[edit] Other Timelines

when are you going to work on Multiple Blocs, Atlantic Iron Curtain and D-Day 1946? Buk5 17:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I was planning on working on them when Heute Europa was complete to a degree. any work done on them in the interm is appreciated Das Taub 09:12, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Atlantic Iron Curtain

I have put down some ideas for Atlantic Iron Curtain. Do you think they are good. Please let me know, das taub. Buk5 19:25, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Likelihood

Das Taub, which of the scenarios would you say, IYO, is most realistic? Let me know. Buk5 21:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit] another scenario

Das Taub, i was thinking of a scenario where after Sealion, Hitler decides that Barbarossa is too risky and calls it off, ultimately leading to an American/Commonwealth invasion of Europe. Would you like that idea (Operation European Freedom is a working title)? Let me know. Buk5 20:14, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

that is most certainly a possibility. the allied casualties fighting the whole german military would bee similar to the projected casualties for Operation Downfall (the Invasion of Japan) and the campaign would be long and bloody, even with the Atom Bomb. germany would be broken after that, probably creating a new confederation of the rhine. Das Taub 00:28, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Operation European Freedom

would you take it from here, Das Taub? I have got some ideas down, and i hope you can add realism to it. Let me know (N.B, Operation European Freedom is still a working title, and a subtle jab at the Iraq War). Buk5 17:05, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Das Taub, about Operation European Freedom, would it be feasible that after Britain falls, the USA and Commonwealth agree that canada shall be annexed by the USA to prevent it from being occupied by the Germans? Let me know. Buk5 16:22, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that would be possible. Canada would in no way allow itself to be annexed by the US, for the simple reason that canada has always historically looked on the US as a possible foe, and that they still remember that the US tried to invade no less than twice, during the revolution and again during the 1812 war. Das Taub 22:20, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

which scenario of Seelowe 1941 is most likely in your opinion Das Taub? Let me know. Buk5 22:26, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

to tell you the truth, none of them. operation Sealion was a flawed plan, with no back up or failsafe, inadequite landing craft, no air superiority and a inplacible enemy. if attemped, it would have at most knocked England out of the war for two or three years, and caused the loss of 50,000 irreplacible german troops. however, if by some miracle it did work, i would say it would be D-Day 1946. once America entered the war, it was only a matter of time before the third reich was overthrown. the conquest of england would have set it back by many years, but it would have happened. hoveder the death toll from the war would have been many times highter than in OTL, especially for the Russians

especially so if you take nuclear weapons into account. Buk5 08:57, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] H-bomb

About the American transition form a-bomb to h-bomb in Operation European Freedom, is the timescale realistic? Let me know. Buk5 19:33, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Heute Europa

A few questions Das Taub:

1. Would the Madagascar plan feature ATL, since Hitler seriously discussed it, and maybe there could be "reservations" for Jews in Africa and Siberia ATL?

2. were the Africans enslaved or subject to Apartheid after the war?

3. Did Rumsfeld ever face impeachment over the San Francisco quarantine ATL?

4. Who Gets the Higgs Boson first?

Just a few questions. Buk5 20:14, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

A few Answers

1. The german plan for a jewish colony in madagascar was a castle in the air, and it was never seriously considered. the jews were always going to be exterminated.

2. the Africans were left in the hands of the british, french and Belgium administration, as hitler had no intrest in africa. the Blacks in the Italian empire would probably be treated decently enough. in the Union of South Africa though, the blacks would nost cvertainly be subject to Apartheid and discrimination.

3. Rumsfield escaped inpeachment, though only by a whisker.

4. no one OTL has got it yet, so thia question is still a question yet to be answered.

I hope this helps Das Taub 20:45, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

how endemic would corruption be in Germany by the time Goebbels gets to power with an unchecked SS thrown in ATL? Buk5 20:47, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Philadelphia experiment

Das Taub, do you think the Philadelphia experiment would feature in any of the scenarios? Let me know.

BTW, what happened to Goring, Heydrich, Eichmann, Hess etc in Heute Europa? Le me know. 17:46, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Multilateral cold war

Das Taub, i have been working on it recently, and it is based partially on Harry Turtledove's "ready for the Fatherland", except the Japanese are still a major power.

It is yours to work on. Just to let you know. Buk5 20:01, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Questions

These are for Heute Europa:

1. What happened to Bormann, Heydrich, Goebbels, Goring, Hess, etc? The Third Reich was a House divided against itself and would have descended into civil war by the time Hitler would have died.

2. How did Hitler survive into the rumsfeld presidency when he historically was dying of Parkinson's disease and possibly of syphilis OTL?

3. how much power did the SS have at the time of Himmler's death?

4. During the Axis split, how likely was a three-way nuclear war?

Just a few questions. Buk5 17:38, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Answers

1. Hitler did't die until the late 60's. he kept them in line while he lived. goring died in late 1957 of a drug overdose (He was an addict OTL) Heydrich tok over the SS while himmler was fuhrer, and died in office. Bormann remained the fuhrer's secretary, until he was killed on Himmlers orders, so as not to have a rival for the position of Fuhrer. Hess faded away and retired. most were dead by the time Hitler died.

2. he may have been sick, but he was a strong willed man, and it doesn't seem unlikely he could live that long. and by then, he would have been bed-ridden.

3. the SS had control over the police and the forced (Slave) labour. the army was still under normal control. even himmler would not let the ss become the dominating force, as then heydrich could try to oust him.

4. a nuclear war would'nt have been likely, as MAD would be well known then, and both sides wouldn't have risked it.

what do you think of fuhrer Rommel and his opening of a new reichstag?

the answers are here. Das Taub 20:46, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Those answer my questions. BTW, can you help me with the Second World War in the Kornilovshina universe? Let me know. Buk5 21:29, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
