Doesn't make much sense. Ignores all aspects of the two organizations, and the presence of both American and Soviet forces in the war zones. And, the presence of troops in West Berlin, more than a brigade's worth.

Also, the Kennedy assassination. Needs to at least be an attempt.

West Germany could easily defeat East Germany on its own.

Ignores all aspects of the relationship between the two superpowers.

The Soviets explicitly stated that an invasion of Cuba would be war. And they meant it - if Krus~ had not done so, or indeed, done any of the things you have him doing, the hardliners would have overthrown him immediately.

Why would that takeover do any good? Relations would deteriorate. Fast, badly, and rapidly. War ensues.

Basically, none of this really can occur. War, and likely nuclear war, would erupt between the two, going by your events, likely in 1963, but definitely in 1964.
