[edit] History of Texas
Texan War For Freedom
The Texan War For Freedom was just a title given by Texans to describe their part in the Mexican Civil War.Beginning
in 1837 when Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna changed the Mexican Constitution.Within an hour unrest was everywhere in
Mexico.Texas broke off of Mexico, and began to lose the war, when Mexico finally acknowledged Texas,Alta, and Rio
Grande as new independent countries in 1852.
War With The Rio Grande
Texans had yet another challenge in store for them.Mexico might have stopped war with Texas but by the 1860s The Rio
Grande's relations with Texas were deteriorating fast. A large area was disputed between the two nations. Neither
nation would risk going to war without support. In 1868 Mexico secretly said they would give help to Texas and The
Rio Grande at the same time. Within a minute a war had broken out between them. Once it got going both nations
would not back down. Eventually Texas let The Rio Grande sue for peace.Wars would occur between Texas and The Rio
Grande in 1868, 1877, 1886, and 1899 and 1901
Formation of The Entente
In 1903 Texas, Alta, Brazil and Louisiana allied together forming the Entente Americana. This Entente was created to
insure peace in The Americas. Sure enough The Rio Grande stopped attacking Texas within a day. The Rio Grande didn't
however seek permanent peace, they just wanted peace long enough to find new allies.
Texas in World War I
In 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary was assassinated in Serbia. Austria-Hungary declared war on
Serbia intending for support from Germany. In 1915 The Great War spread to America, and Texas and The Rio Grande
fought against each other once more. In the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 Texas was given control over The Rio
Grande.
Texas in Between the World Wars
Just like every other nation in the world Texas got hit by the Great Depression.Having another country to
handle only made it worse for Texas.Texas had to declare martial law four times. Were it not for Louisianans
helping to hold Texas together the whole region probably would have collapsed int chaos.
Texas in World War II
Texas, Louisiana, and Alta, all agreed the Entente Americana was neutral in this war. However Brazil declared,"We and
our allies now pledge our help the rightful leader of Adolf Hitler of Germany."
Texas, Alta and Louisiana respond with, "Brazil is no longer a member of our alliance. Brazil can help Germany
but we won't."
Brazil's response was to go to war. This was a turning point in Texan, Brazilian, Altan, and Louisianan
histories.
