What about:

  • 1649: The Ottomans are defeated in the war, and forced to liberate Yugoslavia and Egypt, and give Italy the Dalmatian peninsula and the ex-Venecian territory. This ensures rebellions on Greece, Bulgaria and Romania for the next centuries.
  • 1669: Italy is forced to give Corsica to the French, effectively ending the Thirty Years War.

That's pretty good except, I think the Ottomans will be forced to give up Yugoslavia and Hungary (instead of Egypt). And they won't be defeated until the 1650s. Eastward Expansion 15:04, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

I think I'll have Spain join on Italy's side.Eastward Expansion 15:05, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Why would France get Corsica? I agree with EE, and Yugoslavia and Hungary would probably become independent...Smallpox 15:07, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

So Italy stays with Corsica (and with Nizza too due to the early and peaceful unification) Fedelede 15:12, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

I found this map of Italy on the age when it had Corsica and Nice.

That would be the continental territories of Italy? Fedelede 15:17, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

  • 1934: After the assassination of Yugoslavian king Alexander I instead of his son, Peter, becoming king Revolutionist Republicans take power, forming the Republic of Yugoslavia, several reforms are introduced that lessen the ethnic struggles in the country and they quickly grow in military power, due to being threatened by Russian, Ottoman and German expansionism.Smallpox 15:20, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

What if Italy got the lands east of the Rhone and Spain a strip of land near it's borders, plus Poland-Lithuania got parts of the HRE on the peace treaty of the 30 Years War? Fedelede 15:23, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

"1699) Scotland attempts to create a large colony in South America named New Caledonia. This ends up meaning war with Spain (The Darien Crisis)."

That should be with Italy, because I wrote Italy took the Ithsmus of Panama.

Implausible[]

I cannot see the Italians managing to defeat the Spanish empire in 1596 and taking all of that territory. They aren't going to be able to conquer the Tunisians after such a difficult war either. No European nation seized territory of the magnitude of Sudan, and the Italians conquering Ethiopia and all of the rest of east Africa in 1635 seems out of the question.

"Yugoslavia" would not be created, either as an entity or an entity with that name, in 1669. Beating the Ottomans by that much at all is very implausible. By 1675 the French Protestants were in no position to have a revolution. Scotland taking all of that from the English in the eighteenth century is implausible as well.

Japan conquering all of China at that time is ASB. The Uyghurs didn't really even exist as a people then either.

Basically, this entire premise has Italy implausibly overpowered, and a bunch of countries appearing that would never appear, as well as random events like a Protestant France appearing. LurkerLordB (Talk) 01:34, October 10, 2012 (UTC)
