'The Protectorate of Oceanic Nations', commonly known as the 'Oceanian Protectorate' or simply 'Oceania', is a union of 17 former nations/territories in the Asia-Pacific area. The protectorate has three official capitals, as to spread the power evenly through the territories. These are; Canberra (Australia), Manila (the Philippines) and Tokyo (Japan). At over 10 million square kilometres, the country is the second largest in the world. The population of 588 million is the third largest and most diverse in the world.
The largest city of Oceania is Tokyo, at almost 38 million people. Other than Tokyo, 6 cities have a population of over 10 million. In order of size, these are: Jakarta (30mil), Osaka (19mil), Sydney (16mil), Melbourne (14mil), Manila (13mil) and Taipei (11mil). A further 11 cities have a population of over 5 million. A total of 61 cities have a population of over 1 million.
The climate and geography of the nation is extremely diverse, ranging from subartic mountains on the island of Sakhalin, to lush and dense tropical rainforest across the equator, and the grand red deserts of outback Australia.
