In the timeline There will always be an America , the United States never comes into being as an independent nation, but rather as a dominion of the British Empire.
In many alternate histories concerning America's formation, most of them focus on a failed revolution: that is, a situation in which the colonies are defeated by the British in their attempt at independence. Instead, this timeline will focus on what historian Caleb Carr so aptly put it, a "contracepted" revolution instead of an "aborted" one. Parliament listens to the demands of the colonies and gives them self-governance within the British realm. This timeline will not only focus on America, but the world at large: a world dominated by an even greater British empire.
