The Great War, also known as the Nightmare; was the end of the early cold war and the result of the Cuban Crisis in October 1961. It is unknown which side started the war, but it really doesn't matter in most peoples opinions: all that matters is the world ended that day, December 13, 1961. It is known that Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, London, Omaha, Paris, Quebec, Berlin, and Moscow were hit by nuclear weapons, with a total of about 25,000 nuclear used in the entirety of the War. Approximately 1.1 billion people died on that day, with many more following them due to hunger, war, and suicide.

The war started after the initial opening of hostiles between NATO and East Germany/Czechoslovakia on October 30th 1961, and the US's second attempted invasion of Cuba in November 1961, which succeded unlike its predesseor. On November 30, The US declared Castro to be dead, and that Cuba was now under US military control. However, the hardships have only started. On December 7, it was discovered that the Soviets had been suppling Cuban insurgents with weapons, even as far as small nuclear weapons. This created the Cuban Crisis, which lasted for the next five days. On December 12, relations and a chance of compromise hit a new low, and thus The Great War began.
