circa. 4.6 billion years ago - A planet the size of Mars called Theia impacted the Earth with enough force to let billions of tonnes of debris into orbit around the Earth, that collected to form Luna, or the Moon. The Lunar core is larger and hot enough to have a stronger gravity and create its own a magnetic field, millions of years before the Earth's was created.
c. 3.4 billion years ago - Millions of comets and asteroids impact both the Earth and Luna over the course of a million years or two, bringing along with them both water and microscopic life.
c. 3 billion years ago - Stromatolites on Luna use photosynthesis to create oxygen as a byproduct; oxygen is pumped into the atmosphere for billions of years.
c. 1.2 billion years ago - aquatic life on Luna flourishes in the sea until the atmosphere is complete.
Ancient and Medieval History (4000 BC - 1500 AD)[]
c. 70, 000 BC - The first humans, fully evolved from primates, walk the Earth.
c. 1700 BC - Many Asian and European astronomers thought Luna was another planet that harbored life like the Earth. But ancient Babylonian astronomers realized that it couldn't be a planet if it was rotating around the Earth every 28 days.
c. 200 BC - Seleucus of Seleucia theorized that tides were due to the attraction of the Moon, and that their height depends on the Moon's position relative to the Sun.
Early Modern History (1300 - 1800)[]
c. 1300 - Norse mythology lists the personified Moon as Máni, as a woman in the ATL instead of a man. Many believe this is to symbolize Luna as "Mother Moon," similar to Earth being "Mother Earth."
August 3, 1492 – Christopher Columbus "sails the ocean blue" on his first journey across the Atlantic Ocean to Asia, while en route to the Americas. On his journey, a passenger wrote about how Columbus would stare at the Moon and would mutter, "First India, next... the Moon."
c. 1500 - Lunans first walk Luna.
c. 1520 - The Walkula tribe explore other islands on Luna, searching for new mates.
1609 - Galileo Galilei draws one of the first telescopic drawings of Luna, noting it was not smooth but had mountains and craters and did in fact have water and land.
December 25, 1776 - While crossing the Delaware River, George Washington was reported saying to the rowers, "I wonder if they're doing this on the Moon."
c. 1961-1967 - The Lunan Near-Extinction Event wipes out 87% of the population on Luna.
May 25, 1961 - President John F. Kennedy addresses Congress on his plan to put a man on the Moon within nine years (the end of the decade).
1969 - The Apollo 11 Landing is a success. After hours of searching the land a city is found near a river.
1981 - The U.S. Lunar satellite Luna-2 begins orbiting Luna.
October 17, 1985 - Luna-2 discovers poles are warm enough for many American civilians to live on.
October 18, 1985 - Ronald Regan introduces the Lunar Colonization movement.
October 29, 1985 - A United Nations meeting is held in Japan. Discussion about the presence of a city found on Luna meant that civilizations must be living there. After hours of discussion, it is agreed that only countries with coastal issues may colonize the poles.
November 10, 1985 - Greece and Turkey's leaders (who are both Selenic) discuss the violation to their religion that colonization would do.
November 13, 1985 - Greece and Turkey declare war. All Selenic countries do the same. Later that day Italy and Japan join the pro-Selenic alliance. Great Colonization War begins.
