Mauritania Tingitana was on the edge of the Mediterranea Sea. It was a source of many naval bases and security which could allow the ships of the Mediterranean to enter the Atlantic Ocean and reach the exterior Provinces. The Province of Baetica, was also on the edge of the Mediterranean and had a very similar culture to Tingitana. The Baeti and the Tingi did much trade with each other and this introduced the Provincial Republican System to the Tingi in a reasonable way. This paved the way for making Tingitana a Senatorial Province, a prestige which was very important for the aspiring Province of Tingitana.
