Colonization of California
Formation of the Domain of California
As part of a deal between the British and Mexicans, California was transfered from the Mexicans to the British. The British Reorgnized the Mexican state into a semi-autonomus Domain. Populated mostly by Americans, the British where unpopular rulers, and when Mexico and the US went to war, the Citizens of California revolted in the Bear Flag Revolt, which was surpressed by British Forces. The peace was short lived, and a few decades later, the Second Bear Flag Revolt sparked and the Anglo-American War followed.
