Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743-July 4, 1826) was the 3rd President of the United States and the 2nd Vice President of the United States. During his three-term presidency, Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory from France, helped the French defeat the British in the First European War, which resulted in the United States acquiring all of Britain's possessions in the Western Hemisphere.

Thomas Jefferson is constantly ranked as one of the best three presidents of all time. He also is known for his three-term presidency, which is the longest any president has served. He is also known for being the president that gained the most land for the United States.
