing them as an independent state to show their dislike for France. The Neapolitan King considers deploying troops to Haiti.

  • Swedish Diplomacy: We fully support Naples's decision, and we also support the Haitian rebels.
  • Bavarian Diplomacy: We offer Naples an alliance.
  • Neapolitan Diplomacy: King Ferdinand accepts Bavaria's alliance offer.

Kingdom of Sweden: In response to the Battle of Vertières, we declare our utmost support for the Haitian rebels, and we grant them war subsidies. We also abolish all forms of Atlantic slave trade, which we predict will put a small dent in our flourishing economy. We will still focus on improving and creating more divisions in the army, and once we are ready, will deploy half of all or troops to our territory in Pomerania. We also focus on building more factories in Sweden and generally improving the infrastructure of the country. We also will still accept any alliance offer that wants to stop Napoleon's actions, but offers from Prussia or the United Kingdom would be greatly appreciated.

  • Portugal: Asks for an alliance against Napoleon.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We definitely accept.

Denmark-Norway: With enough food for our country, most agriculture additions stop, although they are at a level we Deem enough for continued economic growth. Trade in Indonesia proves extremely successful for our nation. As a result, in Indonesia, trade is continued with the natives, with several more trading posts established. We expand our trading base to India, were several posts are created to trade with the land not occupied by the British. We also send traders to China, with hopes of establishing a trade agreement with the empire. We agree to Persia's offer from last turn, and hope the deal will work out for both of us.

Archduchy of Austria: The training and arming of the Imperial Army continues, which has reached 200,000 men. The industry is improved to produce more goods. We accept Sweden's offer of trade.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.

Persia: Manufacturing of goods increases significantly after the first few silkworm plantations are built, and kilns continue to be completed and artisans taught. The Shah decides to spend this money on benefiting the Persian people, and begins a thorough road building program across the Empire. The rest of the money is spent on employing foreign experts to help keep Persia modern, and they immediately begin looking into mass production and railways, which are years to come. Expansion continues into Central Asia at a rate of 420 px in strategic corridors. The colonies are re-inforced.

  • Persian Secret Diplomacy: An offer is sent to Portugal, proposing that Portugal join in an upcoming war against the Durrani Empire, in which Portugal will receive the port of Karachi as compensation.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We propose an alliance between ourselves and Persia, and even more trade agreements.
    • Persian Diplomacy: Persia accepts, hoping that Sweden interfere in the war with Russia.
    • Russian Diplomacy: Russia reminds Sweden that an alliance already exists between Russia and Sweden and it should pay no heed to the Persian requests. It would surely make no sense for Sweden to interfere in favour of backward Central Asian state, in opposition to the Russian Empire given that the threat of Napoleonic France exists on the horizon.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We shall stay neutral in the conflict.
  • Chinese Dip: We can assist in dealing with the Durrani, although we are kind of a little behind. We also would like to establish relations with Sweden via Persia. We also demand the silk worms be returned NOW or it's war!
    • If China did know about it, they would not threaten war
  • Portuguese Dip: We accept this offer for war with the Durrani Empire,
  • American Dip: We would like to purchase silk from Persia should they start to produce it.
    • Persian Diplomacy: Persia would be happy to supply America with silk as production normalizes in the coming years.

Bavaria: With the threat of war growing conscription is increased. We continue to improve infrastructure. On the western border with France we begin the construction of a series of forts. Following Sweden's lead we declare multiple trade sanctions against France.

Sicily: The harbors and roads continue construction, as well as the expansion of our fleet. With a good fleet we hope to expand our commerce and hopefully eventually establish colonies.

Qing: (Since my last post was not crossed out, I am assuming that it can be accepted. Mod response on this, please) We are very angry at the Persians for smuggling the silk out of China. We demand the worms back and reparations. We order a (rapid, if possible) expansion into the black area east of us. The Korean invasion is canceled. Mil and eco turn.

  • China would probably never know about it.

Portuguese Empire: We improve military and economy. We attempt to expand our control in India, especially on the Arabian Sea. We authorize conscription in case of war with France. Peter III is king and Maria I is queen. We offer Brazil a special state of political independence but still a required alliance and economic dependency. We begin sanctions on France.

  • Persian Empire Diplomacy: The Empire hopes that the Portuguese will intervene in the War of Russian Aggression.
  • The only European power that has interest in the region other than Russia is the UK, and they wouldn't intervene due to France's power in Europe.

United States of America: We send more Americans, mostly newly-freed slaves, to Liberia. The first U.S made Steamboats start to travel along the Hudson River and around Manhattan Island, greatly hastening the transportation of goods and to maximize efficiency. This, along with increased government investments on the economy, particularly on the agriculture and trading sectors, greatly boost the American economy. The American military, keen on becoming the most powerful in the Americas, starts to embark on a period of rapid modernization to catch up with the rest of the world. More cannons and muskets are produced as the army grows to encompass 150,000 men. The five frigates laid down are halfway finished and an additional three more start to be made. Steam Locomotor research continues. We send delegates to Paris to discuss the offer made by the American government regarding the purchase of Louisiana territory. We offer a negotiable price and favorable trade deals to France as payment if they accept.

  • Liberia Territory: Liberia expands her borders by 300 px (too high?) along the coast. In order for the territory to support the massive influx of people from the mainland, infrastructure becomes the top priority as houses and public utilities, along with educational and recreational facilities are constructed. Roads are built along the area to ease traveling. The increase of people prompts the construction of a factory to supply them with basic amenities. The construction projects has prompted people to work, which gives them money to spend, thus fueling economic growth.
  • Too high - the most you can do at the moment is about 25 px due to the fact you just started to colony last turn. -Dream
  • France accepts the United States' offer. We are willing to sell Louisiana for $15 million and favourable trade deals.

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire continues to improve its economy and build up its military. Sunni Islam rises in popularity and gains more followers. As Selim III continuing his reign as sultan and looking to establish closer economic partnership with various European states to grow the nation into the major worldwide power, the Ottoman Empire continues to westernize. The Ottoman Empire expands into the Sahara Desert by 500 px, with a few new cities built and roads built between old and new cities. Selim III continues to plan new reforms for Morocco and continues heavily investing in technology and science.

Morocco is independent

France: Following the Haitian revolt we withdraw all troops for the island and abolish slavery again to prevent any further slave rebellions. However, plans are made to recapture the island. Napoleon creates his grand army, it numbers 350,000. The army is sent to amass on the border with Germany. We expand out economy and industry to catch up with those of our neighbours.

  • Italian puppet states: The military and economy is expanded. The grand Italian army is created, totaling 40,000.
  • Bavarian Republic: The military and economy is expanded. The army is expanded to 30,000 men. Dutch colonies are improved and expanded.
  • Neapolitan Diplomacy: The Kingdom of Naples warns Napoleon not to expand farther into Italy.
  • French Dip: We demand the dissolution of the Third Coalition. Otherwise, war will occur between France and the Coalition.
  • Neapolitan Diplomacy: King Ferdinand refuses to dissolve the Third Coalition.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: As the leader of the Third Coalition, Sweden promptly refuses to dissolve the Coalition and orders mass mobilization across the country.
  • The Portuguese Colony of Brazil continues to grow, with a population standing at 3.3 million. The nation remains mostly agricultural, with slave labour being the driving force of the economy. More Later when I get the chance.

1804

Haitian rebels declare independence as the Empire of Haiti

Serbian nationalists begin a revolt against the Ottoman empire. In the hope of establishing their own nation.

Napoleon Bonaparte is proclaimed emperor of France.

Russian Empire: Tsar Alexander I ascended the throne and was proclaimed the Emperor of the Russian Empire in 1802. The Russian Empire expands into Central Asia by 450 px and Alaska by 50 px. The Russian Empire achieves a decisive victory over the Persian Empire within a span of six months, and the Persian capital of Tehran is captured by the Russian Army. Subsequently, diplomats are sent to the Persian court to negotiate a Treaty of Peace on behalf of the Russian Tsar. [Mil/Eco Turn]

  • Baltic Governates: Major investments were made into the Ports of Klaipėda and Ventspils, in order to divert traffic towards the Port of St Petersburg. A small military force of 40,000 men was also established. [Mil/Eco Turn]
  • You basically occupy the Western quarter of the country, but you don't have the capital

French Empire: With the crowning of Napoleon as emperor, the French Republic is replaced by the French empire, though Napoleon assures the people that France will not return to the days of aristocratic rule. The army stands at 350,000 men. With the collapse of peaceful negotiations France declares war on Sweden and by extension the Third Coalition. 200,000 troops are sent into Germany, 50,000 are sent into Italy and 100,000 are sent into Austria (but only if Austria is at war with me, if not then those troops will be sent into Germany).

  • Italian puppet states: 40,000 troops are sent alongside French forces to invade the Papal States, Naples and Sicily.
  • Batavian Republic: 30,000 men are use invade Germany alongside French forces.

Kingdom of Sweden: In response to being declared war on by Napoleon, we call all of our allies in the Third Coalition to join us. We also gather all of our ships in the port of Gothenburg, which comes to about 90 ships in total. We put our best naval admiral, Johan af Puke in charge and we begin to patrol the North Sea in search of any French navies. We send half of our army (about 30,000) to our territory in Pomerania under the leadership of King Gustav, and we order the other half of the army to divide into multiple smaller armies and defend the coast of Sweden, and we now primarily focus on building up and conscripting more men into the army and navy.

'The Kingdom of Naples: Military and Economy turn. Naples declares war on the French Empire following their invasion of Sweden. Naples launches an all out invasion of France, marching into the French puppet states in Italy. We call for Sicilian aid to liberate the Italian puppet states from French control.

  • Sicily: A 7000 strong army is sent to aid in the campaign.

Portugal: We begin by declaring war on France as an extension of our alliance with Sweden. We call on anyone who can to ally against France. As a result of this war, we postpone our plans for war with the Durrani Empire, but hope for this to happen after the war of the Third Coalition. Portugal expands its military, especially its navy to prevent a sea invasion, as well as its infrastructure. We also build forts on the border with Spain. By extension of our declaration, we hope for Brazil to join us in war with France and to conquer the French colonies on the Southern Caribbean.

  • Persian Diplomacy: The Empire informs Portugal that the war with the Durrani Empire is going to take place within five years (depending on the peace with Russia).

Qing: A spy is dispatched to Persia just in case. We take interest in the conflict in Europe but stay at a distance. mil and eco turn

Sicily: Sicily joins the war against France. All able-bodied men are called to serve in the growing Grand Army of Sicily, which is sent north to aid Naples and the Papal States in their fight. Our industry is expanded to meet the growing need for weaponry and ammunition.

Archduchy of Austria: Francis II is alarmed by the aggression of France against Germany and other states in the region. Austria declares war on France and orders a full mobilization. The Imperial Army, which is 200,000 strong, recently trained, is deployed. 150,000 men are sent to the northern and western borders, to meet any French forces that attack. 50,000 men are dispersed throughout the rest of the country and on other borders. A draft is ordered, with an additional 100,000 men from across the country being called up to fight.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Hungarians, who have been given more power of the past couple of years, begin contributing to the war effort. Hungarian soldiers in the army are sent to the front and more volunteer or are drafted as part of the mobilization.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Some Czechs are called up for service in the Imperial Army.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Some Croats are called up for service in the Imperial Army.
  • Bavarian Diplomacy: We offer Austria military access to help fight the French.
  • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree and send an expeditionary force of 50,000 men to link up with Bavarian forces.

Bavaria: War is declared on France and the army is fully mobilized. We move an army of 50,000 to the western border to defend against the French invasion. Factories are expanded and ordered to produce weapon and ammo.

    1. Denmark-Norway: We declare neutrality in the war currently going on in Europe, feeling it would only harm our economy. We are, however, sympathetic to the coalition, and do see France as a major threat. We continue to build up trade across the Indian Ocean. Goods that are imported include cotton, spices, silk, various valuable gems and metals, furs in some cases, and many other goods. We look to expand our trade sphere, and offer a trade deal with Qing China. We also ask the Ottomans for free use of the Suez Canal, in exchange for an annual fee.

The Suez canal hasn't been built yet.

Persia: As the war rages on, the Shah waits for an accurate assessment of the war before deciding the next course of action. Expansion is stifled this turn to a fraction of its normal amount due to the war efforts. All Western armaments are deployed. Silk plantations continue to expand.

  1. Persian War Diplomacy: As the Empire is obviously losing (though to an arguable extent), the Shahs offer to negotiate a peace deal with Russia, though warns that he is very unwilling for any more land cessions.
  2. Russian Diplomacy: The Russian diplomat to the Persian Empire informs the Persian Shah that he is in absolutely no condition to warn the Russian Empire over anything or issue any threats, and should either peacefully cede the required territory to the Russian Empire or it shall be forcefully taken away.
    1. That wasn't a threat, it was setting up the negotiating table. That means what you just said is a non sequitor. Also, it wouldn't be peacefully ceded, there was just a freakin' war.
    2. Considering the algorithm was jacked, I'm not going to recognize it as you actually getting nearly 40%
    3. Also, now would be the time to be offering deals to end the war, not making vague out-of-place threats.
  3. Personally, idgaf that you're a Treaty of Amiens Moderator but you can't just cross out my Diplomacys like that. I'll say what I want. Moreover, I am not taking 40% of Persia but even if I were to, there's nothing you could even do to stop it. One more thing, given that Tehran is like pretty close to the Caucasus, I doubt it would not get captured. The Persians were forced to sign the humiliating Treaty of Turkmenchay in OTL after the Russians threatened to capture Tehran in five days, so yeah, it's not that difficult to take over your capital. In any case, I don't even feel like arguing about it, since you have been decisively defeated and I'll impose some pretty harsh terms on you. Of course I don't really care if you choose not to sign it. It's not like you're in the position to argue anyway.
  4. I crossed out what was ASB, that's my job. Your diplomacy made almost no sense, and led to no other form of extended dialogue. Also, in OTL the Iranians didn't have weapons from Portugal and Sweden. Your harsh terms are probably going to be ASB if they're based off of that ridiculous algo, in which place I may not abide by them.
  5. It wasn't ASB. It was Russia reminding a crippled and defeated Persia to keep its mouth shut. As for you constantly speaking about weapons from Europe and all... Do you know that even if Sweden exported an atomic bomb to you, there is absolutely no modifier in the algorithm to give you a bonus for that. Now that you know, please stop whining about Sweden and Portugal sending you weapons. Finally, as for the Treaty, it doesn't matter whether you abide by it or not. The Germans didn't like the Tteaty of Versailles either but they had to sign it. Doesn't matter if you don't sign it, Dream will just sign it instead.
    • No country has ever done anything like that diplomatically, so, yeah, it's ASB. Also, it's not about if I like the treaty, it's about whether or not it's reasonable or ASB. This is something we can negotiate about, but you haven't even proposed terms yet, but you just keep saying you basically roflstomped my capital in six months, which is BS. Western weapons make massive changes in wars, like keeping Ethiopia independent. I'm not even saying I should get some lightweight surrender, but the loss in the algo is BS, and you need to propose things so we can freakin' negotaite first. Also, do not uncross anything again. You're not a damn mod, and people (including myself literally during the first turn of the war) have had diplomacy crossed out.

United States of America: We purchase Louisiana territory from France and start trading with them. We urge the populace to settle westward into new American territory and into Liberia. We grant OTL Louisiana State admission into the Union with its capital at New Orleans while the rest of the purchased territory is granted territory status with the name New America. Due to the doubling of the land area of the United States, infrastructure is improved as roads, homes, and other buildings, most importantly factories, are constructed along the Eastern Seaboard and other coastal areas to support travel to New America and the American South. Steamboat commerce becomes widespread, especially in the Mississippi River to transport goods to Louisiana to start industrializing it. Our first steam locomotor is expected to be made within the next two years. Military is improved as well, with the army increasing to 250,000 active soldiers armed with muskets and cannons. Advanced strategy and tactics start to be employed to increase combat effectiveness. The navy also sees massive expansion as four Frigates now roam the coasts while one is sent to Liberia. Three frigates continue construction with six more ordered in. We see the efficiency of steamboats and wish to see them used in combat, so research on combat steamboats begins as well. (infra/eco)

  • Colony of Liberia: Liberia expands her borders by 25 px along the coast. Infrastructure is improved due to the increasing population of the colony, currently at 100,000. Housing and livelihood projects are started to give immigrants liveable conditions when working in the country. The economy greatly improves as more jobs are created by the construction and trade businesses as we begin to export timber and iron ore to the mainland. Explorers roam the countryside to discover valuable natural resources. We begin construction of the colonial capital city, Liberty. (OTL Monrovia) (infra/eco)
  • Territory of New America: New America expands her borders by 25 px along the Spanish border as we wish to gain access to the Pacific Ocean. We communicate with the Native Americans in the area and offer them peaceful integration into American society or to live in reservations where they will be provided for. Despite the warm-hearted offer we give to the Natives, we organize a police force of 100 men to guard new settlers and trade routes from bellicose Natives. Muskets and horses are brought in from the mainland. Settlers discover the fertility of the land in the area, and begin constructing farms for corn, wheat, soybean, and other crops and plants. (mil/eco)

Kingdom of Spain: The prime minister Manuel Godoy's illicit relationship with the queen is found out by servants of the infant Fernando, who reports it to his father, the king Charles IV. The king refuses to take mesures however, to which his son threatens to make the matter public to the country; Charles IV has to concede to his son's desires (which are highly influence by the hatred towards the prime minister the infant has) and relegates Manuel Godoy from his post. This is well met by the nation, since many spaniards, specially inside the court thought that Godoy was gaining too much power. This makes a change in the foreign policy of Spain, since the former prime minister was francophile, while the infant Fernando is more keen to an alliance against France. The king however doesn't fall for his son's desires this time, since he doesn't want to bring Spain to a war, due to the crippling economy caused by the inflation due to all the gold and silver coming from the Americas. Spain looks to renew the mutual assistance and protection treaty signed with Portugal in 1793. Following portuguese diplomats advice, Spanish military engineers begin building small forts and defenses along the Pyrenees main mountains passes, the biggest of them standing vigilant over the Roncesvalles pass. New Minister of the Army, Feliciano Santamarca, starts small changes to pave the road for a later general army reform; one of those changes is the beginning of the Royal Guard, the Walloon Guards, intensive training for combat. (Both last events constitute an Military improvement). The iron mines in the Basque and Navarran provinces are improved for enhanced material extraction. A drydock starts being constructed in the natural harbor of El Ferrol in the province of Galicia; there is a small extension made to the port of Seville and Cadiz as well (Economic improvements). America's viceroyalties' actions centre around improvement in the management of the mines and ports as well as the communications between both two (Improvements to infrastructure and economy in all American vassals) Word comes to the SSpanish court of a design presented to the British government many years ago, spread through the word of a merchant that bought a strange weapon from a marchet in St. Lucia (the vendor presumed that it was from a British invasion force that tried to seize the island almost 100 years ago). After this merchant's return to Seville, the arsenal officer from the city bought the weapon after seeing it unloading from one of the merchantships; he sent it to Madrid for study. The army staff concluded that it was best to ask UK for the original blueprints.

  • United States Dip: Seeing as Spain is currently suffering economic woes, would you be willing to sell any territory bordering the U.S or former Louisiana Territory? We also offer you a trade deal regardless of your respones to the first question.
  • Spanish government: This proposal takes by surprise the court in Spain since some ministers already had proposed the king to sell Florida to the US. We are very interested in opening negotiations to sell the territory of La Florida to the US. However we would like to keep the small peninsula that encloses the Tampa Bay in western Florida to build a protected port as means to easy trade between our countries and have a safe post for our ships traveling the area. We however advice caution when handling the Seminole indians which populate part of the Peninsula. Which would be the first offer of the US government to buy the territory? We accept the trade agreement regardless the final result of the negotiations.
  • United States Dip: We propose to buy Florida (except Tampa Bay) for a price of $5 million (negotiable, but I will not go pass $6 million). We also promise humane treatment of the Seminole Indians should Spain agree to sell Florida. We will also start trading with Madrid (on the next turn)
  • Portuguese Dip: We accept the mutual assistance agreement, and urge Spain to build up an army on the border with France in case of invasion.
  • Spanish Government: We accept selling La Florida for $5.1 million, being the $0.1 invested in the initial developement of the new port of San Pedro in Tampa Bay. The spanish colonists should be allowed to become citizens of the U.S and renounce to their spanish citizenship should they wish, or be facilitated transportation to the new settlement in Tampa Bay should they not. We insist to bewhare from the native Seminole Tribes, because they bear a great hostility towards white men.
  • Spanish diplomat to the UK: We ask to buy British weapon documments and blueprints from 1700 to 1740 (MOD answer needed)
  • Britain: We are willing to sell some of our weapon blueprints for £50,000.
  • Spanish diplomat to the UK: We agree to the payment as long as it contains the documments and blueprint desired; we ask as well for permission to make the payment in two parts: a "pre-payment" of £6000 and the rest of the payment as soon as we receive the payment from the US. This shall be done to avoid stress on the still fragile spanish economy (MOD answer needed)
  • Britain agrees.
  • United States Dip: We agree to the Spanish proposal and promise payment within six months (next turn). Spanish colonists wishing to become American citizens will be peacefully integrated into American society while those who wish to move to Tampa Bay will be granted free transportation. Spanish citizens wishing to return to their mainland from Florida will be granted a free boat ride home, free of charge.

Serbia declares independence from the corrupt and failing Ottoman Empire, and an army of Serbian freedom fighters, numbering some 50,000, begins a guerrilla campaign against the Ottomans. Diplomats are sent to Austria, Russia and Britain, requesting that Serbia is recognized as an independent nation. Massive riots break out in Belgrade and other Serbian cities, and the population is armed by the Serbian Revolutionary Army.

  • Russia Dip: We recognise Serbia as an independent state.
  • Austrian Diplomacy: We secretly recognize Serbia, hoping to weaken Ottoman Muslim control over the Balkans.

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire continues to improve its economy and build up its military, mainly the army and navy. Selim III continues to plan new reforms for the Ottoman Empire and continues heavily investing in technology and science. While Serbia is under revolution, the Ottoman army sends an army of 100,000 soldiers, 30,000 cavalries and 8000 artillery to defeat the Serbian Revolutionary Army.

    • Serbia request that Russia aid us in our war against the Ottomans.
    • Spain Diplomat: We formally invite Russia to the Treaty conference that will be held in the town of El Escorial (Madrid), it will take place at the end of next year (two turns). We will be discussing North American territories colonization issues, U.K. and the U.S. already confirmed assistance, we would like to ask that no colonial expansion is made within North America until the Treaty reaches a conclussion to prevent tensions; the rest of the assisting countries already agreed to this.
    • Russian Diplomacy: Russia rejects the Serbian request for intervention, as Russia is already signing a peace treaty with Persia. However, once Russia is prepared, we shall surely intervene if the Ottomans dare to attack again. As for Spain, the request is accepted and Russia shall expand no more.
  • Kingdom of Naples:' Infrastructure and Military turn. The Kingdomf of Naples is repelled from the Papal States by French troops and retreat into the homeland, making a defensive line along Terra di Lavoro and Contado di Molise. King Ferdinand IV requests for Austrian aid in Italy, since Austria has pushed France out of their lands.
    • Austrian Diplomacy: Francis II replies that aid will be sent to Naples by ship from Austria, and asks Italian forces to begin an offensive northwards against the French (in co-ordination with an Austrian offensive into their right flank in the north).
    • Spanish Diplomat: We would be interested in opening trade routes between our nations to foment the developement of our ports and local merchant fleets.
    • Neapolitan Diplomacy: Due to Spain siding with France in the Second War of the Coalition, Naples refuses to open trade routes with Spain.
  • Kingdom of Sweden: After months of patrolling the seas, Johan af Puke and his 90 ships found a 20-ship French navy near the town of Cuxhaven in northern Germany led by French Admiral Pierre François Étienne Bouvet de Maisonneuve, engages in combat with them and wins a decisive victory,. In Swedish Pomerania, Gustav IV Adolf and his 30,000 men recruit 200 more men in the area. In the mainland, the multiple troops that are deployed to protect the mainland are also attempting to recruit more men in their ranks. We still focus on the military and infrastructure, and we ask Prussia for military access through their land (which is mod-controlled). We also humbly ask America for an alliance, and in return we shall give them our island, Saint Barthélemy.
    • United States Dip: We decline the Swedish offer of alliance due to the populace unwanting to go to war in what they perceive as 'having no benefit to the United States'. However, should Sweden wish to sell Saint Barthelemy to us, we would gladly engage in discussions regarding the island.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We shall sell our island for 10,000 dollars.
  • Saxony wishes to improve relations with Sweden and proposes a trade deal and alliance.
  • Swedish Diplomacy: We accept both.
  • Qing- Our spies wind silkworms in Persia. We send spies to other countries. We attempt to assassinate the shah (RNG PLZ) We accept denmark norways offer. We we expand 300 px to the east, and 100 px to the west. mil and infra turn
    • RNG: 3, a Qing spy attempts to kill the Shah but is distracted by a rather sexy camel, and is caught by the authorities.
  • Archduchy of Austria: News of the victory against the French is spread across the country with celebrations. Emperor Francis II says that the war is not yet won and it is not yet time to celebrate, however. Fighting off the French, the Imperial Army sends 150,000 men on an offensive against the French right flank in northern Italy. The objective is to push the French either further west into France or to the south into the Papal States, where the French forces would be trapped between the Austrian and Italian jaws. Meanwhile, the expeditionary force in Bavaria of 50,000 men continues fighting. They are ordered to create a defensive line around Munich to defend from the advancing French. The Imperial Army has seen a recent surge in recruitment due to the victory at the front. Many young men who have not joined up are enlisting from across the country. The total strength of the army is 375,000 men (150,000 attacking northern Italy, 50,000 in Bavaria, 175,000 at home). Fears that the French, if they break through Bavaria, might reach Bohemia, cause the garrison of Bohemia to be raised to 100,000 men and defenses are being built. Secretly, Austria supports Serbian insurgents to weaken the Ottoman control of the Balkans. 75,000 men are kept on the southern border with the Ottomans in case any unrest occurs.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Hungarians celebrate at the recent success against France. Many young Hungarians join the Imperial Army in excitement.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: There is some worry that the French may reach Bohemia if they get through Bavaria, and so the defenses are strengthened to a garrison of 100,000 men (with 75,000 throughout the rest of the country). Many Czechs join the Imperial Army.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: The least affected by the war, the Croatians celebrate with everyone else at the recent success. Some more Croats join the Imperial Army.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We ask Austria for an alliance after the war.
    • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to the alliance. We purpose that a third state is invited to create a 'Triple Alliance'.
    • Serbia: Requests that Austria aid us in our war against the Ottomans.
    • Spanish diplomat: If possible, we would be really interested in joining such alliance with the objective of decreasing the power projection of Napoleon in Europe.
    • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to Spain's request and ask Sweden if they want to create a Triple Alliance of Austria, Sweden, and Spain. We also agree to Serbia's request, secretly beginning to feed Serbian revolutionaries with weapons and other supplies as well as allowing Croatian volunteers to cross the border and join the uprising.
    • Russian Diplomacy: The Russian Empire is interested in entering the Tripartite Alliance, if it could perhaps be expanded. In particular, the Russians are interested in pushing out the Ottomans from the Balkans.]
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We shall accept a Triple Alliance with Russia and Austria, and Spain if they promise to go against Napoleon.
  • Persian Empire: As some form of armistice seems to be reached, expansion into Central Asia continues at a hampered 100 px, as a thorough peace has not yet been worked out. Meanwhile, the government sends out explorers and cartographers to properly map out much of the Indian Ocean, and they take with them many crates of saffron and rugs for gifts and commerce. The road-building program continues, though it currently mainly focuses in the Southeast due to the war. The government increases funding for foregin specialists and build Persia's first set of experimental tracks in Shiraz, purely for testing uses.
    • Persian Empire Diplomacy: The legislators in the un-occupied capital ask that Russia lay out their terms to be negotiated upon, which would allow for a civil peace process. The Shah restates he is reluctant to land cessions, but is willing for more economic and political cessions
    • Russian Diplomacy: The Persians are informed that the Treaty shall be presented to them this year. If they refuse to sign the Treaty, then the Russian Empire shall capture Tehran within five days. [Happened OTL, so yeah, it is neither ASB nor implausible].
      • Capturing Tehran is ASB this time around, and Russia is not capturing it in a mere six-month campaign (unless Dreamcaster decides to rule in your favor) Persia didn't have Western armaments OTL.
      • Capturing Tehran is completely plausible, since it was going to happen in otl as well. As for your constantly mentioning the fact that you received western armaments, let me remind you that those armaments would not have as much of a decisive role as you expect. Your entire argument is literally based off the fact that you received western armaments, and those armaments have literally no value in the algorithm. It's the same as someone suggesting that they should win every war since they have the best tactics.. Makes no sense so stop crying. -Rimp
      • Congrats, you're and idiot. You can't capture Tehran unless Dream gets involved.
    • Russian Diplomacy: The Treaty of Turkmenchay is presented to the Persian court, in order for the Persian Representative to sign the peace agreement. Failure to do so by 24th of November 1804 shall result in the restart of hostilities.
      • A second incorrect algorithm isn't going to be done. We're simply going to negotiate until needed, if it goes on too long we shall have Dream moderate between us.
    • Portuguese Diplomacy: With the Russo-Persian War ending, we offer to invade the Durrani Empire together, so long as Portugal maintains the port of Karachi and all Durrani land located South of Karachi.
    • Persian Diplomacy: Persia would be willing to begin the war in a couple of years to allow for recuperation after the recent war with Persia.
  • Bavaria: Outmatched by the French army Bavarian and allied troops fall back to Munich. The army forms a defensive line around the city, preventing its capture by the French. Militia units are formed and are used to re-enforce the defenders. Against the advise of his advisers, the prince-elector refuses to leave the city, boosting the morale of the defenders. News of Austria's victories in Italy also help boast their moral. Factories continue to produce weapons and ammo for the war effort.
    • Saxony:'l' Offers Bavaria an alliance.
    • Bavarian Diplomacy: We decline an alliance for now but do offer a trade agreement.
  • Tokugawa Shogunate
    • Japanese Diplomacy: We open up the Port of Kobe to international trade with the West. We attempt to initiate talks with the United States and the United Kingdom for a trade agreement.
    • Japanese Diplomacy: We request assistance to modernise the Imperial Armed Forces. Countries who accept will be rewarded handsomely.
    • Spanish Diplomat: We offer help to the Japanese Shogunate. We wish to open relationships again since they were started in 1614. We offer to send officers to train Japanese troops as well as engineers to help Japan build its very own first modern ship. We wish to re-open the trading posts that our Kingdom once had in the cities of Osaka and Satsuma. We offer the Shogunate to build a consulate in Manila, Philippines to handle all relations between our countries and offer a safe passage for a Japanese ambassador to Spain. To prevent conflicts with the Shogunate as they happened in the past, we promise not to send any missionaries that may cause disorder in the population.
    • United States Dip: As much as the United States wishes to engage in more international trade by trading with an Asian nation, our lack of a Pacific border will make trading inefficient for both of us. However, we do invite the Shogunate to establish an embassy in Washington, D.C and a consulate in New York in exchange for an embassy in Edo.
    • Japanese response to Spain: The Empire graciously accepts the Spanish offers and sincerely hope that Japan and Spain shall be able to improve relations through these new agreements. We also accept the Kingdom's offer to establish a consulate in Manila. We have assigned an ambassador to serve in your country for the Empire. We thank Spain for their generosity and consideration.
    • Japanese response to the US: We are terribly sorry that we are not able to further trade and industrial relationships with the United States at this time. But we agree to American offers for the Empire to establish an embassy in Washington and a consulate in New York. We look forward to the arrival of your ambassador here in Edo. The Emperor and Shogun send their regards, and hope that we will be able to have trade going soon.
    • Japanese expansion: The Empire sends troops into Sakhalin and proclaim the Province of Karafuto. The Tokugawa Shogunate lays claim to the entire island and begins establishing colonies. The town of Karafuto is founded on the southern coast of the island to act as an administrative centre.
    • Portuguese Dip: Portugal asks the Shogunate for a trade agreement and a ten year non-aggression pact. We also ask to establish an embassy in Edo, in exchange for an embassy in Lisbon (or in Macau for convenience).
  • Saxony is threatened by the massive conflict occurring all around it. Hostile relations with Hessen-Kassel finally break out into open conflict this year, as Hessian and Saxon troops guarding their respective borders accidentally clash. With neither country willing to apologize, war is declared and 40,000 Saxon troops invade Hessen-Kassel. Unrest in the countryside at repressive government and high taxes grows, leading many to join the army as a way of escaping rural poverty. Noneteheless, Saxony has a highly developed (for the time) industrial economy, which the government works to improve. The Elector is killed in accident this year, leaving his wife, Maria Antonia, as de facto ruler. Saxony asks to purchase Hanover from Britain, and the Duchess proposes marriage to the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. (Mod Reponses for both).
    • British Response (MOD): Britain declines, hoping to find a more stable acquisitioner of the region.
    • Mecklenburg-Schwerin (RNG): Accepts (6)
  • With the war against Hesse progressing badly, the new elector raises taxes and implements wider conscription. This enrages the population, and unrest in the countryside boils over as the peasants rise up. Although the revolt initially stalls, a similar rising occurs in Mecklenburg (now in PU with Saxony), giving it new momentum. Linking up with Hessian troops, the rebels besiege and take Dresden and Leipzig, overthrowing the Saxon government and taking control. The peasants, who elect numerous revolutionary representatives, form a Landtag and pass a series of land reform laws.
  • Denmark-Norway: With the war raging across Europe, we offer to host a peace conference in Oslo, on neutral ground. Meanwhile, we continue to expand our trading web across the Indian Ocean, with more trading posts set up in India, Indinasia, as well as along the east coast of Africa. We establish a colony in India, on one of our trading posts, and name it India minor. However, for the most part we only trade with natives, instead of trying to establish new colony's. We begin to build up our navy, at a rate of 30 ships per year, in order to defend from any threats to trade in the Indian Ocean. We also state that we will be willing to sell supplys to any country fighting Napoleon, as long as they are paid for.
    • Duchy of Holstein: We begin to build up industry, and build ships for Denmark-Norwats navy, making as many as 10-12 ships per year.
    • India minor: This colony currently amounts to little more than a large trading post, but with many colonists coming in, hopes for expansion are bright.
    • There is no "Indinasia," and if there were I wouldn't allow you to set up colonies quite that far. Also, one does not simply send colonists to India.
    • I just noticed those ship production numbers. Your military doesn't even have enough manpower to man all of those ships, and even if you did with a heavy draft, the cost would be way to high for a barely-colonial Nordic country.
    • Spain Diplomat: After considering it for a while, Spain government decides to consider Greenland as a part of North America and thus invites the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway to the El Escorial conference, to be held at the end of the coming year (in two turns). In case of accepting, Denmark-Norway should stop all expansion within North America until an agreement is reached at the Treaty. Nations confirming assistance are the Russian Empire, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, all of which agreed with the conditions mentioned before.
  • wut? Spain shouldn't care at all about Greenland, especially since it really can't be expanded much more if at all.
      • Spain doesn't care at all for Greenland, but we still invited Denmark to the conference since they have colonies in North America, after all the Treaty defines ALL colonies in North America (which totally makes sense). Spain doesn't want any territories there, just to let denmark define their colonial interests in North America
  • Kingdom of Spain: A project to build a paved road network starts by building three main paved roads from Madrid, their destinations are Seville, Bilbao and Barcelona. (Infrastructure improvement). The city of Avila starts building a textile factory, with the idea in mind of using mechanic telars in the close future. The first building of Bilbao's Siderurgy Industry complex is finished and starts functioning right away, full capacity is not expected until the beginning of next year. (Both economy improvements). Having heard of the Tokugawa's interest in foreign help, a galleon is sent from Manila with a diplomate. Spanish engineers at the Royal Armory find what they were searching for in the british documents, a project made by John Puckle in early 1700s; they are not satisfied with the original design however and try to come up with some improvements for it (RNG needed). Initial tramites to make the Philippines a Viceroyalty are begun, it is expected that within three years its administration will be ready to handle partial self-government. Enlighted and liberal ideas begin to spread from Cadiz to the rest of Spain, their expansion is slowly at best. All American viceroyalties continue to improve their ports, mines and roads (Economy and Infrastructure improvements for all vassals). Colonial expansion escalates this late on the year, Equatorial Guinea expands north and south by 25 px each, along the african coast, Peru expands 100 px to the south along the Chilean coast, La Plata expands 150 px south along the Argentinian coast) and New Spain expands 50 px north along the North American west coast.
    • United States Dip: The United States and her people would be happy should we gain a Pacific Coast. We would like to engage in talks regarding OTL Washington State (it's still a black area) to prevent disputes regarding the expansion we are both partaking in.
    • Spanish Gov: Indeed, this is a matter to discuss, we propose to call a meeting in the town of El Escorial, near Madrid at the end of next year (two turns), its purpose will be discussing colonial matters regarding North America, the U.K. is to be invited too (MOD response) Until then, all colonial expansion within that zone form any of the three parties participating will be stopped (in order to prevent tensions)
    • Britain agrees to Spain's invitation.
    • United States Dip: We would like to know if OTL Oregon State is part of the Spanish Empire (can't tell because of the map). We also express our gratitude for the heartwarming Spanish reply to our plead.
    • MOD: RNG= 7, Spanish engineers are successful. Also the America, Spain doesn't own Oregon.
    • Sicily: Once fighting has concluded we are willing to open trade routes between our two nations.
    • Spanish Government: We gladly accept your offer, seeing it accord with our interests. We would like to designate as the main port for our commercial exchange the city of Cartagena, and we ask if in return there is any port the Kingdom of Sicily would want us to concentrate trade in.
    • Sicilian Diplomacy: We request trade is concentrated in the cities of Palermo and Catania.
  • Serbia: Continues it's revolt against the Ottomans, with the Serbian Revolutionary Army fighting in Belgrade. Revolts in southern Serbia brings the army to over 75,000 men, with more willing to join. Armories are raided, with several weapons being sized, and given to the Serbian populace. We being trying to spread the revolt to Bosnia, in the hopes that the ethnic Serbs there will join us against the Ottomans. (Mod response)
    • RNG: 8. Serbians rise up in Bosnia, they number 30,000.
  • United States of America: We purchase Florida (excluding Tampa Bay) for $5.1 million from the Spanish Empire. We also promise peaceful integration and settlement of Spanish colonists who wish to become American citizens. Free transportation of those wishing to return to their Spanish mainland is provided by the U.S Government. The United States is slowly becoming an economic behemoth that may start to rival various European states and their empires, but there is still room for improvement. Steamboat commerce around the coasts and inland rivers prove to be a major source of economic growth as the transportation of goods, material and personnel has never been faster and this efficient. Seeing the domestic effect coastal steamboats have on the economy, a group of scientists and researchers have been tasked to develop American steamboats that are capable of crossing the North Atlantic to boost trading with Spain and France as our trading with the Colony of Liberia is still powered by wind and paddle. Diversifying of exports continue as more and more crops and industrial output is found and exported. More livestock, sheep, and cows are breeded to keep up with the growing population. Despite America's neutrality in the war in Europe, fears of it spilling into North America spread in the populace, but overall the people speak of 'non-intervention'. To re-assure the populace, more muskets and cannons are produced. Volunteers flood to be enlisted, and the size of the army increases to 310,000 active soldiers. Research regarding advanced muskets (rifle prototypes) and repeating revolvers is conducted by military scientists to modernize the American military. The navy currently has ten frigates patrolling the coasts with one in Liberia. The new six frigates are halfway finished with their construction. Five more frigates are ordered into construction. We urge more people to move west into New America, south into Florida, and to the overseas colony of Liberia (mil/eco turn)
    • Colony of Liberia: Liberia expands her borders by 25 px along the coast. The colonial capital of Liberty is 33% complete. More funding goes to the infrastructure of the colony as more colonists arrive from the mainland. The funding is used to create more housing and paved roads as long as leisure buildings to support the incoming colonists. We begin mining minerals such as nickel, ore, and diamonds in addition to harvesting timber and rubber which the mainland buys in order to turn into industrial output which can help in modernizing Liberia (infra/eco)
    • Territory of New America: We expand along the Spanish border by 25 px. An abundance of natural resources and incredibly fertile land and government support fueled immigration into the area as the population grows by an astonishing 14% in all of New America. Economic growth continues as more and more farms and mines are built to harvest the bounty of New America. The mainland also buys the produce we make. Infrastructure is improved as well to have the territory catch up with the rest of the U.S for eventual statehood. Paved roads are built between the largest settlements to ease transportation of goods to areas not bordering the Mississippi. Chicago, in the Illinois zone of New America, becomes the largest and most populated city outside of the mainland. Houses and trading posts are built. (infra/eco)
    • Territory of Florida: The Seminole Indians have rejected all our attempts at generosity and peace as they have launched raids into Florida and southern Georgia. We ask the mainland for policing action and protection for the settlers and colonists. We also assemble a 1000-strong militia to protect the citizens from hostile Indians, but nevertheless wish to strike a peace with them. The economy greatly improves as Florida is made into a scientific and academic haven and an area for military testing. This in turn prompts more immigrants from the mainland (mil/eco)
      • Spanish Diplomat: as we have seen the recent developement in US weapons technology and our own progress in a certainly similar matter, we propose to build a military weapons experimentation complex between the protected port of San Pedro and the region of Florida. This complex would be under a mixed jurisdiction and would serve the purpose of sharing weapon technology and further research into these matters. We propose, too, a co-operation agreement between both countries, which leaves out the obligation to assist each other in war unless wanted, for the sake of the common progress of our countries.
        • United States Dip: We agree to the Spanish proposals regarding the military complex and the mutual co-operation agreement, seeing this as one of the ways to cement the United States-Spanish Empire friendship and the further strengthening of our bilateral ties and already-formidable militaries.
  • Portugal: Portugal focuses on helping out the war in Germany, as we think this is an important battle. We blockade the ports of Cayenne and Kourou in French Guiana, and Fort de France Bay on Martinique. We offer France a peace treaty if they grant us control of Martinique and French Guina. If this is accepted, we will go to war with the Durrani Empire soon. We expand our trade ports in India and Africa.
  • France refuses, however, Austria and France are currently negotiating a peace treaty in Paris: althistory.wikia.com/wiki/Treaty_of_Paris_(Treaty_of_Amiens).
  • Sicily: Re-inforcements are sent up the Italian peninsula to aid in the fight against France, with men arriving at the Neapolitan defense lines. Our industry continues to grow, with more and more factories and businesses popping up in Palermo and smaller cities.
  • French Empire: With the crowning of Napoleon as emperor, the French Republic is replaced by the French empire, though Napoleon assures the people that France will not return to the days of aristocratic rule. The army expands to 450,000 men. More troops are sent into Germany in an attempt to break through the German defences and capture Munich. The armies sent into Austria are called back are with are reinforced to create a defensive line in northern Italy.

    • Italian puppet states: 40,000 troops are sent alongside French forces to invade the Papal states, Naples and Sicily. 30,000 troops are sent to support French troops in Northern Italy
    • Batavian Republic: 30,000 men are use invade Germany alongside French forces.

1805.0

French forces begin to advance into southern Bavaria and Naples. Austrian forces break through French defences in Northern Italy, pushing them back even further.

Serbian revolutionaries capture several key cities in Serbia and Bosnia.

European powers meet at El Escorial to define their colonial borders in North America.

The Russian Empire expands into Central Asia by 450 px and Far East by 50 px. Due to the failure on part of the Persian Empire to sign the Treaty of Turkmenchay within the specified time, Russia launches an attack upon Persia once more. Along the same time, Russian diplomats attend the El Escorial Conference. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Baltic Governates: Major investments were made into the Ports of Klaipėda and Ventspils, in order to divert traffic towards the Port of St Petersburg. A small military force of 40,000 men was also established. [Mil/Eco Turn]
    • Dax, if you try to remove out my attack, I'll just put it back there. I am afraid you are just desperate to protect Persia trying to godmod your way out of this war by arguing that somehow, I have to negotiate peace on 'fair basis' despite the fact that I just conquered 40% of Persia within six months. I'll be imposing my terms upon you now.. Sorry, but this is literally how every single Map Game works. The player gets to decide when he wants to wage war and when he wants to negotiate, not the Mod who is losing the war and Godmodding to protect himself. This war should've ended long back in 1804.5 but since you are just going to desperately cross out my turns in which I attack you, I'll just have to settle this problem once and for all. Personally, I've played numerous map games on the wiki but never had I seen a Mod so desperately abuse his powers to protect himself until now. -Rimp
    • This isn't me being a God-mod, this is you being ludicrous. We've barely even negotiated yet, and no other algo is going to be done, and the one that was done, even by Dreams admission, didn't include important factors, we're simply at the point where I lose, and I'm not even saying the war is prolonged more than it says in the algo, I'm saying the percentage is incorrect (a mods job is partially to correct things), so your 40% is bullshit. I'm trying to be reasonable here, but you're throwing a senseless tantrum with demands that make little sense. This isn't me saying that Persia isn't going to sign a treaty, but you can't just enforce one and go to war when, you, yourself are the lowest common denominator in negotiations, as I've been putting in more effort than you to get a deal on the table. This isn't me god-modding, this is you trying to god-mod, but you're not a mod, so luckily it doesn't matter if you put it back there, it will just be retconned and if these shenanigans continue I'll bring the concept of banning you from the game to Dream. Also, if this is the worst you've seen a mod, then you must not have played nearly as much as you think, because I'm being far more reasonable than you or than other mods would beDax
    • Dax Listern here, you lost, so stop being a little bitch and sign his treaty. Honestly, you're just embarrassing yourself and if you continue with your outbursts and abusing your mod status, you will have your mod status revoked. This is your first and only warning - Dream
    • Are you kidding me? I've been the only one trying to actual compromise and find a deal, and I asked you to intervene already, and Rimp has been the one completely deaf to conversation. If you think this is me abusing mod powers then I feel that you are gravely mistaken. I'm willing to sign the damn treaty, but every peace negotiation is negotiation, and Russia roflstomping a properly-armed Persia's capital in six months is BS, especially since every OTL invasion of Persia by Russia at this time took at least a few years. Also, we literally barely began negotiations, we're literally still at the beginning stages, to just begin a war because you're lagging behind your own deadlines is silly, I've been perfectly willing to try to get this issue dealt with, Rimp has been the one lagging, on the treaty page I've attempted discussion but Rimp just acts like a silent-as-stone brat. -Dax
    • Dax lets get things straight. Firstly Russia hasn't occupied your capital, but it has destroyed most of your armies. Secondly the algorithm % isn't the amount of the country occupied but it is the total war score. Thirdly you lost, hard, you are in no position to offer a counter proposal, I personally think that treaty is the best you're getting. If you want to speak with him you can talk to him in the chat and private message him.
    • To think both that the percentage doesn't matter as long as it's in his favor is ridiculous, and I don't think there have been many treaties in history between two civilized nations in which merely negotiating was completely off the table, so I think me not being able to negotiate is also ridiculous. I'm literally the only one here trying to come to a real compromise. Also, I've tried to start discussion on the Treaty of Turkmenchay page, but he's not having any discussion on that page in general. I think I've scarcely seen this type of behavior in map games in which one player insists that his terms be carried out and no discussion be had, and NEVER have I seen a player continue a war after it's finished and negotiations have begun. I'm not even saying I didn't lose hard, and I recognize my armies are probably in shambles, but that's not even what we're discussing, we're discussing the aftermath, and he's overestimating his wins in the aftermath, and I'm trying to make a deal that we'll both still agree with and he'll find suitable. Hell, I'm even offering more cessions in terms of economic and social aspects.
    • OK, discuss the treaty with him, I will put the effects of the war on hold until a deal can be reached. If he still refuses to negotiate I will talk to him.
      • Thank you -Dax
  • Saxony: The new Landtag passes an extensive series of laws designed to modernize Saxony. It abolishes serfdom, also creating a new Landwehr. Modelled on the Prussian system, this implements training for all males of a certain age, who become subject to conscription if necessary. From Mecklenburg, trade ships are sent out to the Caribbean and East Indies. Wanting to protect the small states of Germany from foreign conquest, Saxony proposes the formation of a North German League, which would protect its members from invasion or conquest by foreign countries. Each member would be obligated to asset each other in a defensive war and co-operate to some degree on foreign policy. With the HRE under the threat of dissolution, this is a highly attractive offer. It sends offers to join to Wurzburg, Baden, East Frisia, the Rhenish Palatinate, Hamburg, Wurtemmberg, Julich-Berg, Hanover (in its capacity as a German state), Oldenburg and Salzburg - (MOD RESPONSE, PLEASE). Wishing to gain legitimacy and not suffer the ire of royalist neighbours like Prussia or Russia, the Landtag sends a formal request asking the Landgrave of Hesse to assume the throne of Saxony-Mecklenburg “by right of conquest”, thus becoming King (MOD RESPONSES PLEASE).
    • Hesse agrees.
      • ''I don't think forming a North German League is quite feasible until after the Treaty of Paris is implemented.
      • Why not? None of these countries is in the war? All are threatened by the purported dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire. All have a vested interested in defending each other and not being annexed by larger neighbours. They've regularly formed leagues in the past.
      • Yes, but this is a very tumultuous time and I believe means of a German Federation are included in the Treaty of Paris.
  • Archduchy of Austria: The successes in northern Italy are highly publicized in the archduchy and the population's morale is sky high. Everyone is excited and believes that the war will soon be won. A total of 150,000 men are fighting in Italy against the French, while a total of 100,000 are fighting against them in Bavaria around Munich (an additional 50,000 are sent to aid the 50,000 Austrians already there). Out of the rest 125,000, a total of 100,000 are at the southern border with the Ottomans (aiding the Serbians by smuggling weapons and other supplies) and 25,000 are spread across the country.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Infrastructure and economy improved. Morale is high.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Infrastructure and economy improved. Morale is high.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: Infrastructure and economy improved. Morale is high.
    • Serbia: Thanks the Austrians for their support.
  • Kingdom of Spain: El Escorial is set ready for the arrivals of the first delegations from the participant countries, the entire town is busy whilst trying to offer the best possible portrait of the nation. The first siderurgy factory building in Bilbao reaches full efficiency while other two buildings are completed and start to slowly add on to the production. The textile complex in Avila goes on with its construction at good pace, and it is soon followed up by Albacete in construction of Textile industry, in Albacete however constructions starts off slowly and sees no completition date any time soon. The trade posts in Satsuma and Osaka are opened and start functioning, with trade going in and out between them and Manila, occasionally stopping by the Alphonsines or Guam. The port of San Pedro in Tampa Bay begins showing signs of growth and starts its trade functions. (all the afored mentioned, Economy improvements) Improvements to the flintlock mechanism, the shaft and the crank turned out to be a succes and allowed the design to obtain a rate of fire that surpased by 66% the original one, achieveing 15 rounds per minute under optimal conditions. The modifications are combined with a longer barrel as well as proposals for mobile mounts appart from the initial ship pintle mounted configuration. First test are carried out succesfully in the Armory of Torrejón, near Madrid and a couple of examples are embarked to the San Pedro weapons research facility. This weapon would turn out to be the world's first proto-machinegun, to honour the original designer, the weapon is to be called the "Santamarca-Puckle High speed heavy rifle" (in spanish: "Rifle pesado Santamarca-Puckle de alta cadencia"), but it starts to be casually nicknamed "Santama" by the armorers in charge of its construction. (this implies a Military improvement) The American viceroyalties continue to expand the port networksand initiate a couple of volunteer drafts, they begin to do the same military reformations in the army as the mainland (eco and mil turn for all american colonies) The "Special American Tax" (in spanish: "Impuesto Especial de las Américas") is abolished, which provokes a mostly positive reaction in all colonists which in the last years had begun thinking that the mainland didn't treat them correctly. Progress to make the Philippines a Viceroyalty is increased and is expected that in a couple of years it will be made possible. Liberal ideas reach Madrid and begin to spread through the middle classes, reaching even some members of the court, it is too soon for them to make a change, however. Equatorial Guinea expands north and south 50 px each and another 25 px towards the inland. La Plata expands 150 px South along the Argentinian coast, on the west coast Peru expands 150 px South. The territory of Philippines lands and expeditionary force in the Celebes and begins building a fort.
    • Saxony wishes to sign a trade deal with Spain, and make some arms purchases.
    • United States Dip: We wish to begin construction of the Spanish-American weapons research complex, seeing this as an opportunity to boost our bilateral ties and military prowess. We would also like some of your trading ships to trade with our colonial possession of Liberia, and in exchange, we would also send caraves and cargo ships to Spanish North America
    • Kingdom of Spain Government: We accept Saxony's proposal and prepare a cargo of weapons to be sent there, the saxon envoy is asked whether his country wishes to buy conventional weapons or some of the prototype weapons as well, which would increase the cost of the shipment. We offer the U.S. to increase the size of San Pedro's research facility in order to use it as a combined complex. We accept trading with Liberia and ask in exchange that some of the commerce would be drifted from our colonies in North America to Equatorial Guinea.
    • United States Dip: We agree on San Pedro's expansion and to send trading ships to Equatorial Guinea.
    • Saxony: Requests a shipment of both types of weapons, and will pay the higher price.
  • Kingdom of Sweden: With a peace treaty currently being negotiated in Paris, and with the threat of a French invasion of Sweden lowering constantly each month that passes by, we end mobilization efforts in Sweden and men go back home to return to their family. We deploy our navy back into the port of Gothenburg, and focus on building up Sweden's infrastructure rather than our armies. We keep our main army in Pomerania, but we send the King back to his royal home in Stockholm by ship, where he is honoured for establishing the Third Coalition against France with a parade and grand feast. We humbly ask the United Kingdom for an alliance (and not to enter in the current war), and we put the island of Saint Barthelemy up for sale so that any great power can easily purchase and buy the free-ported island.
    • United States Dip: We wish to purchase the island if Saint Barthelemy for the aforementioned $10,000 offer you made last turn
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We accept.
News of Austria's victories in Italy also help boast their morale. Factories continue to produce weapons and ammo for the war effort. Faced with the growing influence of Saxony we begin influencing our south German neighbors and plan to create and economic association with them when our war with France is over.
  • Tokugawa Shogunate: We declare to the world that we are to now be officially known as the Empire of Japan and not the Tokugawa Shogunate.
    • Japanese response to Portugal: We agree to Portugal's request and allow for a Portuguese ambassador to come to Edo to set up a Portuguese embassy. We prefer to establish our embassy in Macau. The Empire looks forward to receiving Portugal's ambassadors.
    • Japanese border definitions: For purposes of national security and the protection of the Empire's sovereignty, we declare that at this time we have jurisdiction over all Japanese home islands (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu), Sakhalin Island, and all of the Chishima Islands (OTL Kuril Islands).
    • Japanese Dip: We agree to provide protection to the Ryukyu Kingdom, under the condition that the Kingdom regularly provide young adult males to serve in the Imperial Armed Forces.
    • No offense but aren't you a 100 years too early to be doing this? I doubt you'd have control over all of that land lol...
  • United States of America: We admit the Dakota district of New America as the State of Dakota (OTL North and South Dakota)  To support the increasing amount of annexed territory we have, the industrial capabilities and infrastructure of the United States. We begin by constructing paved roads, homes and cities, mostly in Dakota, Louisiana, and the southern states to spread the infrastructure development around the country. With the research regarding our own steam locomotive engines complete, we test our first steam train along an experimental railway in New York state. The test proves to be a resounding success, and this prompts the construction of an actual series of railways along the northeast coast. This results in a rapid industrialization of the northeast coast, where half of the population lives. The largest city, New York, experienced exponential industrial growth due to being to focus of steamboat and the new steamtrain routes. The ports of Boston, New York, and New Orleans are improved and enlarged to handle the increased flow of goods from other countries. The first major road out of the Eastern Seabord is finished, linking Richmond, Virginia, to Washington, D.C. We also wish to begin construction of the joint Spanish-American weapons research complex. The American Navy currently stands at 16 frigates, with five more on the way, and seven more ordered. Three cruisers are also in production. To boost naval ship production and diversity, a new naval yard is laid down in an undisclosed location in Louisiana. This naval yard is expected to handle the construction of ten vessels per year. An experimental military steamship armed with metal platings and cannons (prototype ironclad) is launched into the Hudson River, but the tonnage and the wieght of the plating and cannons prove to be too much of a burden to the ship, as it sunk into the Hudson. This only spurred greater interest for the ship, testified by the new design which has thinner metal plating and less tonnage to improve its speed and weight. The army continues to swell as 350,000 voluntary soldiers fill its ranks. Once the desired number of 400,000 soldiers is met, the government shall stop propaganda encouraging enlistment. Explosive-tipped cannons, prototype rifles, and repeating revolvers continue to be tested. (mil/infra)
    • Colony of Liberia: Liberia expands her borders by 25 px along the coast. A series of mines and quarries are constructed to harvest the increasing mineral sources found in the country. The first few factories are constructed, with investments from the mainland. These factories are meant to supply the industrial needs of the colony. The harbor of Liberty is finished, with the city itself 56% done. A militia of 1000 colonists is set up and armed with musket imports from the mainland to protect the territory from foreign invaders or native usurpers. (infra/mil)
    • Territory of New America: We temporarily cease expansion towards the Pacific. Economic expansion continues as more and more farms are built to sustain the population. More crops, such as flax and cotton, start to be built here. The livestock from the mainland is also moved here as there is much more area for grazing. Infrastructure developments continue as more roads and houses are built. The mainland has drafted a plan for the eventual annexation of all of New America in the next six months as States. (infra/eco)
    • Territory of Florida: The Seminole Indians have proven to be an aggressive people that have no desire for mutual understanding between our peoples. This prompts the local government to increase the militia to 2000 men and to request additional weapons from the mainland. Construction of fortifications near major towns and economic centers are done for better protection against them. Cavalry patrols are authorized by the local government. Florida, despite being a U.S territory for less then five years has already experienced economic growth on par with the mainland itself due to the territory being designated as a scientific, military, and academic haven. This prompts more Americans to move to Florida (mil/eco)

Serbia: Continues its war against the Ottomans, and several of the Serbian Revolutionary Army's agents begin trying to incite revolt in the Banat and other areas with ethnic Serbs. Fighting for the freedpm of the Serbs reaches the center of Belgrade and other Serbian towns surrounding the area. In an attempt to raise more troops, the idea is made to propose that other Slavs, such as the Macedonians, rise up as well, and help to drive out the Ottomans.

Persia: Continues expansion of roads and the military. As negotiations with Russia continue, Central Asian expansion is limited to 25 px. Exports continue to increase. Funding into Western technology continues, and some plans are drawn out fora possible tram line in Shiraz.

'Kingdom of Naples: Economy and military turn. The Kingdom of Naples forms a defensive line around the capital. Meanwhile, the Italian combined troops begin marching North to attempt to link up with the Austrian forces and attack France. Operation: Pushback begins.

Portugal: We begin by improving our military and economy. We recognize Serbia, and which to set up an embassy in Belgrade. We send diplomats to Paris and El Escorial. At Paris, we demand the French to give us Marinique, Montserrat, or Guadeloupe in the peace treaty. Meanwhile, we blockade these thee islands as well as French Guiana, and hope that the French loss of money from trade and exploitation of colonists will cripple their economy until we get what we want. The royal family begins to have negotiations over a possible constitution to establish a constitutional monarchy where the king is accompanied by a parliament. We expand into the rest of Timor.

Sicily: Our military continues to re-inforce Naples in the operations against France in the Italian peninsula. The first batch of our fleet is completed and sent to patrol the Mediterranean. New mines are built to get more resources for our growing infrastructural and military needs.

1805.5

French forces begin to besiege Munich, but are forced tto retreat from southern Italy to contend with the Austrian offensive.

Lewis and Clark expedition reaches the Pacific ocean. Successfully mapping the region.

An earthquake occurs in central and southern Italy, killing 6000.

  • Kingdom of Sweden: After the celebration for the King, we primarily focus on once again re-building our infrastructure and improving our army, as we feel there is no need to engage in combat with the severely weakened French anymore. We also sell our island of Saint Barthelemy to the Americans, which ends all of our ties with the New World. However, we also propose to trade with the Americans and improve relations with them as well.
    • United States Dip: We thank the Kingdom of Sweden for selling us Saint Barthelemy. We would be more than willing to engage in trade between our two countries, but we would like your trading ships to concentrate on American Liberia, New York, and New Orleans, if possible. We would also like to establish embassies in Washington, D.C and Stockholm (If we don't have emassies yet), and consulates in New York and Helsinki.
    • Swedish Diplomacy: We accept all trade proposals, and we shall establish embassies as soon as possible.
  • Persian Empire: Continues investment into foreign technology. The army begins to properly recuperate after the war with Russia and the navy remains untouched by the war, though some funding is take out of it to aid land forces. Infrastructure continues to be improved. Exlorers sent out in the past return with maps of the coast of East Africa, India, West Indochina, and some of Indonesia and the Australian coasts; further exploratory expeditions are planned for the future.
    • Persian War Diplomacy: The Shah continues to work diligently on the Treat of Turkmenchay in hopes that a deal that both sides can agree to can be reached.
    • Amiena Karachi

Persian proposal for optimal Durrani conquest.

Persian Foreign Diplomacy: The Shah sends a crate of saffron and a fine rug to the Sultan of the Ottomans. A map is proposed to Portugal regarding the partition of the Durrani.

Empire of Japan

  • Japanese Dip: We politely remind Britain of our request for negotiations for a trade agreement. We propose initiating trade directly with your colonies in Malaya and the colony of New South Wales. We also offer the British Empire an embassy in Edo, in exchange for an embassy in London or wherever feels convenient for them.
  • Japanese Dip: We await the Ryukyu Kingdom's response to our offer of protection. Mod response required
  • Japanese military: We warmly receive the Spanish military mission. We ask the naval officers of this contingent to assist us to build our first modern warship, and those of the Spanish Army to begin training our samurai in the art of modern warfare.
  • Japanese military: We begin conscription of Edo males age 18 and above into the Imperial Armed Forces.
    • I think you're not as centralized as you think. Please keel in mind that Imperial Japan gave significant power to daimyos. I don't think daimyos would appreciate the Shogun/Empire conscripting their citizens/clansmen. Please tone such things down in the future.
    • Very well. I'll keep that in mind. However, the Empire is already starting to take power away from the daimyos. Nevertheless I'll just reduce the conscription to be restricted to Edo, where the Shogun holds direct power.
    • Ryukyu (RNG): Declines (4, 6-10 = accepts)
  • Saxon Confederacy: The newly reformed Saxon state now incorporates Hesse, Saxony and Mecklenburg, under the rule of the newly crowned Ludwig I, former Landgrave of Hesse. The new King and the revolutionary Landtag co-operate fairly well, with the Landtag ruling domestic affairs and the King controlling foreign affairs and the military. Land reform continues, with the King only too eager to dispossess his recalcitrant nobles. Influence begins on the Thuringian states, with their rulers encouraged to join the Confederacy and peasant sentiment stirred up to support this. The military grows and rearms with newly purchased Spanish weapons, which greatly impress the King. Meanwhile, trade via Mecklenburg continues to grow, and a small outpost is set up in the Bissagos Islands to trade for ivory and gold. With the Holy Roman Empire on the edge of dissolution, Saxony offers its protection to the Hanseatic Free Cities of Hamburg, Lubeck and Bremen, which depend on the Empire for their independence. It assures them their current privileges and autonomy will be respected if they accept, and offers free trade in Saxony to sweeten the deal. Mod Response Please
    • Lubeck (MOD): Declines.
    • Hamburg (MOD): Declines original offer. Counter offers a mutual defense alliance, in which Hamburg and the Confederacy are strictly equal partners. Is still open to free trade.
    • Bremen (MOD): Accepts.
  • 'Kingdom of Naples: Military and infrastructure turn. Operation: Pushback sees some initial success, with the French being pushed out of Naples and even being pushed so far back that the Papal States are liberated. However, the Operation is halted when an earthquake strikes, forcing the Italian Troops to make the Papal Defensive line. The Neapolitans begin to build up their infrastructure, which was damaged due to the earthquake.
  • Sicily: With a need for new markets for our growing economy, the fleet is sent to explore the coast of Africa to find any suitable land for establishing trade outposts and potentially colonies. Some of Sicily's troops are diverted from the front line to help aid Neapolitan citizens affected by the earthquake. The rest maintain their positions on the Papal defensive line.
  • Archduchy of Austria: The Austrian Imperial Army is keeping up its assault against the French in northern Italy, with plans being drafted for an offensive into France itself. Francis II is also carefully watching the Ottoman Empire and the Serbian rebellion, which he is giving limited support (he does not want to encourage the Croats to rebel, though so far they seem satisfied). Austria also keeps an eye on other geopolitical happenings around the world.
    • Kingdom of Hungary: Hungarians continue to support the war against France and are excited. Infrastructure continues to be improved.
    • Kingdom of Bohemia: Infrastructure and economy are improved.
    • Kingdom of Croatia: The industrial capacity of the state is improved.
  • United States of America: We purchase Saint Barthelemy from Sweden, while Florida is granted statehood. The flourishing American economy starts conducting more trade with mainland Spain, Equatorial Guinea, France, and the Kingdom of Sweden. We also escort them 50 km off our coasts. The steamboat industry continues to be one of the main factors contributing to economic growth in the country. The number of ships engaging in trade with Spanish North America quadruples. The first practical oceanic steamboat makes its first successful trip from New York city to the Port of Liberty, Liberia. This effectively slashed the time it took to transfer goods across long distances. The program remains experimental, however. To standardize navy ship production, the naval yard of New Orleans is regulated to producing eight frigates and four cruisers per year, while the other naval yards shall produce a combined ten frigates and soon, three coastal ironclads a year. This causes naval production to temporarily stop, with the exception of the testing of the ironclad in the Hudson River. This one has 25% reduced armor and two less cannons. It proves to be a resounding success, albeit the ship's speed is less than desirable, nevertheless it is practical enough to be acceptable. The army expands to encompass 400,000 active soldiers, the desired amount by the Federal Government. Repeating revolvers pass all required tests and are given to various ranking officials of the Army, while experimentation on explosive cannons and prototype rifles continue. The Seminole Indian threat has proven to go out of hand after they attacked Spanish settlers in Tampa Bay and killed Florida's governor after he tried to negotiate with them. This causes an outrage and Washington approves Operation: Lumberjack; where 12,000 army soldiers will be sent to the Florida wilderness to eradicate any hostile Natives within a four-year operation. (eco/mil)
    • Territory of New America: Infrastructure and economy are improved.
    • Colony of Liberia: Liberty is 62% complete. Infrastructure and economy are improved.
Faced with the growing influence of Saxony we begin influencing our south German neighbors and plan to create and economic association with them when our war with France is over.

1806.0

French forces are forced to break their siege of Munich after being defeated by a combined Swedish, Austrian and Portuguese relief force. Elsewhere in Italy, French forces fall back to Piedmont to prevent being cut off by advancing Austro-Italian forces.

Persia and Russia finally sign a peace treaty. Bringing the Russo-Persian war to a close.

With the success of the Serbian state other ethic groups in the Balkans and Greece begin to clamour for reforms and even some to go as far to seek independence.

In Japan, many samurai and traditional warriors speak out against new methods of Western warfare, calling it dishonorable and alien.

Archduchy of Austria: We celebrate the victories over the French in Italy and Bavaria, and Francis II announces that soon the Imperial Army will return home, as a treaty is being negotiated in Paris to end the conflict. The Imperial Army will be demobilized after the war, though at least 200,000 men will remain on active duty in the event of any other conflicts. The navy will be improved, with new ships being built. Industries begin switching back from making military equipment to their normal capacity. The general staff begins making plans for an offensive to drive French forces out of Italy completely.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: People celebrate the victories against the French. Economy is improved.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Defenses that were being built are now put off as they will not be needed. People celebrate the victories.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: More talk is happening about the independence of Serbia in the Balkans. However, Croats are also celebrating the victory over France.
  • Serbia: Would like Austrian aid in setting up the Kingdom's economy.

Serbia: Celebrates having driven off the Ottomans, and now focuses on ensuring the security and borders of Serbia. As the government centralizes in Belgrade, much talk begins concerning what the government should be, a monarchy or a republic. Many are inclined for a republic, but a monarchist faction arises to challenge them. This results in the formation of two rival political parties, the Republicans, and the Royalists. After a vote, Serbia is made a kingdom, and Karadorde is made the king of Serbia. He begins ensuring that Serbia is connected, with roads being built in several areas. Diplomats are sent to the Ottomans, requesting that a peace treaty be made. Serbia secretly hopes to expand south into at least Kosovo, and the army is at the least maintained at about 70,000. Buoyed by idea of further destabilizing the Ottomans, agents of the king Karadorde begin trying to encourage ethnic Serbs not in Serbia to rise up against the Ottomans, and even promises aid to the Bulgarians should they rise up. (mod response)

  • Most Serb nationalists have already risen up against the Ottoman empire. However many Serbians begin to emigrate to the new nation.

Kingdom of Sweden: We continue to improve our infrastructure and recruit more men into our standing army, and we also propose a royal marriage between us and Austria.

Empire of Japan

  • Japanese military: The first modern ship of the Imperial Navy is well underway with laying of its keel complete. The ship is a sailing brig, and has been named the IJS Yamato. It is to be 35 metres in length, and its beam 5 metres. Draught: 2 m. The Yamato is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
  • The Shogun orders that all daimyo and samurai are to renew their oaths of loyalty to the Emperor and Shogun. The Shogun embarks on a tour of Japan in an attempt to bolster support and popularity, and makes several speeches to the Japanese people. The Shogun declares that opening up to the west will allow for a united Japan and recognition as a great imperial power. (RNG needed)
  • RNG: 2, the daimyo refuse. Instead forming a reactionary coalition and demanding the Shogunate stop interacting with barbarians.
  • Shogun: "While we continue to fight; while we continue to lack a united front, a united empire; while we continue to argue; those that you all call 'barbarians' are taking over the world! Why, the United States, Britain, Spain, France, Russia — all those 'barbarians' are proclaiming hegemony over the Earth as we speak! Unless we assert ourselves, unless we take our place in the western world — as the light of civilisation in a barbaric world, but our world nonetheless — sooner or later they will come to our doorstep and claim our lands for their own. Sooner or later they will use gun against sword and massacre our people and destroy our fields and towns. Sooner or later, you will no longer be daimyo." (Mod response needed)
  • Daimyos' Response (MOD): Daimyos are not impressed and remain mildly displeased with the Empire's most recent policies.

'Kingdom of Naples: Military and economic turn. Neapolitan troops begin to push France back, far out of the Papal States. As Operation: Pushback comes to a close, Neapolitan diplomats begin to negotiate an end to the war, with their proposal getting Austrian support. However, France declares that the terms are incredibly damaging.

Persian Empire: The military is improved upon, alongside infrastructure. The Shah passes several acts to allow for conscription curing times of emergency, and make it more feasible for the opening of military schools. Expansion into Central Asia continues at 200 px, with many small forts garrisoned along the borders. Construction of a municiple tram-line in Shiraz begins and several others are planned out for other major cities. Debate goes on about moving the capital.

  • Qing Dip: We stop all trading due to the smuggling.
  • Persia: Cares little.

United States of America: Military and infrastructure are improved. New York and all states bordering it are connected by railway

  • Liberia: Infrastructure and economy are improved. Expands by 25 px. Liberty is 87% complete.
  • New America: Infrastructure and economy are improved.

Saxony reiterates its proposal for a North German League, inviting Wurzburg, Baden, Salzburg, East Frisia, the Rhenish Palatinate, Wurttemberg, Oldenburg and Nassau. MOD RESPONSE, PLEASEMeanwhile, influence on Thuringia continues to grow, the military improves, and the navy grows, now based in Bremen. The colony in Bissau grows 5 px.

  • All States (MOD): Decline, due to the pressing matters in Germany and Saxony's methods of rapid powergrabs.
  • I dispute the plausibility of this blanket refusal. Most of these states are totally remote from me and not even slightly threatened by my peaceful expansion. They are threatened, however, by large, aggressive states like France and Prussia, and by the approaching dissolution of the HRE. It's totally in their interest to unite. At least some would accept.

Qing China: We attempt to expand into the Amur region to our east, at a rate of 200 px. Mil and eco turn. We attempt to assassinate the Shah AGAIN (RNG, AGAIN). We consider trying to invade Persia via the Gulf (Q for mods: is Persia stronger in terms of military than I am? I can't see Persia in military ranks.) An expansion into Central Asia occurs at a rate of 20 px.

  • LOL, good one.
  • The Qing wouldn't care about assassinating a random leader, especially one that has no relations to your country.

French Empire: Angered by the terms of the Treaty of Paris Napoleon dismisses his court and dissolves the national parliament, this seems to many as the last straw and a coup is organized to oust Napoleon and end the war. The army expands to 450,000 men. Generals across the nation refuse to advance, believing that the treaty will be far safer to France than a continued war, many of whom also join the potential coup.

  • Italian puppet states: 70,000 troops are sent to support French troops in Northern Italy
  • Batavian Republic: 30,000 men are use invade Germany alongside French forces.
  • Secret Swedish Diplomacy: We offer the equivalent of 200,000 francs to rebellious generals in order to fully support their effort to try to overthrow Napoleon's regime. (MOD RESPONSE, PLEASE.)
  • The generals agree.

Sicily: With the war beginning to wind down, some troops are ordered to return home, and factories and businesses begin to move away from wartime production. Sicilian diplomats attempt to negotiate at the Treaty of Paris, though only finding support from Naples.

Portugal: Portugal would like to start by asking everyone to just sign the Treaty of Paris. Either Naples needs to sign the Austrian proposal, or everyone else needs to sign the Neapolitan proposal, but I want the deal to be done. Back to politics, though. We send military support to help the French generals overthrow Napoleon. The monarchy agrees to a constitution in which the Royal Family, an elected executive (Prime Minister), and an elective parliament are the three branches, with two of them required to agree in order for anything to pass. Portugal expands in India by 20 px, and asks Persia for a greater amount of the Durrani Empire (all south of the 25th parallel), in addition to silk trade. We will not go to war unless this is agreed upon. We improve our military and economy. Portugal tries to begin industrializing.

1806.5

A coup by French generals and politicians ousts and arrests Napoleon, they immediately continue with the treaty negotiations.

Japanese Daymos begin to become ever more frustrated with the current Shogunate.

Kingdom of Sweden: We begin to fund the generals even more money so that a proper, stable government can be placed in France, and we also improve army and infrastructure. We propose an alliance with the French generals as well.

'Kingdom of Naples: Infrastructure and military turn. King Ferdinand proposes the possibility of a different treaty with France to the Kingdom of Sicily and the Pope, with the Italian nations not being given what they want in the negotiations at the Treaty of Paris. King Ferdinand warns the negotiators of this potential Italian-French treaty.

  • Sicilian Diplomacy: Sicily urges Naples to accept the Austrian proposal to bring an end to the war.
  • Portuguese Diplomacy: We strongly urge you to sign the treaty. If you don't, expect trade sanctions.

Bavaria: With the siege of Munich broken and reports of discontent coming from France an offensive is planned to throw the French out of Germany. The duke begins to plan reconstruction efforts and starts to mobilize the people of Munich to clear rubble and rebuild the city. Faced with the dissolution of the HRE and expanding Saxon influence we offer the territories of Augsburg, Nuremberg, Ansbach, and Ulm protection as part of Bavaria, They will allowed to be semi-autonomous. (Mod response)

  • All cities agree to the terms

The Kingdom of Serbia: Continues encouraging rebellion by ethnic Serbs unable to reach Serbia and other Slavs, in the hopes it will destabilize the Ottomans and allow Serbia to expand its influence. An alliance offer is sent to Austria, so as to secure our northern border. Russia is also sent an alliance offer, as they proved to be the nation stand by the Serbs, and are also Slavic. Infrastructural work begins across the kingdom, with many of new houses built for incoming Serbs. Trade is requested with Austria as they are the one nation that borders Serbia that doesn't pose a threat. Serbian agents are sent to meet with high ranking Bulgarian nationalists, in the hope that a massive revolution can be organized to help further curb Ottoman in Europe. The military remains at about 70,000 men, with cannons and rifle factories being built to help arm them.

  • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to the alliance and trade agreement.

Empire of Japan

  • Japanese Secret Dip: The Shogun secretly pleads with Spain to send assistance for a possible war against the Daimyo, and explains the Empire's dangerous situation. He warns to keep the request completely secret. Should Spain agree to assist the Imperial government and help the Shogun achieve victory in abolishing the feudal system that is holding Japan back, they will be rewarded handsomely. (MOD RESPONSE AS SPAIN PLZ)
    • Spain offers to lend several military and bureaucratic advisor to Japan to reform it's society and military, as well as war subsidies from Spain should war break out in Japan. In exchange we request Naval bases and merchants towns in Nagasaki and Kagoshima.
  • Japanese military: The Shogun declares that the conscription age shall be lowered to 16 in order to further expand the Shogun's armed forces.
  • Japanese military: The IJS Yamato is completed well ahead of schedule and is commissioned into the Imperial Navy as the flagship of the 1st Fleet. Edō shipbuilders are immediately ordered to build another brig, to be called the IJS Kukkyona Eihei (Strong guard). The Yamato is fitted with European-built cannons.
  • In a final desperate attempt to sway the Daimyo, the Shogun calls on the Emperor (Kōkaku supports westernisation, proof here) to help unify Japan under the Shogun.
  • Japanese military: Construction of Edō's first factories are now complete. Mass production of muskets and other modern armaments begins to supply the Shogun's army. Officers and soldiers in the Imperial Armed Forces that refuse to use the new weapons are dishonourably discharged and stripped of their titles and rights.
  • Japanese infrastructure: Paving of Japanese roads has commenced. Completion of the paving of Japan's existing roads is expected to be in 1808.

Archduchy of Austria: With French troops retreating to France, the bulk of the Austrian Imperial Army is called back, leaving a temporary force of 25,000 peacekeepers in northern Italy. The Austrians in Bavaria are also called back and return to the homeland. Francis II admitted to his foreign minister that he is a bit annoyed with how the treaty negotiations were going, and is glad that they are finally coming to a conclusion. The Imperial Army will begin demobilizing in 1807 when the French threat is completely over. Meanwhile, the country's economy is improved.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: The victory in the war against France is celebrated across Hungary, and people cheer and give gifts to returning soldiers. Meanwhile, infrastructure is improved.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Most of the fortifications that were built are being taken down now that the war is basically over.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Some Croats migrate to newly independent Serbia. In Croatia itself, infrastructure is improved.
  • Why are Croats going to Serbia? It should be Serbs.
  • A lot of the Croats in the early days supported the idea of a unified and independent South Slav state. They are going to help the Serbs and other Slavs against Ottomans.

Sicily: With the ousting of Napoleon, the war is drawing to a close. Sicilian troops are ordered to return home and demobilize. Soldiers needing jobs are sent to begin construction on a large highway that will connect Palermo to Catania, others are sent to work on increasing the size of Sicily's merchant fleet.

Saxon Confederacy: The military and economy continue to improve, with industrialization progressing as weapons foundries and manufacturing plants open. Saxony's scattered territories, large merchant fleet (via Bremen) and large industrial base enable it to build itself up as a centre of German industry. Meanwhile, Saxony's cavalry is converted largely into lancer formations recruited from eastern Saxony, giving them more mobility. Influence on the Thuringian states continues to grow, with them expected to accept Saxon influence in 1807. The outpost in Bissau, named Ludwigsburg, expands 5 px down the coast, but is halted by hostile tribesmen. Friendly ties with local potentates are explored. Alliances are offered to the Rhenish Palatinate, Nassau, Oldenburg and Wurttemberg.(Mod Response, Please)

  • Nassau and Oldenburg agree, rest decline.

United States of America: All of New America is annexed and made into their respective OTL States (Except the Dakotas, which are one state). Military and economy improve, with the ironclad starting to be produced

  • Liberia: Infrastructure and economy are improved. Liberty is 99% complete.

Portugal: Portugal is overjoyed about the generals' victory in France. We keep some military strength stationed in France to ensure a constitution is signed there, and offer to send Napoleon to Sao Jorge in the Azores. We are mad that a deal cannot be reached at the Treaty of Paris, and we therefore begin to think about sanctioning Naples until they agree to the Austrian proposal. Meanwhile, we improve our economy and military. We also expand into India 20 px. Joao Madeira becomes the first Prime Minister of the People's party, defeating Royalist Rodrigo Albuquerque.

1807

The British empire bans the trading of slaves, however owning slaves remains legal.

The Tories win the UK general election.

Some Daimyos side with the Shogunate after the emperor's pleas, however many see this as a sign of a weak government and begin to form a reactionary movement to put Daimyo Shimazu Narioko as Shogun

'Kingdom of Naples: Economic and military turn. King Ferdinand IV begins to use the one million francs of War Reparations to repair the earthquake damage in Naples and the Papal States. Meanwhile, mobilization is over and the money acquired by this goes into increasing the earthquake repair efforts. It is expected that the repair efforts will finish by 1808. Meanwhile, King Ferdinand begins plans to annex the Papal States and grant the Pope free residence in a cathedral to be constructed in the center of Rome. The Papal States will be an autonomous section of Rome with the Papal army and all other services being allowed in Rome. The annexation is expected to occur in 1810.

Archduchy of Austria: Francis II and the whole nation celebrate the victory over France, with patriotism being high, now that the Treaty of Paris was finalized and signed. The Imperial Army stages a big parade in Vienna. After all of the troops returned, the army is demobilized, with only a force of some 200,000 being kept on active duty. Infrastructure and economy is being improved. Meanwhile, Francis II is thinking of improving relations with the other German states.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Infrastructure and economy improve. Hungarians in the Imperial Army who were demobilized return home.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Infrastructure and economy improve. Czechs in the Imperial Army who were demobilized return home.

  • Bavarian Diplomacy: We offer Austria an official alliance.
  • Austrian Diplomacy: We accept.

Kingdom of Serbia: Continues to stabilize and moves to improve relations with Austria and Russia, while also encouraging rebellions by Slavs in the Balkans under Ottoman rule. The military remains 70,000, and modern weapons and training are introduced. A palace is built for the king, and Belgrade undergoes massive construction, with a Parliament building starting work, to house the government when it are in session. Plans are laid for an upcoming election, with the Republican and Royalist Parties campaigning for seats in Parliament, along with several new, less established parties, like the Federalists.

Empire of Japan

  • Japanese infrastructure: Paving of roads begin in other domains that have switched over to the modernist cause. Modernisation begins in all modernist domains. Building of factories also commence.
  • Japanese military: Conscription begins in all areas that are now modernist.
  • Japanese Navy: In the ports of Kobe, Nagoya and Osaka, shipyards immediately begin the construction of more warships based on Spanish designs and with the assistance of Spanish advisors. Japan's first frigate is now under construction, with completion expected by 1810. 11 more brigs are ordered to be part of the first fleet under flagship Dai-Ichi Kantai, and plans for a man-of-war are being drawn. The framework for the Kukkyōna Eihei is complete.
  • Japanese politics: The modernist domains have been renamed Prefectures, and the Daimyo of these Prefectures have been given the title of Prefect, but they still retain the powers they had before. The Imperial Diet is formed to act as a 310-seat advisory council (one seat for each Domain-Prefecture, including those that haven't made the switch yet), in order to keep the Prefects happy. The Shogun declares that all remaining Daimyo who choose to become Prefects will have a seat in the Diet.
    • The Emperor, on the advice of the Shogun, strips Daimyo Shimazu Narioko of all his rights and land, on the count of high treason against the Emperor for disobeying Imperial orders and warns other Daimyo that they shall share the same fate if they do not comply to the new order. Imperial troops are sent in to arrest Shimazu. They face some resistance from soldiers loyal to Shimazu, but they are easily overpowered by the guns of the Imperial soldiers. His domain is placed under the direct control of the Shogun until a Prefect can be appointed. Most of the Daimyo, fearing for their status, agree to become Prefects. Only the Satsuma Domain, and around thirty other smaller domains remain defiant to the Empire.
    • The Daimyos of Japan force out Japanese troops, they proclaim Narioko as the new Shogun. The nation descends into a civil war, the Boshin war has begun.
  • Japanese Dip: The Shogun grants the construction and lease of a Spanish naval base in Nagasaki, and a merchant quarter to be constructed as well. However, as Kagoshima is still under the control of the Satsuma Domain, it is not possible for Spain to access the town at this time. However, if war does break out and we claim victory over Satsuma, or the Domain is Prefecturalised, whichever comes first, Spain will most definitely be granted usage of ports in Kagoshima.
  • Boshin War (Shogunate): With the outbreak of this most treasonous rebellion in the March of this year, efforts to complete the First Fleet is fast-tracked. The Kukkyōna Eihei now has a due date of September this year, and all 11 brigs currently ordered are now to be completed by the middle of next year. In the meantime, the First and Second Battalions, armed with muskets and cannons, are sent into the Southern Prefectures to put down the rebellion. The Shogun's military advisors are skeptical as to whether the intense deadlines will ever be met.
  • United States Dip: The United States would be willing to give Japan western weapons, military advice and one of our new ironclads in exchange for either one of the Senkaku or Okinawa islands, or $50,000. However, if you decide to accept, it will take roughly 11 months (two more turns) for the weapons and ship to arrive due to our distance.
    • Shogunate: The Empire welcomes American assistance to put down the rebellion, in exchange for Akao-tō, the easternmost Senkaku Island. In advance, the Shogunate chooses to name the to-be transferred ironclad the IJS Tetsusenshi (Iron warrior). The Shogun hopes that western support will be able to ultimately open Japan to international relations free of internal resistance.

Bavaria: Following the signing of the treaty of Paris all of Bavaria celebrates an end to the war. Most of the military is demobilized with 20,000 troops remaining on active service. Reparation payments are used to rebuild destroyed infrastructure and repair the economy. With the dissolution of the HRE Bavaria declares itself a kingdom and the Duke takes the name King Ludwig I. Munich is rebuilt and expanded to serve as the capital for the new kingdom. We offer a defensive alliance to the Rhenish Palatinate, Wurzburg, Nassau, and Hesse-Darmstade against their aggressive neighbors. Baden and Wurtemberg are offered a free trade and economic co-operation agreement to help better expand the regional economy (Mod response)

  • Palatinate, Wurzburg and Hesse agree to the alliance. Baden and wurtemberg accept.

Portugal: With the war officially over, Portugal rejoices. We improve military and economy. We expand in India 25 px. A major political battle occurs in Lisbon, where the Royalists and the Democrats have heavy debates about freedom of religion and whether or not people living in Brazil should be able to vote. After the Queen convinces the Democrats that Brazilian voting is impractical and will take too long, the Democrats agree to not allow voting in Brazil in exchange for a freedom of religion amendment (becomes first amendment to the Portuguese constitution). Meanwhile, we rescind our offer to Persia for an invasion of the Durrani Empire. We also ask for new allies in Europe. Finally, we happily open up trade with our new colony, Cayennia (formerly French Guiana), and begin importing slaves and opening up plantations on the lesser-diseased rivers. Cayenne begins to grow in population as the main port for Cayennia.

Sicily: Citizens across the island celebrate the war's end and the Sicilian victory. Despite not gaining much in victory, Sicilian nationalism and pride is strong. Construction on the Trans-Sicilian Roadway continues, while our merchant fleet increases its trade with Spain. Explorers are sent to the coast of Africa to find suitable locations for trade outposts.

United States of America: (yay long turns again) We would like to remind the Tsardom of Russia and the United Kingdom to express their colonial wants in the Treaty of El Escorial to avoid territorial conflicts in North America.  The United States has perfected the steam engine for trains, and this spurs the construction of a continental railroad beginning with the Eastern Seabord and eventually the East Coast. Currently, only New York and all states bordering it are fully integrated into the national railway. Multiple factories and establishments are built along the new states to let them catch up to the infrastructure of the rest of the country while universities, laboratories, and military academies are built in Florida. The Military continues to improve as better muskets replace the old ones and better cannons. The U.S Navy expands to roughly 100 frigates, 15 cruisers, and ten Ironclads. More naval yards are built to further the naval expansion the United States is partaking in. (Infra/eco)

  • Colony of Liberia: The Capital, Liberty, is finally completed after years of construction. This allows the centralization of the colonial government and better management of all Liberian affairs. We expand by 50 px. Mineral mining and rubber harvesting become the primary fuel of growth for the economy as more quarries and plantations are built. More cargo ships are built as trade with the Spanish colonies grows. The first railroad connecting Liberty to a major industrial center in Liberia is built to further economic growth. More farms, factories and houses are built (eco/infra)
  • Saxon Confederacy: The military and economy continue to improve, with industrialization progressing as weapons foundries and manufacturing plants open. Saxony's scattered territories, large merchant fleet (via Bremen) and large industrial base enable it to build itself up as a centre of German industry. Meanwhile, Saxony's cavalry is converted largely into lancer formations recruited from eastern Saxony, giving them more mobility. The outpost in Bissau, named Ludwigsburg, expands another 5 px as alliances are signed with several local potentates. Meanwhile, Thuringia finally falls under Saxon influence and is incorporated as a member state of the Confederacy. With the HRE dissolved, Saxony offers alliances to several of the now-vulnerable Archbishoprics who had depended on the HRE for protection, specifically Cologne, Maniz and Trier. (Mod Response, Please)
    • Maniz and Trier accept, Cologne declines.

  • Qing: The emperor is worried due to Robert spreading Christianity. He orders that Robert be detained. Due to this, murmurs of rebellion are heard in the empire. Expansion into Amur at 200 px, expansion into central asia at 90 px. eco and infra turn
  • Kingdom of Naples:' Economy and infrastructure turn. King Ferdinand IV continues to introduce the Papacy into the Neapolitan Kingdom. King Ferdinand IV also deploys diplomats to Sicily to discuss the prospects of an Italian Confederation. King Ferdinand IV also begins to look for actual allies outside of the Anti-French Coalition.
    • Sicilian Diplomacy: We are willing to enter a permanent military alliance and form an Italian Confederation. We believe the Confederation's uses should be to solve problems facing all of Italy, a defensive alliance, and a new common currency.
    • Neapolitan Diplomacy: We are happy to learn of the Sicilian response and order the creation of an Italian Military Alliance (IMA) and begins work on the Italian Confederation.
  • Kingdom of Serbia: Continues to build and pave roads, and agriculture begins to blossom, with farmers earning a sizable income for their work. Serbia expresses interest in an alliance with Naples. As trade routes are established with Austria, trade requests are also sent to Russia.

Empire of Japan

  • Japanese infrastructure: Paving of existing Japanese roads (under the Shogunate's control) is 80% complete. The rest is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Construction of factories in the Prefectures is 20% complete. The new factories immediately begin mass producing weapons for the war effort.
  • Japanese infrastructure: The Shogunate requests that Spanish engineers begin work on the Nagasaki Yotetsusho, a modern, Western-style foundry and shipyard near the Spanish settlement. (OTL the Dutch did this and the foundry ultimately became Mitsubishi)
  • Japanese Dip: The Japanese request assistance from the Netherlands, having been trading partners for a very long time via the enclave of Dejima in Nagasaki.
  • Boshin War (Shogunate): The Battle of Fukushima. Shogunate troops lay siege on the capital of the Fukushima Domain. The 3rd Fleet, consisting of several Red Seal Ships armed with cannons, sets sail from Edō to assist the army in an attempt to capture Fukushima. The 4th Fleet is later sent from the north to reinforce the 3rd Fleet. The Shogun is reluctant to use the incomplete 1st Fleet.
  • Japanese military: Three of the ordered brigs are complete and have been named the Tokugawa Ieyasu, the Touitsu, and the Yukikaze. The frigate is 20% complete.
  • Japanese exploration: The Shogun, with the encouragement of the Spanish, begins planning for a voyage of exploration to chart New Holland (OTL Western Australia). The Shogun hopes that these plans can be put into action following the reunification of the empire and that colonisation can follow swiftly after.
  • Battle of Fukushima: With significant technological advantages, the Shogunate's attack force successfully occupies Fukushima. The Daimyo of Fukushima commits seppuku before he could be captured. The Fukushima Domain is dissolved and replaced with the Fukushima Prefecture. The Prefecture is also placed under the direct control of the Shogun until a Prefect can be appointed.
  • Boshin War (Shogunate): The 1st Fleet, consisting now of 8 brigs armed to the teeth with cannons, is sent south on a "shooting tour" of the Domains, attacking coastal cities as much as possible before fleeing to the next city to avoid significant damage. They are assisted by the 2nd Fleet, which lags behind the first to mop up remaining resistance. Troops then march into the cities to occupy them. Domain after domain falls to the Shogunate. (This shooting tour scenario was created with the knowledge that according to the algorithms for the Boshin War, the Shogunate would win by the next turn. Quote: "[The Shogunate] wins the Boshin war in one year (two turns)." The war began last turn, so technically it should end by the next turn.)
  • The Americans would be willing to help modernize Japan's government, military and economy after the war.

Sicily: Our explorers set up a small outpost on OTL Tombo Island to begin trading with local villages. The Trans-Sicilian Highway nears completion, with numerous mills, mines and factories in new villages popping up along the roadway.

Persia: Manages to fully recuperate after the war. Continues expansion into Central Asia by 425 px. Exports continue to incresase as most silk plantations come to maturation. Further investment goes into Western technology, as the tram line in Shiraz nears completion.

New Persian Proposal

  • Persian Secret Diplomacy: Informs Portugal that Persia would be willing to begin the invasion of the Durrani in one year. A new proposal is sent, and the Shah requests that Portugal propose a map if the find the Persian proposal unsatisfactory.
  • Not gonna happen.

Archduchy of Austria: With the war over, the country concentrates on improving the industrial capability of the nation and the economy. Austria is thinking about creating stronger alliances with other Germanic states, such as Bavaria and Saxony.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
    • Saxony offers Austria an alliance and/or trade agreement.
  • Morocco: Worried about European expansion, we expand our military defenses and infrastructure through modernization attempts.
  • United States Dip: We wish to establish embassies in Washington, D.C and wherever Morocco's capital is now (I seriously forgot ...)

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire continues to improve its economy and build up its military, mainly the army and navy. Selim III continues to plan new reforms for the Ottoman Empire and continues heavily investing in technology and science.

  • United States of America: We send 12 frigates to escort six ships filled with muskets, cannons and military advisors to Japan. The Ironclad we promised is also sent. However, due to the distance between us and the Japanese, it will take roughly a year (one more turn after this) before the reach Japanese shores. The frigates have authorization to use deadly force when fired upon. The Ports of Boston, New Orleans, and New York continue to be expanded to handle an increased amount of imports and exports ito and from various Atlantic states. More farms are built west and the livestock industry starts to boom in the same area. In the south, attempts to diversify their mainly agriculture-based economy are made as Florida is made into a technological and scientific hub while the rest of the southern states become focused in one or more industries to fuel their economy. The National Railway reaches Virginia and plans are made to make routes all the way to Dakota and Florida. Steamboat commerce continues. Operation Lumberjack is concluded with the humiliating defeat for the Seminoles. The remaining Seminoles are put into reservations. Military progress continues for the navy as we now possess 118 frigates, 17 cruisers and 21 ironclads. We also begin recruiting privateers. The army continues to develop advanced muskets, cannons, and tactics to cope with modern warfare (as modern as this game is ...). We would like to engage in trade with European countries that are interested. Please respond. Also, since Russia is not posting, can I get a mod response for the Treaty of El Escorial?
  • Liberia: Expands by 50 px. Infrastructure and economy improve.
  • Portugal Dip: We would like to establish trade. We'd also like to have an embassy in Washington and Consulates in Charleston, Boston, and New York in exchange for an embassy in Lisbon and consulates in Porto, Recife and Rio de Janeiro.

Portugal: We improve military and economy. We expand in India by 30 px (mods, please notice this and update the map). We support the Shogunate in Japan, and do not trade with the daimyo-controlled areas. We increase trade with Japan as a form of economic support. Two more amendments to the constitution are passed allowing freedom of speech and freedom of the press. The Republican Party forms and begins to become a strong third party, focusing on giving more rights to the people and more people the right to vote. We offer Persia to help them in a war with the Durrani Empire in exhange for all Durrani land south of the 25th parallel, silk and free access to trade on the Indus River. No more negotiating, this is the final offer (and the price has gone up).

  • Persian Diplomacy: The Shah is confused by Portugal's response and continues to ask for a Portuguese map showing their intended claims.
  • Portugal: Our land proposal is now shown. In addition, we'd like 2000 pounds of silk and access to the Indus river for trading purposes. Finally, we'd like your promise that you wouldn't expand into OTL India.

Bavaria: Reconstruction continues across the nation. Infrastructure is improved with new roads being built. Economic growth continues with new factories being built and expanded. Munich is rebuilt and expanded to be a fitting capital for the nation. We also continue to work closely with our economic allies to promote stability in the region.

1808

Following the death of Christian VII, Federick VI becomes king of Denmark and Norway.

Charles IV of Spain abdicates in favour of his son, Ferdinand VII

Imperialist forces in Japan are able to successively defeat the Daimyo's forces, current estimates show victory by the end of the year.

Bavaria: Across the kingdom reconstruction is mostly completed. We continue to promote industry and infrastructure in order to improve our country. At his new palace in Munich, King Ludwig I declares his plan for a German Confederation to promote greater economic integration across Germany and to help defend against foreign influences. As part of the Confederation, Austria is offered a free trade agreement and economic co-operation agreement. We offer the same thing to Saxony and Prussia as well as a formal alliance. (Mod response needed for Prussia)

  • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to the deal.

Portugal: We begin by expanding our military (by that I mean navy) and economy. We expand our control of Goa in India by 25 px. Focused on the Arabian Sea, we send one-sixth of our fleet to Goa. However, we withdraw our proposal to Persia, and cut off all ties with Persia as they have been unco-operative with us (they may only end this with a gift of one ton of silk). Our first midterm parliamentary election occurs, with 200 seats. 94 seats go to the Democrats, while 56 go to the Royalists and 48 to the Republicans (two seats are held by the Catholic Party). The Republicans have a major influence on politics now, and say that they will vote against every bill until Brazilians have the right to vote. In a compromise, white, Brazilian men are given the right to vote for parliamentary seats (beginning with 30 additional seats at the next election), but not yet president.

  • That doesn't make sense; Persia was co-operating completely. Also, you can't just "expand" into India, that also doesn't make sense.
  • First of all, Persia repeatedly asked me for a map even when I tried to tell them I was not able to make one (I went through a lot of trouble to). Secondly, Persia never honored my demand of the land south of the 25th parallel. I raised the price every time because I got more and more annoyed at this. Finally, I can expand into India. I have control of a port and some land beyond it, and I'm adding more to that land beyond it. It's not my fault that you haven't noticed this for 10 turns, but if you really think that I cannot expand into India, it's only fair to stop my future expansion and allow what you didn't catch.
  • YOU CAN NOT "EXPAND" INTO INDIA. Expanding into India is like if I "expanded" into the Ottoman Empire or Russia. Your land in India is as shown on the map and no more. Also, you made it not clear that you couldn't make a map, and also Persia can't honor your demand because the land hasn't been conquered yet, and thus Persia was most certainly not unco-operative. You have a very strange disability in that you seem unable to comprehend how ownership works or the linear nature of time.
  • India is a region as well as a country. Some countries are expanding by 400 px at a time and you guys don't care. Also, it's a little unfair to catch this after eight turns of expanding my influence. Either let those turns count or let me change where I influence. Finally, Persia did offer Karachi, which hadn't been captured yet, and I asked for more, despite neither of us had conquered anything. You have a very strange disability in that you make weak counter arguments.
  • You're an idiot. You can expand into uncivilized areas but not into centralized states. All of your "expansion" into India is completely retconned, as it doesn't make sense. Also, your second part was literally agreeing with me. Yeah, Persia offered something that hadn't been captured yet and then we started talking then Portugal flipped its shit and pulled out. You say I make weak counter arguments yet you have absolutely no legs to stand on whatsoever. What you're attempting to do is nonsensical.
  • I said it before and I'll say it again: You didn't catch this before. Either let my former expansion count or let me change where I expanded those turns. Second of all, I was countering "Persia can't honor your demand because the land hasn't been conquered yet", because they weren't agreeing to the hypothetical, the same way I wasn't agreeing to theirs. I think it's obvious we won't budge and need another opinion. I understand now that expansion into India doesn't make sense, but it still isn't fair to get rid of everything you didn't catch.
  • No, it would actually be extremely UNFAIR if I let you just have a bunch of land in some place of your choosing. You're an idiot for trying to expand into India, and if Persia "expanded" into the Ottomans, then Persia wouldn't get to say they should get land elsewhere because the mods weren't there to point out their stupidity. France can't just "expand" into Spain, and then when caught ask for land in Africa as compensation for their time wasted stupidly. Also, if you think Persia wasn't agreeing then you're doubly an idiot, as Persia was literally trying to propose a final land border, and if you think that's a disagreement then you're really damn stupid.

Sicily: The national roadway is completed, allowing goods to travel across the island in record time. The outpost on Tombo Island is now a trading hub, with goods and money flowing between Sicily, Tombo, and local villages. Plans are made to expand the outpost into a village and eventually a full-fledged colony. It is announced that Parliament will hold its first elections in 1809, with all white, land-owning male Sicilian citizens are eligible to vote. Work begins on forming a proper Italian Confederation.

Empire of Japan

  • Boshin War (Daimyō): As the American convoy enters Domain waters, archers open fire upon the cargo ships. Fire arrows hit one of the ships, which bursts into flames and sinks. The attack facilitates American entry into the conflict, and the United States declares war on the domains. The rest of the convoy and the IJS Tetsusenshi arrives safely in Edō. The Tetsusenshi, with its American crew still on board, is immediately ordered to Satsuma to assist the 1st Fleet in the upcoming...
  • Boshin War (Shogunate): Battle of Satsuma. The Rebels' stronghold of Satsuma, the domain of Shimazu Narioko, has been finally reached by the Imperial Armed Forces. The now completed 1st Fleet is deployed to Satsuma to reinforce the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Battalions marching on Satsuma.
  • Japanese infrastructure: Factories continue to be built and improved. The Nagasaki Yotetsusho is doing well, and is now beginning construction of Japan's first man-of-war.
  • Boshin War ends: Imperial troops march on Satsuma Castle. Shimazu Narioko commits seppuku before he could be captured. His advisors agree to surrender and a ceasefire is called. Negotiations begin for a peace treaty in Sapporo.
  • Japanese military: The IJS Tetsusenshi is temporarily decommissioned and sent to Nagasaki. Engineers at the Yotetsusho are ordered to dismantle the Tetsusenshi in order to learn how the ironclad was built, and to draw up detailed plans for the ship. After this is complete, the Tetsusenshi is reassembled and sent back into service with the 1st Fleet.
  • Japanese exploration: Plans for the charting and subsequent colonisation of New Holland are now under negotiation. Japan wishes to expand. New colonies are established in Karafuto Prefecture. Expand north by 15 px. Mil/infra turn
  • You can't have factories quite yet. Wait at least five more years. Also, no controlling things that aren't yours.

Archduchy of Austria: The economy and infrastructure have improved quite a bit, and we begin to improve our industrial might. Austria also agrees to sign an economic agreement with Bavaria. Francis II, meanwhile, eyes the European territories of the Ottoman Empire. We decide to increase co-operation with Serbia by providing financial assistance to any group that decides to rise up in the Ottoman Empire. Meanwhile, we currently have a military of 200,000 men, which is divided into three groups: 75,000 men in Austria proper, 25,000 in Bohemia, 50,000 in Croatia, and 50,000 in Hungary. The Austrian Imperial Navy has a total of 10,000 personnel.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Economy and infrastructure are improved.

Kingdom of Sweden: We now begin to improve our economy and infrastructure and we politely ask Austria if we could establish a royal betrothal between Francis II's son Francis Carl and Gustav IV Adolf's daughter Sophie.'

  • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree to it.

Morocco: We establish embassies in Rabat for the USA and send ambassadors to Washington DC. We also ask the USA is they would be willing to send us some military equipment for our ongoing military upgrades in return for raw materials.

  • Persian Diplomacy: The Shah offers warm relations to Morocco and proposes co-operation in industrialization.
  • Portugal Dip: We offer to have an embassy in Rabat in exchange for one in Lisbon.
  • United States Dip: We establish an embassy in Washington D.C and a consulate in New York. We would also be willing to send you weapons and military advisors in exchange for a trade deal

Persia: The military and infrastructure are boosted. Young industry continues to develop. The Shiraz Tram line is completed, and other lines in the cities of Fars and Tehran are already being built. Production of modern rifles now becomes the main goal of the government, and more foreign experts are hired. Expansion into Central Asia continues by 400 px. The Shah prepares for a possible invasion of the Durrani without Portuguese help, as their ruler seems somewhat reluctant and irrational. Explorers continue to be sent out, and they have now mapped as far as Angola and Jakarta. Persecution of minority groups is lessened and further rights are giving to Shamanist Turkmen and Hindus.

Kingdom of Serbia: Begins building factories and other important advancements for the industry. As more Slavs continue to move to Serbia, some being putting pressure on the Serbian government, which is largely Royalist, to liberate the homelands of the Slavs from the Ottomans. King Karadorde decides the Serbia must liberate these lands, and sends diplomats to Russia and Austria proposing that all three join forces against the Ottomans.

  • Austrian Diplomacy: We agree, and propose that Serbs send troops into Bulgaria and Greece, we will attack occupied Bosnia and Montenegro from the north, and Russia can attack occupied Romania and Bulgaria from the north.

United States of America: Our flotilla of 12 frigates, weapons, military advisors, and IJS Tetsusenshi arrive in Edo. (Can I get an RNG if the Japanese rebels attack my ships? Thanks.) We agree to the Portuguese proposal for trade and the exchange of embassies and consulates. We would first like to establish a New York-Lisbon trade route, followed by a New Orleans-Rio de Janeiro one. Government infrastructure investment continues as steam power starts to replace water and horse power in the States as further implementation of steam technology stems industrial growth. A series of textile factories are built along the Southeast coast as the national railway extends to Virginia and Indiana while roads have been built as far as Dakota and Louisiana. The increased amount of trade the U.S has taken in resulted in the construction of new Atlantic ports and the improvement of current ones, resulting in massive industrial growth. In the meantime, more settlers move to the West as homes and establishments are built there to support them. We start replacing our trading ships with steam-powered ones to make trading overseas efficient. Military is improved as the navy expands to roughly 210 frigates, 50 cruisers, 21 ironclads, and 17 privateers. Research on rifles, cannons and improved ships continue. (infra/eco) (Can I get a mod response for the UK in El Escorial? Thanks, again)

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire continues to improve its economy and build up its military, mainly the army and navy. Sunni Islam rises in popularity and gains more followers. As Selim III continuing his reign as sultan and looking to establish closer economic partnership with various European states to grow the nation into the major worldwide power, the Ottoman Empire continues to westernize. Empire of Japan

  • Japanese exploration: Plans for the colonisation of New Holland have been finalised. As the Empire is not at war, ships of the First Fleet will be used to send colonists, supplies and other necessities to the new lands. A scout ship has been sent ahead to chart the land before the fleet sets sail. The scout is expected to return by next year.
  • Japanese military: The Imperial Armed Forces remains ever vigilant to defend the motherland. The First Fleet is completed with the remaining brigs entering service. The Second Fleet now is undergoing replacement by modern ships. Ten ironclads are ordered following the American designs.
  • Japanese infrastructure: We continue to improve our roads and pave out new ones, creating new connections between our cities. We create a regular transport route between Sapporo and Karafuto. Expansion of Edo, Kyoto and other major cities begins. Country-dwellers are encouraged to move to the city to take up positions in more industrialised sectors. New residential areas are created to accommodate for these people and their families. Public schools begin to be built to educate the youth of our country. Edō University is established. Foreign scholars are invited to take up faculty positions in the university. Mil/infra turn

Kingdom of Serbia: Begins to prepare for war against the Ottomans, and the military begins training more men for the war. As 70,000 men are ready for war, all are equipped with the latest weapons, and the king lays down has several roads and housing built across Serbia. More and more Slavs arrive in Serbia.

'Kingdom of Naples: Economic and military turn. We begin to create and propose to Sicily the idea of a unified Italian currency, currently named the "Ital". We continue to integrate the Papal States into the Kingdom of Naples and focus on developing our military to be stronger than the Ottoman Empire (Tier 3).

United States of America: Mod response for the UK on El Escorial, please :D. As more and more workers go into industrialized jobs, a large gap in the agriculture industry has been noticed in the American South. To compensate for this, the federal government slowly re-institutes slavery in the southern states (I want a civil war of my own. LOL). In the meantime, more cotton and tobacco plantations are built in the south, while the industries in the west are mechanized to avoid too much slave labor. Military improves as we now have prototype rifles. Navy has 300 ships.

  • Liberia: Economy and infrastructure improve. Expands by 75 px.
  • Neapolitan diplomacy: King Ferdinand IV warns the US about the re-introduction of slavery and asks politely for them to re-abolish the concept.

Portugal: Portugal focuses on military and infrastructure. We build factories, as our economy has grown a lot in the past few years, but we need the infrastrucuture in order to develop into an industrial powerhouse. Portugal, therefore, builds better paved roads from Porto to Coimbra to Lisbon. We continue sending warships and some guns to the Arabian sea, while the guns go to Goa where we build a major military fortress and naval base across the Zuari River from Panjim, stationing 500 troops there. We try to trade our manufactured good with Indians. We expand along the coast of Mozambique by 20 px (BTW, we'd like to settle the issue about expansion into India). Finally, as tensions are rising with Persia over influence in the Arabian Sea, we ask Russia and the Ottoman Empire for alliances.

  • You're acting irrational. It's one thing to cut ties with a former ally, but to then propose alliances to their enemies in a span of less then a year is objectively ASB. Also, you get no land from trying to "settle" in India.
  • You're acting irrationally (and using bad grammar too). Just because you call me an idiot doesn't mean you're right. Not only did I not ever agree to an alliance (I only agreed to eventually invade the Durrani Empire if I got Karachi and all Durrani land south of it), I was only considering it because I thought that I could become the main power in the Arabian Sea (as a result of expansion in India). If you don't let that happen, then I wouldn't have ever negotiated with Persia. Finally, it is not unreasonable to take Persia's actions personally an start to hate them. There were tensions between the two countries afterover four years of negotiating terms, and their lack of responsiveness to my countless offers that were basically the same. Lastly, I have the right to ally with whichever country I want, unless they are extemely far away from my empire or I haven't found them yet. I'm trying to influence central Asia, as are Russia, Britain, Persia, and the Ottomans. It make sense for me to ask for allies in the area.
  • You literally regurgitate insults, you Nimrod (and you have the spelling of a sixth grader). You didn't officially agree to an alliance, but literally arming a nation and agreeing to be part of a future invasion is still an ally in some ways. Also it's COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE for Portugal to be upset in the first place, as there is literally almost nothing to be upset about; doing this is still ridiculous. This issue is finished.

Morocco: We establish embassies for Portugal, Persia and the USA. We start trading more frequently and upgrading our military to more modern weapons.

Archduchy of Austria: Francis II quietly gives the order for a general mobilization of the conscripts and volunteers that fought in the war against France. The army swells to a size of 350,000 and begins drilling. Meanwhile, infrastructure is improved, giving unemployed people more jobs.

  • Kingdom of Hungary: Many Hungarians answer the call to join the Imperial Army.
  • Kingdom of Bohemia: Many Czechs answer the call to join the Imperial Army.
  • Kingdom of Croatia: Many Croats answer the call to join the Imperial Army.

Sicily: More and more supplies and settlers are sent to the growing outpost on Tombo Island. Plans are made to adopt the "Ital" currency to have a unified currency with Naples. Construction on new schools and academies, including a large military academy and naval base in Palermo, begins in order to keep up with the modernizing world.

Ottoman Empire: The Ottoman Empire continues to improve its economy, infrastructure and build up its military, mainly the army and navy. Sunni Islam rises in popularity and gains more followers. As Selim III continuing his reign as sultan and looking to establish closer economic partnership with various European states to grow the nation into the major worldwide power, the Ottoman Empire continues to westernize and population continues to grow faster by adding 100,000 people every year. The Ottoman Empire expands into the Sahara Desert by 500 px, with a few new cities built and roads built between old and new cities. Mahmud II continues to plan new reforms for the Ottoman Empire and continues heavily investing in technology and science. In political news, Sultan Mustafa IV dies at age 29 and Mahmud II succeeds to throne as the new sultan of the Ottoman Empire. While Serbia and Naples begins mobilization, the Ottoman Empire also begins mobilization. This time, an army of 500,000 soldiers, 40,000 cavalries and 4000 artillery are ready for war.

  • Principality of Moldavia: Moldavia continues to improve its economy, infrastructure and build up its military, mainly the army and navy.
  • Those troop numbers are way too high, there is no way you could create such a large army in such a short amount of time, and that's ignoring the fact your economy would collapse if you kept it that large for a sustained period.
