Considering the nature of the Orange Free State, I seriously doubt that they would have good relations. No matter how much they may have reformed. Lordganon 06:51, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

... But I figured since they're part of the SAU, they'd kinda be more friendly. Besides which, why would they be hostile to a black controlled state?

Would Lesotho being part of the SAU be possible? GunsnadGlory 18:19, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

You are referring to the New Union of South Africa, I trust? Because there's nothing shorted to "SAU."

The OFS is not a member of that group, or the other one in the region. Hell, they are openly a racist state, with apartheid and everything. Yes, very hostile. Thanks for reminding me of the map on the South Africa article being horribly wrong, mind.

Might be possible for them to be a member, but on some level I doubt it personally.

Lordganon 23:46, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

-_- ... That map really needs to be changed.

I didn't have high hopes on the membership.

Fine about the OFS... whats the state to the south of Lesotho?

GunsnadGlory 18:27, April 17, 2012 (UTC)

No kidding, lol. Something to do.

The state to the south is KwaXhosa. Decent relations, but I imagine not the best in the world.

Lordganon 03:46, April 18, 2012 (UTC)

Removed all of those links. Remember to remove those, Guns. Lordganon 21:31, April 19, 2012 (UTC)

Links? What links? *Guilty Chuckle*

And err.... Have I ever told you some thing about my mapmaking skills? They SUCK. TGFGI GunsnadGlory 19:07, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

Thank God For Google Images. Done! GunsnadGlory 19:09, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

NUSA[]

I saw that you were discussing Lesotho being a member of the New Union of South Africa. Although it might be a bit of a stretch, I think it is possible. So would Lesotho want to join the New Union of South Africa once it has been ratified? :D 1 Imperium Guy 19:55, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

What on earth are you talking about? That organization has been around since 2004. Lordganon 20:36, April 20, 2012 (UTC)

What do you mean? I was just asking if Lesotho would want to be a part of NUSA. :/ 1 Imperium Guy 22:20, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

The word "ratified," Imp. Kinda hard to be ratifying something that's been in existence for nearly 8 years, lol. Lordganon 08:27, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

I think that Imp means they joined back when it was ratified... GunsnadGlory 18:17, April 23, 2012 (UTC)

If that's what he is meaning, then it sure as heck isn't what he said. Lordganon 20:39, April 23, 2012 (UTC)

Ehh... messed up wording. Kinda like 'firefoms'. No offence, Imp. GunsnadGlory 18:41, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

I think the word you may be looking for is graduated rather than ratified, as in the country of Lesotho aready exists, it has been ratified by other nation pages (i.e. its canon already), but the Lesotho article page will need graduating before it could join the NUSA.

The joining date of the NUSA can be backdated to a reasonable time frame however--Smoggy80 12:02, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, thanks Smoggy. And yeah I messed this one up as well, I meant graduated. Man, I really need to make what I say clearer (BTW, none taken guns, lol)!! :D 1 Imperium Guy 19:12, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Lesotho-OFS War[]

Do I need the permission of Mitro to add a page of the above name? GunsnadGlory 18:55, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

No just make sure you add the (1983: Doomsday) bit to the title, otherwise it'll get lost in the Wikifog--Smoggy80 15:46, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Also Mitro really isn't a major contributer on the DD pages anymore, the ones you want to be talking to are Oerwinde or Lordganon, they are the more active Brass on the DD pages--Smoggy80 15:49, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

No, its just cause Mitro wrote it soo... GunsnadGlory 19:10, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

Would'nt even be a question of asking him. At best, you'd need to ask on the main DD talk page about it.

Realistically, I would say that you couldn't do this. Doesn't make too much sense, Guns.

Lordganon 23:21, April 26, 2012 (UTC)

I knew you would say, that, so I prepared an arguement.

The I read it and realized exactly how many holes you would pick, so I will content myself by saying that if the OFS is white supremist, then... GunsnadGlory 22:03, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

Ones that are reeling from a major disaster, holding down a massive black population by force, and facing the option of going against someone who can probably raise more troops than them, that has little need to, comparatively, secure their borders, and is likely stronger overall.

And they'd know it - it would end badly. Add to that that the neighboring states wouldn't let it stand.

Lordganon 23:29, April 27, 2012 (UTC)

<annoying grin> So the OFS loses badly, fine.

Who says they started it? 98.14.126.83 16:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

Same answer - because not only would Lesotho not do that, but fighting a defensive war is not the same as an offensive war. The OFS would be able to, fairly easily, beat off an attacker of that strength. Lordganon 22:06, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

... -_- fine then. Vir prudens non contraventum mingit 18:52, May 2, 2012 (UTC)

Flag and arms[]

The article featured the OTL flag and arms, which were designed in 2006. This is obviously incorrect. As a placeholder I've replaced them with the ones that were used before 1986, which are of course what the country would have been using at the point of divergence. If someone wants to design an alternate version of the flag for this timeline, that could replace this one; for now, at least it's not glaringly wrong. False Dmitri (talk) 22:05, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

No king[]

King Moshoeshoe was in exile in the Netherlands in 1983, and his son Letsie was studying in England. I don't see how Lesotho can be a kingdom with all that going on. PM and Chief Leabua Jonathan was running the show at the time. False Dmitri (talk) 06:25, 15 January 2022 (UTC)

Thinking about it a bit more, maybe Lesotho can keep the monarchy but have a different chiefly line. I'll look around. False Dmitri (talk) 20:19, 15 January 2022 (UTC)
