Talk:Mexican War (New Albion)
From Alternative History
[edit] Ramifications
- John Tyler majorly feared a British invasion of the West Coast, and in the Monroe doctrine claimed that British takeover was a "threat to security"
- With more British settlements in the Northwest, this happens before the Americans can reach the Pacific. A major contest is in play for which country will get these lands. Britain wins the bid, but allies with the U.S. to avoid a remote three-way-war.
