Ted Kennedy was an American politician who served as the 41st President of the United States (1981 - 1989).
The most notable achievement off his Presidency was the introduction of the affordable healthcare act (also known as Kennedycare). In 1984 he was re-elected with a majority percentage of the popular vote.

After much speculation Kennedy finally decided he would seek the Democratic Presidential nomination in 1980. He was the clear frontrunner.

The dominating factor of Kennedy's second term was the Gary Hart sex scandal, which was ulitimatly to result in Hart's resignation from office. The scandal ravaged the Democratic Party, and although Kennedy himself wasn't involved it did damage his approval ratings significantly.
