Tartary, also officially known as the Tatar Empire (Tatar: Tatarlar Imperijase), is a country located in North Eurasia. By area, Tartary is the largest country in the world. Tartary is also a very populated nation. It is a Christian monarchy. Tartary is the largest country in the world by area. Tartary is led by descendants from the Mongol invasions of Volga Bulgaria and Kievian Rus'. Tartary is a relatively centralised state, with feudal lords having few troubles, and a strong power in its corner of the world. In OTL, Tartary is the majority of Russia excluding Siberia.

The origins of the modern Tatar state reside on the Jochid Ulus, a nomadic confederation in the 1300s that rose out of the collapse of the Mongol Empire and its split between feuding princes. However, the true origins of Tartary began at the rise of Idegäy Manghit and his dynastic plan. First with indirect control through the position of vizier and later through the position of Khan itself. Tartary became more centralised and civilian, with pastures being cut off and granted to farmers, rapid urbanisation taking place and the power drifting from nomadic warlords and shamans to burghers and merchants in these cities.

Political reform to Tartary was mostly completed by 1455, but it was not until after the death of Khan Temür-Hachiun the Warrior and the rise of his Christian son Theodore after the victorious conclusion to the Karelian War that reform truly started to occur. While shortly burdened by a civil war between the loyal realm and anti-reform elements in the East led by his younger brother Tulpar, nothing could stop the large-scale reforms put in place by the foreign-educated Khan, which renamed himself Emperor, and changed his name from Aydar-Arslan, his Tatar name, to Theodore, a Greek name.

Theodore and Alexander continued the centralisation of Tartary, and retained neutrality in most regards. Alexander's successor, Julian I, embarked in two different wars; one in support of their Scandinavian allies in Russia and one in support of the Mansuriyya Caliphate and the Damascan Sultanate in Iran, which was ongoing as of his death, which tragically occurred while scaling the wars of Tehran.

Paul I, the eleven-year old successor, was completely uninterested in matters of war.

Burak is born in 1783.
