Maps[]

Wow-this is really interesting! I really enjoyed reading those stories. They were very well written. I hope you do become an author Flagmania 21:38, December 24, 2011 (UTC)

Could definitately use maps though...Flagmania 16:31, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your nice comments, I hope I get published as well. As for maps, well I am not that artistic, but if anyone wants to submit their own, I would be glad to post this if they are up to snuff. Mitro 15:42, December 27, 2011 (UTC)

Ok--I'll make some maps (and maybe even if you don't need them, flags) for the two worlds. There are a few base maps I might use

I think I'm going to use the first one though.Flagmania 15:27, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Looking forward to seeing them. Mitro 15:45, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Next Earth[]

Mitro 15:45, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Its difficult to imagine for me where some of these PODS will lead, but maybe a world where the golden Age of Islam never ends would be interesting. But then again so woul all those PODs.Flagmania 16:31, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Making this easier to vote in. Mitro 20:00, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
Despite the "War of 1812" Earth winning, I decided to go with the "Islamic Golden Age" Earth since I had a scenario in my head already. I do promise to do the "War of 1812" Earth next though. In the meantime, here are some new options to choose from. Mitro
Alright just posted a new Earth article. My next one will be on my version of an earlier European Union. Mitro 16:43, January 12, 2012 (UTC)

Maps for This Timeline[]

The Technocracy

Here's my first draft of a map for the Technocracy. What do you think about it?

There's probably lots of stuff to change(maybe the British don't own the whole southern third of Africa, maybe you'd like me to label it differently) though. Now, I'll start work on the other map for the other world.Flagmania 16:28, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

I like it, it certainly looks like what I imagined the Technocracy looking like. Yet there are to many modern borders considering how early the POD was, plus that straight line in South Africa is not very plausible. I also would give more territory to the Technate of North America. Mitro 17:14, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
Ok I'll change the borders of the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. And add the Carribean islands and Central America. I'll also move South Africa a lot farther down south. And Russia and Eastern Europe will be more balkanized. Should I change the Western European Technate, to just the European Technate?-Flag
I do not want to stifle your creativity, so know these two facts: 1) not all Technates are represented in the IETC and 2) take a look at a political map right before WWI and consider what would it look like if it ended in a white peace. Mitro 18:44, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
The Technocracy2
The Only Technocracy I added was Turkey (occupied by the Allies after the Great War, until the foundations of the Technocracies).
Other than that I changed the borders of Africa and the Middle East. And I moved down the British in Africa.Flagmania 23:47, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
Better, though I am changing up how I accept maps. Wait for Map Contest (Infinite Possibilities) to be created. Mitro 15:01, December 29, 2011 (UTC)
OK, went ahead and made the map contest article. Good luck to all participants. Now I need to get onto to writing a new Earth article. Mitro 20:05, January 4, 2012 (UTC)

War of 1812[]

You should make one where the USA wins the War of 1812 hugely and annexes Canada, and then Mexico and then becomes a huge imperial power. DeanSims 16:35, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
My intention is that only the founding Earths of the IETC will be "wanks", but I have no problem drafting a timeline where America goes through the cycle of heroic age, empire and decline. Mitro 17:14, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
cool! DeanSims 17:16, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
my american empire (map game) needs players and starts today, all are welcome! DeanSims 17:17, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Ideas[]

I have a few ideas including:

  • Princip fails to kill Franz Ferdinand
  • Napoleon manages to win the Battle of Trafalgar
  • Zheng He discovers America before Columbus did
  • Russia won the Crimean War
  • The Fashoda Incident turns into war between Britain and France
  • Hitler is assassinated before he becomes ruler of Germany
  • Mensheviks win the Russian Civil War
  • Britain manages to coincede with the colonial Americans' demands before war breaks out
  • China westernizes instead of Japan

That's all I have. Hope you like them.

The good thing about the multiverse is that all of these Earth probably exist. Whether I actually wrtie about them remains to be seen. Mitro 19:59, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
The thing is- all these PODs take place in the Last 500 years. What about PODs that take place thousands of years ago?Flagmania 23:50, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
  • Hm. Would this be good?

- Jose de San Martin never leaves for France in 1824 and with his continued support and help, Simon Bolivar is able to realise his dream: The Republic of Columbia which would dominate South America and establish itself as a world power.

- Hitler dies during the Beer Hall Putsch. Eventualy, technology advances at a much faster rate then in OTL due to the absents of WWII. After a successful assassination attempt on Chairman Joseph Stalin, the Soviet Union slowly disentigrated due to the power struggle that occured in the aftermath. Lavrentiy Beria would eventualy become Chairman and he soon opened the Soviet Union to the West. On 1952, only eight years later, the USSR was no more and would be replaced by ethnic communitys which would dominate Russia for almost a century. The rest of the world would continue to advance in technology, medicine, science, etc and by 2011, about 90% of Earths land would be dominated by Megalopolises.

- Prehaps after the fall of the Romans, there technology and culture are adapted by the invading tribes and barbarians (To put it simply, a early renaissance). Therefore, the world has OTL technology by the mid-late 1800's.

Although there mostly implausbile, the POD can be modified in order to become plausibile. BlackSkyEmpire 20:16, December 29, 2011 (UTC)

The IETC has strict rules about divergent points to far in the past. While they are explored (following strict security guidelines), there is a general ban against sharing the secret of multiverse travel with them. Often the cultures that arise out of these timelines are so alien that there is little hope for cooperation. Non-authorized travel can mean summary execution by TSPTF agents.
