Chance:Edit

Take the UTC time at that moment. (ie 21:32). Then, multiply those numbers. Any zeros count as one.

  • 2*1*3*2= 8

Then take the declaring (attacker) user's edit count.

  • ie 2831.

Then divide the UTC number by the edit count.

  • 8/2831= 0.00282585658

Multiply that number by pi

  • 0.00282585658*pi= 0.00887318966

Take the fifth digit in the number, and there's your chance.

  • 7

Then, for the opponent, take the eighth number.

  • 8

And there you go!

i find the algorithm heavily favoring offence, for instance economy should affect the defence as well since it i their capacity to defend effectively and support a war. and a harismatic dictatorship could easily bring the people together for a united front so to speak. also maybe adding attrition, overwhelming forces and fortification bonuses might be good.

Economy does affect defenders, and the defensive installations do affect defensive (0-2) and offensive (-2-0) power. The other points are a good idea, however, and if they can be added without shifting the balance to favour one side or the other we will definitely consider them. Discussion:Edit

The British Empire wishes to see the border changes as shown below:

Colonial Conference 2

The areas highlighted red but have a dot above them currently belong to the nation that the dot colour corresponds too.

Belgium: The Belgians feel that they are uncomfortable with the rapid expansionism displayed by the British Empire. British Empire: We offer Belgium the design for the Maxim Gun, two Royal Navy destroyers, and a guarantee that the British Empire shall perform no further South African expansionism into Belgian land if they agree to the borders illustrated above.

German Empire: The German Empire is willing to agree to these new border terms, on the condition that we are granted the territories of Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Aden.  Your expansion into Africa is perfectly respectable and just, and we feel the land we already own in the area would be too costly to industrialize at this time.

British Empire: We are both shocked and insulted to be presented with such unrealistic and extortionate terms. The idea that we would handover control of our resource rich Middle Eastern colonies for such underdeveloped and poor land is outrageous. Especially from those who we have been so generous to in other dealings. As a counter proposal we offer 50% of the island of Cyprus, which half shall be chosen at British discretion, and free passage through the Suez Canal for both German military and trading ships. The German Empire is reminded that if the deal is not finalised we shall put the issue before the League Of Nations for a solution.

German Empire: The Empire apologizes for the boldness of our request.  We were simply testing the waters of this negotiation so as to better discern our bargaining position.  Your terms are more than fair and we happily accept.  In the future, you have our word that the German people will be more respectful of the British Empire and their interests on the global stage.  We apologize for any distress we may have caused, and look forward to further peaceful and friendly diplomacy between our two nations.

Belgium: We accept the conditions, but will be extremely wary of the British in South Africa. Also, all British troops must remain fifty miles from the Northern border.

British Empire: We agree to the Belgian demands.

Portugal: In exchange for the countries, the Portuguese demand the island of Gibraltar and the waters around it to become Portuguese land.

British Empire: Whilst we are unwilling to handover Gibraltar. We are willing to offer the islands of Malta and Socotra, giving them two significant strategic positions in both the Mediterranean and the Red Sea. This shall be coupled with free passage through the Suez Canal for both Portugese military and trading ships, and free porting in the Port of Aden. Do Portugal accept?

Portugal: The Portuguese accept this compromise.

British Empire: Due to recent success in negotiations with the German Empire we offer the trade of the island of Bahrain in return for the remainder of the German Empire African colonies. Does the Kaiser accept?

Germany: The Kaiser gratefully accepts this offer.

British Empire: Whilst we did agree to a cease in British South African expansion into Belgian lands, due to the current situation in the colony we must present an offer. Currently the Free State of Congo is gripped by famine, the Belgian rubber industry has collapsed, and Belgium is coming under increasing pressure to annex their colony. The British Empire recognises that the Belgian economy wouldn't be able to take on the strain the colony would put on them, and as a result the British Empire is willing to accept the colony into the British Empire as a result. The British Empire would also offer a medium sized monetary gift, to try and repair the damage done by the colony on Belgium, with the hope of improving our future relations.

Belgium (NPC): Belgium graciously accepts, thankful of the pressure being removed from their nation.

OutcomeEdit

German forces succeed in invading and conquering Romania, with very few casualties thanks to the brutal and effective efforts of the Valkyries.  The bulk of their military is destroyed by well placed mustard gas bombs from the airships and artillery from the navy, and any other resistance faces the same threat.  Instead of executing their head of state, the Kaiser allows the old king to leave peacefully.  The population of Romania is offered full citizenship and benefits.  Supporters of the old king remain, but are under constant threat of the patrolling Valkyries.

Washington DC Conference (US and British)Edit

Mexico Deal

US: Here is what the US believes should be how the land of former Mexico is re-negotiated, where pink indicates areas that the US will not expand into.

British Empire: We don't believe that deal is a fair trade for our generous actions in letting you invade Mexico. We offer this as our proposal.

US: How about a compromise.

British Empire: We accept the deal discussed.

Alaskan Acquisition London Conference (British Empire and US)Edit

In return we ask for:

  • Alaska
  • Alliance
  • Washington DC embassy
  • Intelligence sharing

German forces successfully conquer Bulgaria, but sustain moderate casualties.  The Valkyries are stationed over major cities as a watchful eye over any bold rebel groups and irregulars while the rest of the military starts reconstruction efforts.  The population of Bulgaria is offered the same benefits as all other new additions to the Empire to best ease the transition.
