The Beatles is an English rock band that was formed in London, in 1960. The group consists of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The group is regarded by professional critics and yhe general public as the most influential and acclaimed band and act of the 20th and 21th Century. The Beatles has for its trademark using since 1962 several genres of music such as Rock, Pop, Skiffle and Beat. Other genres such as Hard Rock and Heavy Metal were also used by them. Their enormous popularity emerged from the song "Beatlemania", and later, became well known for frequently using sociocultural messages in their songs.

After 1972, the Beatles moved to Brazil in hope of spreading their songs to both Latin America and the whole American continent. In Brazil, they became the country's best-selling band with a total of more than eight billion copies just in the state of São Paulo. The strategy was a total success, as their music become more and more popular in both USA, Canada and Argentina. They won twelve Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for their work on the critically-acclaimed 1980 film Narcoland. In 2002, the TOP magazine listed The Beatles as the best artists of all time.
