First, keeping EMK sober![]

And so, with this closed time line, we can assume the talk page is a good place for suggestions. The first question is, how do we keep Ted Kennedy sober at other times so as to alter his considerable political history? Would the lack of this incident have assured him the 1980 nomination? Or would his unpredictable behavior have kept the far-more-sober Jimmy Carter the favorite?

Perhaps, this small butterfly will see him confront his drinking problem. Perhaps nixon wont go down because of watergate, perhaps someone else will win in 76 and 1980 will be a completely different story.Antiimperialist 23:26, August 1, 2011 (UTC)

And what about Mary Jo? Perhaps she would have advanced in politics as well. She had returned to the political campaign scene after the assassination of Robert Kennedy, having joined the firm of Matt Reese Associates in the DC area in December of 1968. It was from a reunion of RFK's campaign workers that she was offered a drive to the ferry by EFK. If she had but mentioned his offer to a friend, who may have warned her, or if she had hesitated long enough for Kennedy to change his mind, then he may have left without her. She may have even ended up working for his 1972 campaign. --SouthWriter 00:05, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
