Greater German Empire
The Greater German Empire was the name of the empire that ruled most of Europe for over 40 years. The empire was focused around Germany, which was the political and cultural capital. The empire was proclaimed on October 16th, 1880 under the first emperor, Ludwig I. After several years of decline and war, the empire dissolved on November 7th, 1924.
In 1871, Otto von Bismarck of Prussia helped unite all the German states into one nation.
