Talk:The Boulanger Era
From Alternative History
Marc, I like the direction your taking with this one, and I agree about the WWI about 20 years earlier. Let me know if you'd like any help in this! Louisiannan 02:25, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Any suggestion is more then welcome. To be quite honnest, what I've written is pretty much all I have right now for this timeline. --Marcpasquin 00:14, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] POD's
Marc, per the book Wikipedia:1901: A Novel Germany very nearly came to attack the US in 1901. With that said, could the pending war of Boulanger and his cronies come to be then? Let me know what you think. Louisiannan 04:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
- I had planned to have the war start in 1894 (exactly 20 years before our WW1) due to the problem between France and Italy (which events *there* largely follow the ones *here*). What lead to Germany's plan might simply be moved forward (I'll have to read on what it was about).
- One thing this got me thinking thought was which side the US might be on. On one hand, the monroe doctrine could keep it out of the war until it feel one side has breeched it. On the other hand, its action in the pacific (annexion of Hawai) could have brought it in conflict with other pacific colonial power (either the UK or Germany). --Marcpasquin 14:52, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
