just two things regarding the "byzantine ensign", the stripes *here* were inspired by the US flag (which *there* is quite different). Also, it seem odd to me that a national would use in canton the flag of only one province.--Marcpasquin 14:06, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks - I was unaware of the origins of the "ensign" (which, before becoming the national flag of OTL Greece was originally the naval flag, if I remember correctly.) As for having the flag of Constantinople/Istanbul in the canton of the flag - that was an honest mistake. I have two versions of the flag on my computer: one with and one without, as I couldn't decide on which one to use. When I finally decided to make the canton into the flag of the Imperial Capital Province, I suppose I clicked on the wrong file to upload. I'll change that. Thanks! There - I uploaded the correct version of the national flag, as well as an alternate version of the ensign. Are these more acceptable, historically speaking? I know very little about Greek flags, and so if there are any mistakes please let me know! Jeffrbenn 06:23, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
