Be careful with the explosive payload of a Nerve-gas-carring V1 or V2, since a large explosion would vaporise the payload, rendering it useless. --Sikulu 12:07, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Armistice?
After six years of war, wouldn't America suffer from "war fatigue" that almost all democracies do and push for Truman to end the war with Germany atleast (since Germany didn't bomb Pearl Harbor). And wouldn't Hitler and the Nazis embrace such a move, if it meant finishing off Africa and Russia?
- I think you're right. So I changed the story to take that into account. I have to think about what would happen to Japan. It is known that Hitler judged that Germany was fighting the wrong enemy and had the wrong friends. --Pirate
[edit] Armageddon
With the amount of nuclear weapons being thrown around, the great powers are setting the world up for armageddon. Britain will probalbly become so radioactive that no-one can live there anymore. the same can be said of Ireland. Germany will become partially de-populated, and if it continues for too long, a nuclear winter will set in, and well you get the picture.
- For a nuclear winter you need a lot of hydrogen bombs exploding at the same time. Atom bombs are not powerful enough. Atom bombs are city killers. But cities were already depopulated by strategic bombing. People had mostly fled to villages. As nobody seems to know - rates of cancer and genetic disease are lower than average in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Radiation kills in the short term and seems to make stronger in the long term. --Pirate
- I think that "urban legend" of "super-men" coming out of radiation from Hiroshima and Nagasaki has long been disproven. The statistics are misleading. What actually happened is that most of those who were effected by the radiation, died in the initial years after the war. But given re-population of those areas by rural Japanese, with less exposure to pollution (much less radiation), the statistics on cancer and birth defects dropped. But not because the "irradiated Hiroshimans were now genetically stronger"...but because country-folk from OUTSIDE of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, who were not exposed to carcinogens, moved in.70.150.208.34 21:15, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- I think radiation only makes you stronger if you are the Hulk...--60.242.115.64 15:51, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
That's a good explanation. There is also the opinion that the initial radiation overdose killed the weak ones so the survivors were stronger than average. I was thinking about the hormesis effect of radiation and incorporating it in the history. Pirate 19:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Post War
What would the situation be like after the war? my guess is that it would be like the situation in the novel Fatherland by Robert Harris, with a strong Reich enguaged in a Cold War with the US, and an endless war with soviet partizans in the Urals.
My thoughts exactly. I didn't know about the book. It will be interesting to see what Harris comes up with. 196.209.251.3 07:49, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Pirate, i have included segments for the Cold War and the War on Terror. What do you think? let me know. Buk5 17:13, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
[edit] who did this?
who added the orphaned articles? Buk5 19:38, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't know who did it but I removed the article. It clashes with the timeline.Pirate 10:19, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Islamism
Would Islamists still be in a position like OTL (Bin Laden, Zarqawi etc)? Buk5 19:54, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Oops, I didn't notice this post. No, definitely not.
- The Axis world is going for nuclear power and doesn't need oil from the Arabs.
- The USA gets oil from the Arabs at rock bottom prices. There would still be rich sheiks but the countries would be poor. As USA cultural influence increases Arabs may become envious and resentful. If the USA did something stupid like enforcing a law that forbids the stoning of women who have been raped terrorism could start.
- Turkey would become more secular to stay on favorable terms with Germany.
- Bin Laden could still become rich from oil. His best strategy would be to acquire a hydrogen bomb from Italy by bribery and send it by oil tanker to the USA. He could try to frame the Axis and start global fireworks. This could backfire.
- Hussein could conquer some neighbors. Nobody would care very much what Arabs did. If he would be stupid enough to attack Turkey he would become the target of Axis H-bombs.
- The USA at an early stage would negotiate with the Axis to obtain influence in the Arab world, in return for Axis influence in Africa.
- Arabs could create an OPEC oil cartel.
[edit] Map
Btw, my map's in the public domain, so you can use it if you want.
Oh, there's Cold War, Escalation, Pax Americana and A New Enemy that are still there. What do you plan for them?. Buk5 15:29, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Non-Original Author Material
Frankly, the stuff after 1948, that obviously wasn't written by the original author...is pretty weak.97.82.131.34 15:02, 8 February 2009 (UTC) Pirate 18:46, 20 June 2009 (UTC) It's a different style from 1947. I was wondering if an alternative history can bud different timelines. More fun for everybody.
[edit] Source of quote
Could this be included (for those not familiar with it)?
Pirate 18:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC) What quote is that?
[edit] 1948+
I find that all the post war stuff in this article 9as mentioned before) was really sub par. The quality wasn't very good at all and didn't match the standards of the really detailed and interesting war time sections. In fact, its completely unbelievable. Something collapsing in just one day due to a computer virus? I'm sorry but it completely ruined everything for me, to see such good stuff then be disappointed is a great shame. I hope you have plans to change the story in future. My regards. 82.2.60.183
- Sorry. My bad. But i never intended for it to be drakaverse rubbish. I have problems elaborating and all that.
I will change it Buk5 20:05, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
I'd assume you added the "inferior" (sorry, using that word for lack of a better one) sections without consulting the original author. To be hoenst I think you should get in contact with him again and remove the added stuff, unless this is an open timeline. 82.2.60.183
I was actually in consultation with Pirate and have his permission.
Unfortunately, i have been found wanting in my writing of TLs. Buk5 09:37, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Well that's perfectly fine then. Good luck to you, I would recommend a change but whatever. 82.2.60.183
maybe you could help. Buk5 12:06, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
I'd be happy to. 82.2.60.183
Right, I've logged onto my account so I can help you with whatever you want. El Zilcho Talk
Maybe we could specialise in the post 1948 World. Buk5
Right, sounds good, you can post your ideas and discuss it on my talk page. This will be my last post in here involing this subject, as not to clog it up!
Here's an idea: I'm planning a timeline of my own, that would involve Hitler listening to his staff and focusing on Moscow in the Spring of 1942. He would take Moscow, and Leningrad in quick succession, before advancing with Operation Blue and successfully taking Stalingrad and the Caucasus oil fields. But to add a twist, I would mention the weakened Dunkirk forces (in this timeline captured) helped play a role in the decisive victory of Rommels forces in North Africa, forming a two pronged attack through turkey (now joining the Axis) into Russia. Rommel would then link up with Army Group South and help in taking Caucasus and Stalingrad, making a formidable defensive line that they hold over the Winter of 42/43.
By 1943, Spring the Army groups push forward and past the Volga, cutting off the supply lines from sabotage (Moscow and all areas around her is in the Reich control). A huge offensive occurs, which pushes back the Germans during Summer, but a strong counter attack reaches Arkhangelsk and surrounds three large Russian armies, and captures Stalin. Blah blah, cut long story short, Overlord fails and Britain is invaded. I would then build up a much "hotter" Cold War between America and the Reich, with a crushed Soviet Union having been reduced to isolated pockets of resistance in the Urals.
Basically everything that went wrong for the Reich in OTL, goes right for them. :P El Zilcho Talk
Being the original author I would like to steer the timeline in a different direction from 1946. I tend to think a lot and therefore work slowly. I'll link to the present post-1946 story as an alernative. I hope this is agreeable - it is not intended as a slight upon someone's contribution.Pirate 20:21, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
[edit] I think
Good idea, to separate the timelines into a spin off and such. I applaud you, I look forward to the revised timeline.
[edit] Great job with this Timeline
Just one remark regarding the headline/the song title. It is not:
"Heute da hört uns Deutschland, und morgen die ganze Welt"
(Today Germany is listening to us, and tomorrow the whole wide world)
But the title is rather:
Heut', da gehört uns Deutschland, und morgen die ganze Welt!
(Today Germany belongs to us, and tomorrow the whole wide world)
You see, it's a very different meaning.
