The Point of Divergence is during the 1825 Central American Presidential Election. In OTL, José Cecilio del Valle was a member of the Honduran conservative base and had a genuine support base to win the election. But because the Conservatives wanted someone they would be able to control, the election was manipulated and without a majority, was sent to congress where they chose Manuel José Acre, a liberal from Costa Rica, thus leading to legitimacy problems and causing the rivalry that dismantled the Central American union 13 years later.
ITTL however, the Conservatives decided in the end to back del Valle and he becomes President, establishing a state of stable democracy and legitimacy and thus prolonging a united Central American state.
