Talk:Ichiixi Firoxi (Toyotomi)
From Alternative History
I'm figuring science proceeded a bit faster *there*, in part due to Japan's already-advanced state prior to the POD, and in part due simply to the fact that with Japan participating in world events, there are simply more people to produce more scientists to work on science. - Nik 08:15, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Oh, also, there's somewhat of a pun involved in the name. :) Ichiixi = One Stone, i.e., the same as Einstein's name means. :-) - Nik 08:16, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Technology in Toyotomi timeline
It would be interesting what a way daily life is lived like in Toyotomi 2005, which accessoirs differ from OTL there. (First of all, I think this timeline is the best developed one!)
If GW3 was 25 years before OTL WW1 and the first two phases of "GW4" were 15 to 20 years before OTL WW2, furthermore having E=mc² 25 years earlier as well, how about nuclear weapons in Toyotomi? Or more general, would we still use toilet paper or would we use these "Demolition Man three seashells"-likely devices having existed in OTL Japan for 25 years? If Toyotomi Japan had known the "three seashells" for about 50 years now, when would it have come to Europe? Would toilet paper be an old-fashioned item in 2005 even outside the Japanese world? As North America *there* is a playground where Japanse and Europeans meet, how will North American cuisine develop? Will Japanese Americans adopt Western cutlery or would European Americans rather adopt chopsticks?
It would make a good article in the Culture section. Dr. Nodelescu 17:35, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)
