17th Century

  • 1678 - Mary Stuart gives birth to a live son, William (POD).
  • 1679 - Treaties of Nijmegen signed.
  • 1680 - The Pueblo Revolt drives the Spanish out of New Mexico until 1692.
  • 1682 - Peter the Great becomes joint ruler of Russia (sole tsar in 1696).
  • 1682 - La Salle explores the length of the Mississippi River and claims Louisiana for France.
  • 1683 - China conquers the Kingdom of Tungning and annexes Taiwan.
  • 1683 - A Habsburg council of war is held in Vienna.
  • 1683 - The Battle of Vienna finishes the Ottoman Empire's hegemony in south-eastern Europe.

  • 1757 - Battle of Plassey signaled the beginning of formal British rule in India after years of commercial activity under the auspices of the East India Company.
  • 1758 - British Colonel James Wolfe issues the Wolfe's Manifesto.
  • 1764 - William the 6th becomes king of Great Britain and Stadholder of the United Provinces.
  • 1775 - The British and Dutch parliaments pass the Act of Integration, this unites the two countries along with their North American colonies. This creates the United Kingdom of Great Britain, The Netherlands and the Americas. Uniquely the American provinces are allowed to vote officials into the new Parliament of the United Kingdom.
  • 1775 – 1782 - First Anglo/Dutch-Maratha War.
  • 1775 - Five of the American provinces declare there independence from the United Kingdom before they are crushed by Anglo/Dutch forces in the battle of Philadelphia.
  • 1778 - James Cook becomes first European on the Hawaiian Islands.
  • 1779 – 1879 - Xhosa Wars between British and Boer settlers and the Xhosas in South African Republic.
  • 1783 - The India act formalizes Anglo-Dutch control of India.
  • 1787 - The UK acquires Sierra Leone.
  • 1789 - The state of New Amsterdam in the Americas becomes the first part of the UK to declare slavery illegal.
  • 1789 - The French Revolution begins.
  • 1790 - The Second American Revolution begins in Louisiana.
  • 1793 - The second partition of Poland.
  • 1793 - The UK declares its support for the USA in its war with France.
  • 1793 - The French revolutionary wars begin. The UK forms the Grand Coalition with other European states.
  • 1795 - Spain cedes New Mexico to the USA after pressure from the UK.
  • 1796 - Edward Jenner administered the first vaccination against smallpox to an eight-year-old boy.
  • 1797 - France makes peace with the Holy Roman Empire leaving only the UK and the USA to fight against France.
  • 1798 - The Second Coalition is formed to fight against France.
  • 1799 - The USA now controls all of the Americas that are not under the control of the UK or the Spanish Americas. Its union with the Indian nations remains tense, though, and the union could still fall apart.

19th Century

  • 1800 - The electric battery is invented by Volta.
  • 1802 - Treaty of Amiens signed by the Union and France.
  • 1803 - Haitian Independence proclaimed by Jean Jacques Dessalines. He led the war for Independence.
  • 1803 - War resumes between the UK and France.
  • 1804 - The USA begins an expedition into the lands of the Indian Kingdoms of the USA to complete a map of the continent.
  • 1806 - Prussia joins the Third Coalition.
  • 1807 - Slave trade abolished in the Anglo-Dutch empire.
  • 1808 - Prussia surrenders and the UK withdraws from mainland Europe after 140 years of the union.
  • 1810 - Argentina becomes independent.
  • 1812 - France sends a expedition to the USA to reconquer Louisiana.
  • 1813 - Napoleon captures New Orleans after a three month battle with Anglo-Dutch and American forces.
  • 1813 - The USA withdraws into Indian territory drawing the French army in after them.
  • 1814 - Austria, Prussia, Russia and the German states declare war on France.
  • 1814 - Anglo-Dutch forces cut the French supply lines in North America by recapturing the coast of Louisiana and destroying the French navy.
  • 1814 - The Congress of Vienna decides on the post war layout of Europe.
  • 1815 - Anglo-Dutch, Prussian and Russian troops recapture the Netherlands from France and advance into France proper.
  • 1815 - Napoleon is captured and the French army of the Americas is encircled and destroyed at the battle of Baton Rouge.

  • 1822 - Liberia founded.
  • 1822 - Brazil declares independence.
  • 1824 - King Charles the 3rd is crowned king.
  • 1830 - July Revolution in France.
  • 1830 - Belgium trys to declare independence but is crushed by Anglo-Dutch forces.
  • 1836 - Texas becomes independent from Mexico.
  • 1839 - The Opium war begins between the UK and China.
  • 1840 - New Zealand is founded, as the Treaty of Waitangi is signed by the Māori and British.
  • 1844 - First publicly funded telegraph line in the world—between Baltimore and Washington—sends demonstration message on May 24, ushering in the age of the telegraph. This message read "What hath God wrought?" (Bible, Numbers 23:23)
  • 1844 - Dominican War of Independence from Haiti.
  • 1845 - The UK and USA declare the Anglo-Dutch-American Alliance, It is mainly designed to ensure Anglo-Dutch and American dominance of the North American continent.
  • 1846 - The USA and the UK fight Mexico in the first Mexican war.
  • 1847 - Mexico cedes most of its territory to the USA.
  • 1848 - Revolutions of 1848 in Europe.
  • 1851–64 - The Taiping Rebellion in China is the bloodiest conflict of the century.
  • 1853–54 - Crimean War between the Union, the Ottoman Empire and Russia.
  • 1854 - The Convention of Kanagawa formally ends Japan's policy of isolation.
  • 1861 - The states of the eastern US declare their independence as the Confederate States. Anglo-Dutch forces immediately honor their alliance with the USA and invade while France and Russia supply arms to the Confederacy. Despite this the Confederates are crushed by the end of the year.
  • 1861–67 - French intervention in Mexico and the creation of the Second Mexican Empire, ruled by Maximilian I of Mexico and his consort Carlota of Mexico. The UK warns France to keep its nose out of North America, which is under US influence according to the Anglo-Dutch-American Alliance.
  • 1863 - Formation of the International Red Cross is followed by the adoption of the First Geneva Convention in 1864.
  • 1863–1865 - Polish uprising against the Russian Empire.
  • 1864–66 - The Chincha Islands War was an attempt by Spain to regain its South American colonies.
  • 1864–70 - The War of the Triple Alliance ends Paraguayan ambitions for expansion and destroys much of the Paraguayan population.
  • 1866 - Successful transatlantic telegraph cable follows an earlier attempt in 1858.
  • 1866 - Austro-Prussian War results in the dissolution of the German Confederation and the creation of the North German Confederation and the Austrian-Hungarian Dual Monarchy.
  • 1867 - The Principality of Serbia passes a Constitution which defines its independence from the Ottoman Empire. International recognition followed in 1878.

  • 1877–78 - Following the Russo-Turkish War, the Treaty of Berlin recognizes formal independence of the Principality of Serbia, Montenegro and Romania. Bulgaria becomes autonomous.

  • 1879–83 - Chile battles with Peru and Bolivia over Andean territory in the War of the Pacific.

  • 1884–85 - The Berlin Conference signals the start of the European "scramble for Africa". Attending nations also agree to ban trade in slaves.
  • 1884–85 - The Sino-French War led to the formation of French Indochina.
  • 1889 - End of the Brazilian Empire and the beginning of the Brazilian Republic.
  • 1894–95 - After the First Sino-Japanese War, China cedes Taiwan to Japan and grants Japan a free hand in Korea.
  • 1895–1896 - Ethiopia defeats Italy in the First Italo–Ethiopian War.
  • 1896 - Olympic Games revived in Athens.
  • 1896 - Philippine Revolution ends declaring Philippines free from Spanish rule
  • 1897 - Gojong, or Emperor Gwangmu, proclaims the short-lived Korean Empire: lasts until 1910.
  • 1898 - The United States gains control of the Philippines after the Spanish-American-Union War. The UK gains control of Cuba and Puerto Rico
  • 1898–1900 - The Boxer Rebellion in China is suppressed by an Eight-Nation Alliance.
  • 1898–1902 - The One Thousand Days war in Colombia breaks out between the "Liberales" and "Conservadores", culminating with the loss of Panama in 1903.
  • 1899 - Second Boer War begins (-1902); Philippine-American War begins (-1913).

20th Century

  • 1900 - The Imperial Alliance is signed by the UK, The USA, Germany, the Ottoman Empire, Serbia and Imperial Japan. All six nations promise to defend each other in the event of war.
  • 1900 - Queen Wilhelmina is crowned queen of the Anglo-Dutch union. The Union Parliament also passes a modernisation package updating the kingdoms laws to a modern stranded. Chief among the new laws are the induction of a new flag and the introduction of suffrage for all adults in the kingdom, the abolition of male preference in succession and the establishment of Het Wilhelmus (The William) as the national anthem.
  • 1901 - The Defensive Alliance is signed by Austria-Hungary, Italy, Russia, Mexico, Spain and France. Similar to the Imperial Alliance the six nations promise to defend each other.
  • 1901 - The Australian colonies are united to form the Commonwealth of Australia.
  • 1903 - The first aeroplane flies.
  • 1904 - War begins between Russian and Japan, The Imperial Alliance and the Defensive Alliance declare war on each other. The First World War begins.
  • 1904 - HMS Dreadnought is launched in the UK. Other nations begin their own construction programs to try to stop the UK from gaining complete control of the seas. The UK also accelerates its own production of Dreadnoughts and Battle cruisers.
  • 1904 - Despite only being a year old Airplanes are used to provide low level reconnaissance during the Anglo-Dutch offensive into northern France. German forces attack in the center as well but both attacks bog down near Paris. Japanese forces attack Vladivostok as well while the USA launches a cavalry attack into Mexico that is stopped outside Mexico City.
  • 1904 - The first air raid takes place by German airships on Paris.
  • 1905 - The German army launches an attack into Russian Poland but it is defeated and pushed back into Prussian Poland
  • 1905 - The German and Anglo-Dutch armies suffer a defeat during the battle of Calais but the main German army succeeds in capturing Reims barely 70 miles from Paris.
  • 1905 - Ottoman and Serbian troops capture Budapest after a year long siege.
  • 1905 - Mexico is defeated and forced to cede all areas of land north of the 30th parallel to the USA.
  • 1905 - Norway becomes independent from Sweden.
  • 1906 - A joint Anglo-Dutch-German attack on France using armored cars (Known as Tanks after their codename). Despite 200 Tanks setting off only 25 reach their intended target in Paris. The sheer shock of the Tanks and Cavalry attack allows Anglo-Dutch-German forces to capture Paris by the end of the month.
  • 1906 - Russian forces launch a counter-attack into Prussian Poland.
  • 1906 - An earthquake in San Francisco.
  • 1907 - Japanese troops are forced out of Vladivostok after an attack by the Russian 1st army.
  • 1907 - Emperor Napoléon V returns to France in a revolution. The Emperor agrees to peace with the Imperial Alliance agreeing to pay indemnities to the Alliance and grant control of Calais to the UK.
  • 1907 - Imperial Forces launch an attack into Russia from three different directions. Anglo-Dutch forces attack from the sea, German forces attack through Russian Poland while the Japanese attack from the east.
  • 1908 - A revolution in Russia forces them out of the war.
  • 1909 - In a final attempt to win the war, the Defensive Alliance launches a massive air, sea and land attack against the Imperials, Austro-Hungarian forces manage to recapture Budapest from the Imperials while the Spanish navy and air force attacks cities on the British coast.
  • 1909 - The Spanish navy is defeated by the Royal Navy off the coast of Spain ending the Spanish Navies attempt to convert the UK's population against the war.
  • 1910 - The Austro-Hungarian Army captures Belgrade from Serbia. However the Austro-Hungarian monarchy is aware that they will soon be defeated. They strike a deal with the Imperials in which all Spanish oversea territories are transferred to other nations while Austria-Hungary will be reduced to Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Croatia.
  • 1910 - Revolution in Portugal.
  • 1911 - Revolution in China.
  • 1917 - New Zealand becomes a dominion.
  • 1917 - Republican forces seize the Duma building in Russia.
  • 1917 - The Union launches its first purpose built aircraft carriers, The HMS Ark Royal is equipped with Fairey Seal bombers and Fokker D.XVI naval fighters.
  • 1918 - The Union and Japan launch an intervention in Siberia to support the Russian moderate government, The HMS Ark Royal proves its use by providing air cover for Anglo-Dutch forces and sinking two Russian imperialist ships.
  • 1919 - Despite great successes by Anglo-Dutch forces the Imperial intervention in Russia fails to prevent the Imperial forces from regaining control of the country and the moderate republicans are evicted from the country.
  • 1920 - The French fascist group Action Française attempts to overthrow emperor Napoléon V but is prevented by the French Army.
  • 1920 - Russian forces invade the new Chinese republic to recover land granted to China by Japan to make up for the loss of Korea.
  • 1921 - Japan sends advisors to the Republic of China to help them defeat the Russians. Germany sends the Fernost Kräfte (Far east forces) to help the Chinese Republicans.
  • 1922 - China defeats Russia in the Sino-Russian war.
  • 1923 - The Amsterdam stock market crashes beginning the great depression.
  • 1925 - The UK cancels its aircraft carrier program with only three carriers completed although it allows the four under construction to be completed.
  • 1927 - A civil war begins between the Fascist and Moderate forces in china. Japan and Germany send military equipment to support the moderates while Anglo-Dutch ex-soldiers form volunteer brigades.
  • 1928 - The Action Française size power in France and Franco's Socialist Alliance are elected in Spain.
  • 1928 - France sends support to the fascists in China.
  • 1928 - Through a package of economic development the UK becomes the first country to emerge from the depression.
  • 1930 - Chinese Fascists seize power and evict Imperials from the country.
  • 1932 - France demands Calais from the UK. The UK refuses to give in and war seems inevitable.
  • 1933 - France invades the UK's mainland territories and Germany quickly destroying the German army. Austria-Hungary takes the chance to invade Serbia to recover its territory while China attacks Japan and the USA in the far east, Russia also attacks Germany but Spain remains neutral.
  • 1933 - French troops evict Anglo-Dutch forces from mainland Europe and capture the Netherlands while making gains into Germany with the capture of the Alsace-Loraine region.
  • 1934 - Russia captures the remainder of Prussian Poland from Germany.
  • 1934 - Japanese forces attack Chinese forces through Korea and capture parts of Manchuria.
  • 1934 - Germany surrenders to French and Russian forces, a puppet government is set up in North Germany headed by a little known Austrian Politician called Adolf Hitler. While some German forces obey Hitlers orders others follow General Rommel and Admiral Raeder to the German Colonies in Africa to carry on the fight.
  • 1934 - The First jet fighter flies.
  • 1934 - The Ottoman Empire decides to honor its agreement with Serbia and declares war on Russia after an attack on Sevastopol and the Black Sea fleet.
  • 1934 - Russian, Austrian and French forces pacify Serbian forces in the Balkans although they continue to be attacked by the Serbian pan-slavic leader Josip Broz Tito.
  • 1935 - French forces attack Spanish forces along the border, French forces quickly attack in the northern plains but they are soon halted by the mountains.
  • 1935 - China surrenders to Japan after Japanese forces capture Beijing.
  • 1935 - Japanese forces attack into Russia alongside forces from the new moderate Chinese government.
  • 1935 - Spanish forces crush the French Armée du Sud at the Montaña línea.
  • 1936 - American and Anglo-Dutch forces attack Russian America and prepare to cross the Bering Strait to invade Russia.
  • 1936 - Ottoman forces retreat from European Turkey.
  • 1936 - The French Navy is destroyed in the English Channel. The RN reasserts its position as the major Atlantic naval power and allows French shipping to be attacked again.
  • 1937 - Spanish forces attack into southern France and capture Toulouse.
  • 1937 - Norway and Sweden join the war on the side of the Imperials. This convinces Finish rebels to rise up against the Russian Empire.
  • 1937 - Scandinavian and Anglo-Dutch forces attack into Finland and Russian Karelia.
  • 1937 - German loyalists capture Namibia from North German forces. This finalizes loyalist control of Africa.
  • 1937 - Japanese forces capture Siberia.
  • 1938 - Ottoman forces invade Russia.
  • 1938 - German and Anglo-Dutch scientists test the first Atomic Bomb in the Arctic.
  • 1938 - Imperial forces capture Moscow from the Russian Army. With its Capital and much of northern Russia under Imperial control and facing a revolution Russia surrenders.
  • 1938 - Imperial forces begin operation Deutsch Befreiung (German Freedom). Anglo-Dutch, Nordic and German forces launch a co-ordinated attack on Northern Germany.
  • 1938 - Berlin is captured by General Rommel.
  • 1939 - Ottoman forces begin their invasion of Austria-Hungary.
  • 1939 - The Japanese 1st Fleet is dispatched to invade France.
  • 1939 - Imperial Forces capture Strasbourg and Amsterdam.
  • 1939 - Germany is recaptured from France.
  • 1939 - The Union's mainland territory is recaptured.
  • 1939 - Spanish forces capture Nice.
  • 1940 - Anglo-Dutch forces capture Paris, France surrenders.
  • 1940 - A Fokker XVII bomber drops a nuclear bomb on Budapest, Austria Hungary surrenders.
  • 1940 - The Berlin Conference decides on new spheres of influence in Europe, Africa and Asia while France and Russia are split into several occupation zones.

Russian occupation Zones

  • 1941 - Spain grants independence to areas under its control in West Africa. However Franco installs pro-Spanish governments in place of the existing colonial administration.
  • 1941 - The Ottoman Empire sets up an autonomous region for Jews within the Ottoman Empire.
  • 1942 - The Ottoman Empire and Spain issue an ultimatum to the rest of the Imperial Alliance demanding the withdrawal of Imperial troops from areas now under their influence.
  • 1943 - The Ottoman Empire and Spain sign the Algiers Pact (the Pact) which effectively ends their membership of the Alliance.
  • 1945 - Germany, the Union, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan sign the North Seas Alliance (NSA).
  • 1945 - Spain tests its first atomic bomb.
  • 1945 - The Treaty of Moscow establishes two new Russian States, Север России (North Russia) and Османская России (Ottoman Russia)
  • 1945 - Spain launches the first man-made satellite.
  • 1946 - The NSA controlled areas of France are merged to create France Nord (North France)
  • 1946 - The Pact areas of France are unified as État Français (French State)
  • 1946 - Georgian Joseph Stalin becomes Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire after a coup, he bans all opposition political parties.
  • 1946 - Franco bans opposition parties
  • 1947 - The Ottoman Empire tests its first atomic bomb.
  • 1947 - Union astronaut August Deibel is the first man in space.
  • 1948 - Ottoman forces blockade Kamerun along with Spain. Despite initial riots the African population doesn't rise up against the NSA.
  • 1948 - The Ottoman empire backs down in Africa.
  • 1950 - The Spainiad Andrés García La Calle is the first man to orbit the moon as part of the Spanish space program.
  • 1952 - Stalin dies and is replaced by Cemal Gürsel.
  • 1953 - The Balkan Federation is formed by Josip Bronz Tito.
  • 1954 - Spain ships nuclear missiles to Cuba in response to Union missiles being stationed in Gibraltar.
  • 1954 - Spain and the Union back down from the Cuban Crisis.
  • 1955 - Anthony Llewellyn becomes the first man to land on the moon as the Union wins the first part of the space race.
  • 1956 - Strikes and unrest in Italy result in martial law being declared and a civil war is on the horizon between the Socialist south and the pro monarchist north.
  • 1957 - The Berlin conference splits Italy into the Socialist south and the Monarchist north.
  • 1960 - South Italy (Sicily) invades North Italy (The Kingdom of Italy). The south is supplied by Spain and the Ottoman Empire but they both refuse to deploy troops.
  • 1961 - The Union, the USA and North France deploy troops to help the Kingdom.
  • 1962 - Queen Juliana is crowned Queen of the Union.
  • 1963 - Sicilian forces capture Milan and get within thirty miles of the German border. Germany enters the Italian war alongside other NSA forces.
  • 1964 - NSA forces reach Rome and restore the original demilitarized zone.
  • 1965 - The Treaty of New York ends the Italian war.
  • 1967 - Cevdet Sunay becomes the first elected Ottoman Grand Vizir since 1920.
  • 1970 - Botswana becomes the first Union colony to be granted independence.

  • 1991 - Kenan Evren attempts to overthrow the Ottoman government to prevent Özal's reforms.
  • 1991 - Queen Juliana steps down after long illness.
  • 1991 - The 1st in line to the throne, Prince Juhan is ignored and his more popular daughter Princess Beatrix is chosen to be Queen.
  • 1991 - Prince Juhan gains the support of the Anglo-Dutch Army and deposes his daughter. She goes into exile with most of the Anglo-Dutch Navy to the Americas. The Union Civil War begins.
  • 1993 - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, The UAE, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine-Israel, Georgia and Kuwait declare there independence from the Ottoman Empire.
  • 1994 - The Ottoman Empire is dissolved as a result of the ongoing Union Civil War
  • 1996 - The Balkans Federation breaks down into Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania and Greece
  • 1999 - As the final act of the Union Civil War North Russia (A NSA member and ally of Princess Beatrix) invades Ottoman Russia (An old Pact member and supporter of Prince Juhan).

21st Century

  • 2000 - The Last Juhanite forces are crushed and Princess Beatrix is crowned in a massive ceremony.
  • 2001 - North Russia annexes Ottoman Russia and the other territories that had been in the Ottoman Empires spheres of Influence.
  • 2002 - Aceh militants attack the world trade center in London.
  • 2003 - Aceh declares its independence from Indonesia.
  • 2004 - With authorization from the Anglo-Dutch Commonwealth and the United Nations a joint Anglo-Dutch, Indonesian and Japanese task force invades Aceh.
  • 2006 - The Aceh government is overthrown and replaced by the East Indies Military Administration.
  • 2007 - In response to the Sri Lankan civil war the Union sends troops to Sri Lanka.
  • 2010 - Aceh forces begin a guerrilla campaign in Indonesia.
