On the 20th of September, 1000 men of the Union of Canadian Nationalists rise up in revolt against the British, near Saint-Denis; they begin marching to Montreal. They are led by Wolfred Nelson. Northern Rebellion(Canadian Rebellion)
The City is taken without any fighting.
Following many bloody battles the British are finally destroyed. The treaty of St. Lawrence ends the Northern rebellion. The treaty dictates that the newly formed Federation of Canada is to been granted full autonomy from Britain, the provinces of Upper and Lower Canada be given to Canada. All British soldiers are removed from Canada. Canada also receives all of Quebec and the Maritimes.
The people of the newly formed Federation of Canada decide to have their Capital in Ottawa (much to the anger of the French population) and begin creating laws for the newly formed Federation of Canada
Unhappy with the Federations tight control and the use of the Union of Canadian Nationalists as "special" police forces; thousands turn up to Ottawa in a massive anti-protest.
After the protest was going on for five days, members of the U.C.N. fire on the protesters. The United States calls for talks with the Chancellor (Sir Jon Nelson)
Talks are inconclusive, United States send regiments to the Border; Thomas Jefferson justifies the act; "The good people from the Federation of Canada are human beings, just as ourselves. We must take every precaution to ensure these people are treated with decency."
The number of rioters and protesters continues to increase. United States give one last warning; Stop the killing or be invaded.
