Em, the US constitution states that one has to be at least 35 before they can run for president. Buk5 22:10, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

So? Edwards was 36 when he ran in 2000.Jack Vexx 01:19, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't French, popular in Quebec and I think other parts of Canada also be important as a second language for the Continental States?

Impeachment[]

Shouldn't Edwards be impeached by this stage? He has committed torture, torn the constitution to shreds, asks congress to break the law and created practically a big brother state? Buk5 19:45, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

What do you think Bush did man? Riley.Konner 11:43, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Clarity[]

The Constitution prohibits torture. What Edwards did was to foreign terrorists, not US citizens who are protected by the Constitution. It was a military act, a brutal and violent one yes, which if anything would bring into question crimes against humanity. Though it would be an easy defense considering the circumstances.

States of United States of North America in 2010 from west to east, and north to south

Open mind[]

i think somebody of Seattle can not be sow open to change USA to US of North America, that sound like a newyorker o somebody to los angeles, people of Global cities see the world like one and unique, seeatle is sow englishwhite to that. That i what i feel writing from argentine, maybe i wrong, i am not "greengo" (friendly way aniway), i don´t now about how a US president think --Fero 02:21, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

saddam[]

How can the UN magically arrest Saddam in thee weeks and avoid civil war? Furthermore, they need a UN resolution in the Security council and China or russia would veto that. I cite Mugabe and Darfur. Buk5 13:37, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Major Change[]

Decided to make this the dedicated timeline page, not just the Edward's Presidency, I'm still working on it though, so bear with me.--YNot1989 04:09, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

future history[]

To the contributors of this timeline, remember that future history (anything starting tomorrow) is off bound on this wiki. The timeline should end in 2008.--Marcpasquin 19:12, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

FUTURE posible?[]

nice work all of you, maybe U can do a version of this in Future wikia --Fero 01:17, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

FUTURE PERFECT[]

Just put one up, thanks for the tip, it has the same name BTW.--YNot1989 07:18, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Hugo Chavez[]

I may have included the impeachment section, but i would like your opinion on how edwards would deal with Chavez. Buk5 15:39, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

--Answer-- Due to the more positive view of the US in this timeline Chavez does not really become a problem until after Edwards leaves office. See my future wikia timeline I've been Talking about for more, though I'm still working on it.--YNot1989 07:26, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Edwards[]

Are he or his parents "real" people (OTL)? Benkarnell 21:41, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

--Answer-- No, Edwards is a fictional character, as are his parents, his family is meant to be a analogue to any average inner city American Family, Edwards is just my idea of Bush's negative.--YNot1989 06:32, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I know I've been kinda hovering over this comment section, but I simply feel that I owe it to my readers to clarify some questions about this timeline. That and I'm incredibly lazy so I hit questions on binge sections.--YNot1989 07:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

map[]

good map, although i thought Ukraine and Kazakhstan joined Russia.

Iraq[]

Why would the UN partition the country?

Would Saddam get the youtube hanging?

Why on earth would Turkey recognize Kurdistan? See Dixie and South Ossetia on secession. Buk5 10:04, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Reality[]

Winston Churchill once said that his biggest mistake was not making a Kurdish state, and we've seen today just how "united" all three sects of Iraq are without a tyrannical dictator.

Saddam would be exiled by the World Court.

Turkey would recognize Kurdistan so they could get into the EU, and lets be honest that region of their country is more trouble than its worth to them. --YNot1989 04:02, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Georgia?[]

I don't think Georgia would wish to become a part of Russia again; then they would rather join the European Union. - Realismadder 15:36, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Just fixed it so that south osetia is admited to the federation

ASB[]

This is absolute ASB. A potential foreigner getting the highest office of the land.

Alex Jones will be getting more listeners to say the ABSOLUTE least.

Russia suddenly being in bed with america. that is like Cold Fire or Hot Ice. A russo-american alliance is an oxymoron.

When 9/11 happens, the truth movement will sprout up faster than OTL. Watch Loose change, Endgame, Terrorstorm.

The Neocons will defect and say 9/11 was an inside job.

Expect Tarpley to make more money. any Truth movement film will be a blockbuster compared to Loose Change OTL (which apparently is the most watched movie online)

Edwards getting the UN to arrest saddam? This is like getting Serbia to Arrest Mladic. France, Russia and China would veto any resolution (they gave saddam 83% of his hardware.)

Edwards not being impeached for OPENLY violating the constitution's prohibition against torture? At the very least, bush attemtped to cover that up.

Saddam getting to live in the lap of luxury by the ICJ? Roflcopter, that is like a murderer getting a mansion.

Government being expanded solves every problem. Tell that to Baby P [[1]]

Government intervention ineducation doesn't help. case in point, Britain.

North America, and CANADA for crying out loud, all of a sudden wanting to join the US? That is like a victim joining their bully's gang.

Sorry, but all the ASBs acting in concert are the only reasin this guy even gets to run. Buk5 18:20, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Canada[]

The Canadian people would never agree to being absorbed by the US. We have fundamental disagreements with the way the US is run, our ties to the British Monarchy, and socialism being a viable political view would all go against this. A European Union style economic union in North America would be acceptable, but Canada would never seek annexation by the US.--Oerwinde 20:50, November 8, 2009 (UTC)
Even after your economy has been crippled by an America that has unlimited resources from space based mining, is actively seeking an economic bill of rights, and is actively drawing down its military presence overseas. Sorry, but I think Canadians are a little more calculating that you are giving yourselves credit for.
Unlimited resources wouldn't cripple the economies. Its only the mining industries that would suffer. Free market economy would ensure that if the space mining companies had unlimited resources, and the costs of space mining didn't drive up the prices of the resources, they would sell to whoever was buying, including foreign companies. This would lead to a boost in the import business in Canada, as well as a boost in tariff revenues for the Canadian government. Cheaper resources would mean cheaper products, which in turn would mean more people buying, which leads to an improved economy. --Oerwinde 08:01, November 10, 2009 (UTC)

Some economics[]

Just remember that with the economy exploding in 2007 and the Dow reaching 500k a year later, the interest rates required to defeat inflation and bring the value of the dollar to 1800 levels would cripple the economy. Since businesses are the basis for a free market economy and someone would generally need to take out a loan to start their business up. Its usually some time before it starts making enough of a profit to pay off its debts. With interest rates as high as you imply, that would simply be impossible.
Not to mention, the real wages of the American people and export-hostile exchange rates wouldn't be good news either.

After being confirmed by the Chronoscope, it is realized that President Edwards was actually from a parallel timeline, and had accidentally been carried into this time when the Large Haradon Collider in his time tore itself apart due to a design flaw and transported himself into the past. For unknown reasons he was reduced to an infant, but somehow maintained all of his memories and knowledge. Knowledge of a terrible alternate timeline, where George W. Bush became President and nearly destroyed the United States during his tenure as President. President Edwards is never seen again after saying that he wished to explore the galaxy.
