[edit] Tentative timeline
I want some advice as to how plausible the following timeline is. Tell me if you think that the pace of exploration and settlement in the new world is too fast, or too slow, or any other things that you think either need tweaking, or are good just as the are. Stuff above the line is stuff that happened OTL, and stuff below happens in this timeline.
- ~825 - Iceland discovered
- ~874 - Iceland settled
- ~980 - Greenland settled
- ~1000 - Leif sets foot in Vinland
- ~1006 - Karlsefni establishes permanent settlement
- 1023 - Discovery of Anticosti Island and the Saint Lawrence River
- 1037 - Permanent settlement at the Lachine Rapids (Montreal)
- 1045 - Discovery of Cape Cod
- 1052 - Hardrade establishes settlements in Vinland
- 1055 - Discovery of Lake Ontario
- 1057 - Settlement on Wolfe (Amherst?) Island
- 1059 - Discovery of Niagara Falls
- 1063 - Permanent settlement at Niagara Falls
- 1066 - Discovery of Lake Erie
- 1069 - Godwinson’s expedition (Mora)
- 1078 - Settlement of Pelee Island
- 1083 - Discovery of Lake Saint Claire
